What did you do in GT7 today?

Decided to do more testing with the engine swaps, found a car that can beat the Nismo GTR on the 1000m drag without resorting to nitrous:

I don't have the Escudo engine for the Evo or the Ford GT engine with the Focus but I suspect they could both win as well.

Race at Sardegna for 727,000cr and my daily mileage.
I've collected all the cars and paint jobs now so I might do a few more races before stopping GT7 until the next updates as there's just not much else left for me to do!

Came back to GT7 after a much needed me time, and had good fun with the new swaps, specially the LT5 86GT, so I made this simple livery for it, looks as if it were a very Limited edition for sure! My 86GT SS:

This weekend, I completed all of the new events and bought all of the new cars in less than two hours.

  • The Historic Sports Car Masters was completed using my lovely tuned De Tomaso Pantera. Surprised that they decided to not give us a wet race at Spa or the Nordschleife, given that they seem to love giving us wet races.
  • Beat the Silvia Sisters race at Tokyo with a tuned S15 that loves to get sideways and make me smile.
  • The Gr.1 Prototype race at Fuji was thrilling…up until the final lap when AI Wilk pitted and let me take the victory in my Mazda LM55. I would’ve likely snagged second if it hadn’t been for that pit stop though, as Wilk was over 12 seconds or so ahead.

I completed the two extra menus easily, as I had all six cars needed for completion already. The special part was a stupid Stroke Up S for the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept, but the engine swap was the Audi Sport Quattro’s turbo-five for the MkI Golf GTI. Feeling evil, but I will save it for next weekend.

I also improved my time in the Watkins Glen time trial to a low 1:14 (fixed the typo). I just can’t get along with this ZR1. Very delicate throttle control is necessary, and I can’t do it as accurately with triggers as those with pedals.

Squeezed out a 1:13:125 in the Time Trial. Scrapped a set of tyres and sanded the paint off both wing mirrors in the process - But man am I happy!!!

:):):)

Best regards to all here.

On the GTP account, I did a few laps in the old WRS time trial, then had to add somewhere around 50 pounds to the R33 to get it back under 600 PP. It didn't really affect the Tokyo grind (27:47), though Kokubun was unusually quick to finish only 5 seconds behind.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair spat out the almost-usual lowest-showing 30,000 Cr. Fortunately, I had enough cash lying around to get the new WRS time trial car, the Cayman Clubsport.

On the Plus account, the Silvia S15 I tuned for Silvia Sisters works relatively well at the Tokyo Water Dance. It lasts 9 laps on FM 1, and once the track is dry, it will turn in 2:13-2:14 laps. 27:56 was good enough for the win.

The no-cash 5-star roulette gave me the 458 Italia engine. I'm still well short of being able to get the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car while still having enough credits for the Gordini and the Skyline Super Silhouette.

As I bumped the Credits cap, I bought the MP4/4 and then ran the 8-lapper at Circuit Sainte-Croix. Fun car.

I also ran the NSX GT500 at Sardegna. And one at LeMans with the Boss 429. I also bought the 1971 Mercedes 300 AMG and the 1973 Skyline. I haven't run them yet.

The 4-star wheel dripped out 10k.

Tested a couple of cars at Le Mans.

-Alpine A110 (the new one) fully tuned is a blast at this race. Fast, handles great and quite fuel economic. Overall a great car to use!
-Porsche engined VW Beetle, kinda a nightmare.
I've not been able to make the Beetle turn without spinning since fitting the Porsche engine...

Even going in a straight line is a challenge at times!!

More like What did I do in Gran Turismo 7 Yesterday, but anyway: worked on a NASCAR-ish Livery. Struggled with making Racing Numbers look NASCAR-ish. Decals stopped loading in the Menus & tried to save it & it ended up stuck on Rendering at 0% meaning I had to force a Reset. Hours of work gone.

Couple of grinding races at Sardegna....up to 3m credits. Don't need the credits to purchase any cars but saving up for the future update which will have new cars to purchase.

I'll probably stop playing GT7 now until the next update as there's nothing interesting for me to do!

I went from barely being in the top 5% for the current online time trial - namely due to the new physics changes - to being only off the top time by 3.05%! I might be able to get my second-ever time trial gold on this one!

I then bought the 2002 Honda NSX Type R, completing my collection for the NSX. I got my engine ticket...and it's a second Coyote 5.0L, but that's OK, because I still haven't swapped my first one yet. So I could swap it into my Mustang Mach 1 '71, which is already tuned using its stock engine, and then another into a Pantera. Or, I could swap one into a Pantera, and then wait to see if more cars become compatible with this engine. That very well could happen, seeing how THREE cars just became compatible with the engine from the C7 ZR1.

Granted, I would've preferred one of many other engines I haven't obtained yet, such as the aforementioned C7 ZR1 engine, but I suppose at least I now have a Coyote 5.0L for both compatible cars - or at least the Pantera and another potentially compatible car that isn't the Mustang Mach 1 '71. (I think I recall that the Coyote 5.0L is a popular engine in real life, so hopefully we'll get more swaps!)

I also was thinking of doing this week's Daily Race A, but then again, a PP cap as high as 600 for a course like Tokyo Expressway Central seems like it could get pretty hectic. (I'd be much more interested if it were the East or South layouts, or if the PP limit was like, 500 or less.) So I think for now, I'll focus on breaking into gold range for this current time trial, then after it ends, I'll see how well I can do at the next online next time trial until the daily races refresh next Monday on Halloween. Then I'll take another look and see if I wanna give it a swing. If all else bores me, I still gotta do the new Bonus Menu that's been added.

