What did you do in GT7 today?

Today I started off easily and wanted to do something different, so I got a tune for the K20C swapped Beat and decided to take on some 500-550pp events that I still hadn't done. And what a ride it was, that little devil is MENTAL!

Given how crazy fast that thing is, I decided to try it out on racing tires and to try Sarthe with it. It's just 520-something PP so maybe it wasn't enough...turns out, it's more than enough:

And I also had a bad tire strategy, with a very quick but heavy shower that had me on wet tires for a full dry lap...car is a solid winner though, 3 laps in FM3 and crazy fast on the straights. Really a fun car to drive.

Then it was once again Lexus time, so I put on my ZENT racing attire and took on Sardegna first, and then Spa. All of this races obviously earned me a daily ticket which today was a 4* instead of the usual 3; things however didn't change since the Wheel of (Mis)Fortune made me rich with a 10000cr prize.

Ending the day on 6,1mil, still 4,4 to go.

Does it have cockpit view in GT7? Because I remember liking this car a lot in Sport, but the lack of cockpit view made me use it not that much (that's the view I always use). Btw I also use a Lexus to grind Sardegna and Spa, but I run the RC-F GT500 instead, wonderful car!
I can confirm it has cockpit view and its awesome to drive in that view in this car! 😀 👌

Been testing the Porsche 962C out at Sardegna. Making tuning adjustments and trying to get faster and faster. I can hut low 1:36's in the time trial, but in the actual race I'm struggling to get in the 1:36's. Lots of 1:37s and kne 1:36:975, but in qualifying I was hitting 36' with ease.

Anyway, my fastest time at Sardegna is currently 25:07, 17 seconds faster than I was with the Redbull X2019. I think there is more time to find, some more tuning tricks, better fuel management to get through the pits a couple seconds faster. I bet this car has sub-25's in it with me driving. I know the aliens could probably hit a sub-24 in it, but I'm not as good as them. I'm average at best.

On the Plus account, I used the (2015) Alpine VGT Race at Sardegna for the grind. The now-usual 3-star Wheel of Despair spewed out the low-showing 10,000 Cr. just like yesterday.

On the GTP account, I bought yet another Silvia spec-R for this week's WRS time trial. After that, I used a supercharger-equipped Corvette Gr.3 with a Praiano-based 730 PP tune (currently 729.02 PP) at Sardegna for the grind. It's a bit thirstier than I remember; I ran out of gas at the end of lap 15, but it still got the job done. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. as usual.

Took the Celica out on Tokyo and ran a 27 flat race. Unfortunately, touched the RX7 in the hairpin and it killed my clean race bonus. I'm going to work on a video for my grind with the Porsche at Sardegna as it's a nice car on that track. Not sure if I will be able to make it any faster than it is. If I did I would probably run in to fuel conservation issues that would require slower lap times making the overall race slower. So my goal is for a sub-25 minute race using better braking and turn in points. New goal for Tokyo will be sub 27 minute race with the clean race bonus. Probably buy a bunch of used cars with my winnings.

Took the Blackseries for a test on Le Mans, fully detuned to match the criteria with some ballast, FM 6 all the way and still hits 300+ kph on the backstraight, does 3 laps that way.
Sounds like a old German messerschmitts plane, is kind of heavy but handles quite nice!.
And such a good hoodcam, it's so wide that it completely fills the lower side of the screen i had a blast! 8 milion to go to full completion now :)

Last night, jumped into the BMW-McLaren F1 GTR, detuned to 800PP (543hp, 1000kg, aero tweaks) and ran it three times at Sardegna, to recover from the crippling financial hit of it's expense! I was at 130k credits when I started, and after three runs - varying from 25:40 to 25:53 - I was just over 2 million. It was 11:47pm so I decided to jump into another Gr.2 car for another run at Sardegna, to both get my mileage ticket and earn enough credits for the Shelby Cobra. And it's an absolute beast. Regular 1:39's, some 1:38's and a high 1:37, total time 25:12 on a one-stop mild fuel save strategy. Pushing hard, I think this thing might be capable of a sub-25 race time, but maybe not in my hands!