EDIT: Oh, and through getting a better time for the current online time trial, I got a four-star ticket, and all the potential prizes were cars. I ended up winning a Frozen Blue Porsche Taycan, so I'll likely modify that one. I already have another Taycan - a white one, which I either won via the license tests or the missions, I can't remember.

EDIT2: I still have yet to acquire at least two other Engine Tickets, namely for the Gr.2-themed Extra Menu, and the Extra Menu centered around Mid-Engined Porsche models.

I had a second attempt at the Tokyo WTC600 in the Amuse Nismo 380RS and managed to pull off a win! Very happy with that.

Then I bought the Pagani Huayra as I had an invite about to expire, and I'd found a tune by Praiano and wanted to test it out at the Sardegna WTC800 race. It suffers massively from tyre performance drop-off. The 4th and 5th laps are significantly more difficult, and I managed to mess up big time at the end of lap 13, clipping the outside wall and bouncing back into the pit wall! Limped around and recovered eventually to finish 5th. I know it's got a win in it, so I'll definitely try again a few times (at least until it's paid itself off!!)

On the Plus account, after finding the Mitsubishi VGT way too slow for Sarthe despite its prodigious power, I decided to try one more time for an 8-lap race with the Red Bull Junior on RM tires, minimum downforce, and slightly less camber/toe on FM2 to get me through 7 laps on fuel at speed. It took a multitude of restarts to get a race where rain wasn't much of a factor, but I did it. I almost screwed it up by going into full fuel-save mode (FM 6, 6th gear) coming out of the Ford Chicane on lap 7, and having the left-rear tire become almost useless by the end of that lap, but I crossed the finish line for the 7th time at 29:59. I coasted through the 8th lap at an attempted maximum speed of 110 mph (I broke that a few times) while not shifting from 6th, and I finished the 8th lap under power at the 36:02 mark.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave me the ultra-high-RPM turbo for the RE Amemiya...for the second time in four days. I could have picked up the Ford GT LM Test Car, but I needed to work on the GTP account.

On the GTP account, I used Old Trusty - the tuned Focus RS - at Sarthe. It was so drenched, with rain between the end of lap 2 and the middle of lap 5, the usual front-runners finished 12th and 14th.

The 3-star Wheel of Despair gave the low-showing 10,000 Cr. I'm still waiting for the 787B to come back to Hagerty's, so I didn't buy anything.

Bought the Porsche 962 at the weekend and did a few races, some detuned to 800p and a few of the Gr1/neo-classic races at full power. I think it's probably my favourite of the group C cars, for me it handles and sounds better than the Mazda. May be my Sardegna/Spa weapon of choice in the future if I need to do some grinding for Legends.

Bought the XJR-9 and ran Sardegna with it. Fast car, but significant understeer. I ran one at Lemans with the Boss 429.

Another 10k from the wheel.

A quiet day for me but really pleased with a win at 30 minute Le Mans in the AMG 300 SEL Red Sow. Under powered, over weight and thirsty (and that's just me) but it still won by 3 seconds thanks to Praiano's tune... 4 star roulette yielded 30K credits...

Still only need 2 cars to complete the collection but the Corvette Stingray Racer Concept still hasn't appeared in LCD and I've still yet to see a Citroen invite for the GT Road Car...

Bought the GT3 GT-R ‘18 to complete my GT-R collection. Think I’m pretty much done multiple car collecting until we, hopefully, get the RS500, R31 GTS-R and 2002 tii & turbo.

On the GTP account, I forgot the Viper GT3 needs serious fuel management to make it 5 laps at Sardegna. Still, it was a formulatic win. The all-cheap-car 4-star Wheel of Despair gave me yet another Clown...er...Crown Safety Car. What's notable is not that it was the most-expensive of the 5 cars on the wheel, but that the new Roadster NR-A (which I haven't purchased on this account) was also part of the wheel, along with the BMW i3, the Peugeot RCZ GT Line and the VW Golf VII GTI.

On the Plus account, I did what I ran out of time to do yesterday; I bought the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car. That leaves just 9 Brand Central cars to buy, at a cost of 22,600,000 Cr., and 41 Hagerty's cars, at a current cost of 285,182,500 Cr. 40 Hagerty's cars, at a current cost of 285,450,000 Cr. (see below). It will be a while before I buy the least-expensive Brand Central car remaining, the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II, as I have 5,432,500 5,400,000 Cr. to acquire to have enough to buy the 5 4 cheaper Hagerty's cars and another 1,600,000 Cr. to get said Ford.

I put it to work at Sardegna. It's fast, and almost has the fuel mileage to do a 1-tire-change 6-5-4 strategy, but it's very squirrelly in the final S-bend. Still, it paid back about 60% of its cost.

The all-cash 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the 2nd-low-showing (and lowest-legal, as the low-showing was 5,000 Cr.) 30,000 Cr. It was enough to cross off the 1966 Renault R8 Gordini, though I marveled at the higher-than-expected price increase for the Nissan R92CP. My sources had it going up to "only" 2,700,000 Cr., and it went up to 3,000,000 Cr.

Got my Supra GT500 97 tuned up and ran one race at LeMans. I forgot how great it handles and it’s stout brakes too. Dusted off the CLK and ran one race at Sardegna.

The wheel dropped a carbon fiber driveshaft.

Struggled with the Historic cafe menu - trying to find a car that won't spin when you brake! 🤣
Odd wheel today, all cars (4-star ticket) - won a Honda Civic Type R limited edition.

Attempted the Gr.1 race at St Croix in the Peugeot L750 VGT, and placed a poor 7th in the end. A combination of not knowing the car or the circuit was the recipe for a fairly poor race! I'll have to have another go another time... Unless anyone has any suggestions for a suitable car?