Had over 2.9m credits, so headed over to the LCD and picked up the Shelby Cobra. Then went over to the UCD to sell some unwanted duplicates, ended with over 600k credits.

Tonight: more Sardegna grinds, might get inventive with car choice (or might go back to my "earn credits with a manufacturer to finish off that manufacturer's collection" method...).

Have you tried the Porsche 962C at Sardegna? It's similar to the F1 GTR in its handling, mechanical grip and acceleration, but it has much better brakes. They still aren't the best brakes, but they outperform whatever crap is on the F1 GTR. I have been able to run consistent 36's in the time trial and did get a 1:35:7 last night with it, so there is definitely sub-25's in it. For $1.5M credits, it's a bargain.

I didn't find the brakes on the F1 GTR bad at all. I used the same braking points, if not 20-30m beyond what I use for the Gr.3 cars.

Today I raced a bit less, as the week has started again and work + poor sleep usually kills me. First thing I did, since I was already in my ZENT suit and driving my beloved RC-F GT500, was to run through Sardegna, and despite some really bad driving I lapped everyone but P2 to P5.

I then decided it was time to make a spreadsheet with all the cars I use to grind, together with the required fuel map and number of pit stops, because my memory is starting to fail myself (or because I'm using too many cars); opened the internet while doing this and saw that a YouTuber I'm subscribed to dropped a Z34 swap tune, so I immediately gave it a try. Turned out it's the fastest car I've ever taken around Sarthe, spun like 3-4 times and for just a couple of seconds I didn't have to run lap 8, never ever happened to me. What a machine!

20829191963146226.jpg

I then decided, for the sake of the spreadsheet, to run some of the cars I've been neglecting recently just to remember how they need to be raced, and so I ran once again Sardegna but with a more equal weapon, the Skyline Super Silhouette. Sure thing, it's no Lexus, but with RM tires and FM6 I managed to win the race easily with a one stop strategy. Ended 23s ahead of Portilla despite having been spun by Lopez on lap 3. Granpa is still holding its own against all those modern GT3s!

Last thing to mention was the usual 3* ticket to access the Wheel of (Mis)Fortune; today I was really lucky! 30k instead of the lowest 5k that was available! Now I'm really really rich!

Closing my GT day on 8,4 millions. 2.1 still remaining.

On the GTP account, I used the Cayman Clubsport in a 3-stop soaking-wet 6-lap laugher at Sarthe. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave a better-than-usual 30,000 Cr., though it was the low-showing prize.

On the Plus account, I once again found the Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.4 too slow in a dry race. Instead, I ran the Alfa Romeo 155 in a not-so-dry race. The 3-star Wheel of Despair gave the low-showing 10,000 Cr. for the third day in a row.

They may not be "bad" brakes but when compared to how great that car accelerates and handles, the brakes feel like a let down. At least at Sardegna they felt that way to me. The car may feel a lot better balanced on a different track. Either that or my concept of how a car should handle at Sardegna has been ruined by driving it so many times in the Red Bull X2019.

Not much, not feeling well today. I laid down qual laps for race B and C, tried to start the Alsace 1 hour and then the Spa 1 hour, but had to abort both.
Next I went into Missions and golded the 1 Lap Magic at Suzuka. I had just the right line at the end, cut the chicane a little, and sailed into first by a whisker.

Been tuning the Porsche 962 some more. Tried out some tunes here on the forum, but PD must have made some changes to the PP settings in the updates as these older tunes are now over the 800pp threshold for Sardegna. Anyway, my own tune is getting better by taking out some downforce and adding back a bit of power. Fastest test lap time is now 1:34:776, fastest in race lap time is 1:35:692 and fastest race time is 24:56:889. I still need to figure out a good fuel management strategy so I'm not dropping down to FM6 on laps 5 and 6 thinking I'll run out of fuel. More testing to be done.

Edit: And now I just hit a 26:46:750 at Tokyo in the Celica with a clean race bonus. Fastest lap in the 2:10's. Decided to push it a bit this time to see what was possible.

To be fair, if you've been driving the RBX2019 a lot, anything else will feel like it's brakes are made of sponge. That thing is beyond reality.

This is true. The X2019 is basically an F1 car. So I suppose a down tuned X2019 may have it's acceleration nerfed, even some of its handling nerfed, but its brakes are still performing at 100% since you can't adjust that. I guess I got so used to how that car felt going around the track that I expected something like the F1 GTR, which has better acceleration and top speed but similar handling and mechanical grip as the nerfed X2019 to have similar braking performance and that's simply not the case. It's unfortunate that you can't make any upgrades to the brakes to some of these aging top end race cars. Not even brake pads.

True... Although maybe that's more realistic than one might think??

Back on topic, last night I ran a single race at Sardegna in my Lexus LF-LC GT VGT, which has become my go-to for this race. Wearing a Toyota GT-One livery, it looks amazing, and consistently turns in 1:38's on a one-stop run.

After that, I processed a load of Scapes images and shared the first style in my 20-strong fleet of JTCC / JGTC Honda liveries on the Honda road cars (Civics, Integras, S2000's). It's over in my livery thread if you fancy a look (link in my sig). Then started taking a load of pics for the next Civic in line for it's showcase, to be shared tonight! Tongith will be another run or two at Sardegna, although this time I think I'll jump into the Nissan R92CP and continue adding to my Nissan collection.

Im saving for the gto. Yesterday was porsche day, as i did sardegna with a 962c. Im pretty sure i chose this car because someone here recommended it. Pretty fun and quick race! The le mans with the 917.

Today i did the Spa race with the gr2 lexus. As easy a win as you can get. Triple lapped everyone but the podium, in a 27lap race. Then to finish the day i did a daily c. Started 16th, finished 8th after a great race with lots of clean fighting.

Close to 20 mil, so i can buy the GTO. Then another 10 to go for the Mclaren...

Today, strangely enough, I gave the Lexus the day off and decided to drive the Bugatti VGT which I had bought for the menu, and had tuned some time ago with a setup from YouTube. Started with a quick Sardegna run as I didn't remember which is the ideal fuel map to race this car; turns out it's an easy FM1 user with a bit of shortshifting that can win the race easily with one stop, however it literally shreds tires especially on the front, since I've had to ballast it and had to put all the weight there. It's quick and easy to drive but it remains a 1600 kg race car, and you can feel it all. Still, won by lapping everyone from P6 onwards so can't complain, also it has a very cool cockpit view with the huge rear camera in the dashboard.

Despite this tire inconvenience, I decided to also bring it to Spa for the 1h race. The rain gave me a bit of a photo opportunity...

The same problems from Sardegna came out here as well, obviously, but since the car is so easy to drive and not prone to spin it can very well take on a few laps with fully worn tires. Just a lot of understeer to fight, but still was a fun race won by almost 2 minutes.

This 1,5 mil plus the 727500 from Sardegna meant one thing...

She's finally mine now and I'll definetly race this beauty in the upcoming days. All of this driving gave me a 4* Wheel of (Mis)Fortune ticket which rewarded me with customizable suspensions for the Porsche Cayman GT4 '17, which I have in my garage. So why the hell not?

20970690314885253.jpg

Snagged Praiano's 700pp tune and brought it to Sarthe, it's such a pleasure to drive even in the (very heavy) rain! Only downside is the fuel consumption which is quite high, you'll need FM4 and shortshifting to complete three laps and win with a 2-stopper. All in the spreadsheet now, obviously.

Ending the day a bit short of 900k, next Hagerty objective is the Shelby Cobra.

Did the World GT 800 championship with the 962 ran LeMans with the 787. Bought the 2000gt. Took the Castrol Supra to Watkins Glen for some time trials
