Jan 21st

- after a few days off the game, today I collected 2millions from the last TT and had a quick grind at Sardegna. Which gave me enough credits to buy the F40 and the Dino Ferrari.

I finally completed the horrible Fisherman Ranch circuit experience that I avoided for the past 10 months. Also, did a couple of Tokyo Express experiences that I was missing.

So now on my main account I have 100% circuit experience, 100% car collection progress, all races won, all missions won, all licences completed.

Time to push the second account now :D

Nothing yet, but going to play some sport mode, try the new TT there, do so,e more CE's, do a few liveries with the Gr. 2 cars and maybe take some pictures/scapes. But mostly miscellaneous stuff!

On the GTP account, I turned some laps at Autopolis in the Nissan Silvia spec-R for this week's WRS time trial. Before opening my 5,000-Cr. 3-star Wheel of Despair, I hit Sardegna with my RH-shod Honda NSX GT500 for some credits.

On the Plus account, despite a massive crash, I won going away at Sardegna with the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. The...wait for it...3-star Wheel of Despair's (7th of the last 14)...wait for it...5,000 Cr. didn't help much, but I still had enough to get both the Ferrari F40 and Nissan R92CP out of Hagerty's. That leaves 24 cars worth 232,450,000 Cr. to get.

Got punted endlessly on Race B in Sport and drove race C like an absolute noob. Then went on multiplayer and threw my polo GTi round for a bit

Did the spa 1 hour race for the 6 time today and just now I got my first Lamborghini invite. (Not Ferrari but it gives me a little hope at least) :)

Got tired of not being able to play because of the PS4/Fanatec freezing issue, so I broke down and bought a PS5. (Was going to happen eventually, but the bug expedited that decision). Downloaded the PS5 version of GT7 and entered a few daily race Cs. Happy to have made the switch over and was pleasantly surprised how seamless the transition between consoles was.

On the GTP account, I did a nip-and-tuck wet race at Sarthe with Haywood in the Ford Mustang Gr.4, still with an early @Jump_Ace-based tune. I was the only one to pit for rain tires (intermediates) on lap 2, while Haywood was among those who took intermediates on lap 3. The rain was such that I really should have taken full wets (I hydroplaned into skimming the wall on lap 4 and almost did the same on lap 5), as some of the other drivers did, and the fuel consumption was such that I had to pit on lap 5, taking a second set of intermediates and coming out 6 seconds back of Haywood. I barely made it to the finish line on lap 6 before the clock ran out, and still 2 seconds back of Haywood. He and I traded the lead throughout lap 7, and I finally got the lead for good in the Corvette curves.

The all-car 4-star Wheel of Despair gave a 2018 Subaru BRZ STI Sport...a couple days after I bought 2 more to have the 6 I wanted for future engine purposes. I didn't have enough to get the Ford GT Race Car needed for the new WRS time trial because of that, and wouldn't have had even if I flipped the latest one.

On the Plus account, I took the Alpine A220 to Sarthe for an easy win. I never saw so much yellow on the radar, so I pitted for full-wets on lap 2. I probably should have stayed on rain tires for lap 6, but I was running short of fuel and the rain was finally gone. Still, it was a 57-second win in 7 laps, and I was within sight of physically lapping the two backmarkers.

The no-cash 4-star Wheel of Despair disappointed worse than usual - it was my second Pagani invite in three days.

It was engine swap day today. I tuned up the Amuse 380 and the CSL. The Amuse was almost relaxing when detuned to 700pp and a monster maxed out,(1000 hp will do that). No bad habits at either tune.

The CSL is another great swap. Also excellent at 700pp and maxed out.

Ran them at LeMans with both tunes. Got 30k from the wheel.

Today I tackled the Group 1 race at Daytona, 10 laps, normal difficulty. I thought I would have no chance with my Group-C cars against all the LMP1's and the Gran Turismo VGT cars, but tried it anyway. To my surprise I won with the Jaguar XJR-9 and Nissan R92CP quite easily. Used medium tires and made a pit stop at lap #5, fuel mapping 1.

With the XJR9 I won with a 16 second lead, mostly because with my tune it did 340 km/h on the straight, with the R92CP I won by 5 seconds, it was much slower at the straights because I used a max downforce setup.
Also the Group-C cars held up with the LMP's in corner speed, I just had to make sure to reduce camber to 0.5. Going above 0.5 results in massive understeer in slow corners.

Ran Sardegna with the Porsche 962C and the Nissan R92CP. I'm faster in the time trials with the Porsche but in the race I'm faster in the Nissan. Anyway, just trying out some new cars to grind with so I can buy the Mazda 787b, Jaguar XJR-9 and the Superbird. Maybe another F40 for the future engine swap.

I learned that having a high end turbo is about 1,000% more important than better tires when playing in lobbies

I bought the 787b and the SuperBird from the LCD, did some Sardegna and 1Hr Spa races and now I have the credits (7 million!) needed for the next two cars that are supposed to show up in the LCD (the Corvette racer concept and the Sauber C9). Glad I was able to get so many awesome Group C and LM cars so soon after buying the game, very happy to see the 787b today, loved that car way back when I played GT3 and GT4. Disappointed that the Escudo is unobtainable, I imagine it doesn’t do 800 mph wheelies like in GT3 though…

Did a few grinds at Sardegna in the Jag F-Type Gr.3 and the Lexus LF-LC, then sold some unwanted cars.

The Jag is a monster at Sardegna. High RPM turbo, short shifting at bottom of redline, with RM tyres and FM2, managed numerous low 1:38s, regular 1:39s, and it's now my second fastest Gr.3 race time (25:43).

Gave my Lexus a new outfit and took it out for a couple runs. Predictably reliable and so easy to drive. But I need to work out how to conserve hybrid energy longer...

Then went off to the UCD and sold the Chaparral 2J (because I don't like driving an aircon unit) and the Bugatti Veyron to free up some more credits.

Then off to Scapes land to take some shots of my latest Honda Civic livery.

Tuned my Suzuki VGT Gr 3 and ran around Suzuka. Very easy and fun to drive. Also got a good prize from a 4-Star, the Mach Forty!

Saw the 787B was up for grabs so I snagged a second one and made a GT4 throwback style livery for it. I took a little creative liberty.
All the liveries I've made are shared and editable except the Raptor one. It's waiting on me to fix the BTech logos.

On the Plus account, I ran out of fuel on the final straight of the final lap at Sardegna with the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II, but still comfortably won. The insulting 3-star Wheel of Despair was even more insulting than usual, spewing forth a height-adjustable suspension.

On the GTP account, I used the elderly Supra GT500 for a strange win at Sardegna. Up until my last lap, the fast time was set by Fraga, who finished 2nd. The usual fast two (Beauvois and Portilla) were both slow, and both pitted on lap 14.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the usual lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. At least it wasn't some useless part. I grabbed 2 more Superbirds, threw Hellcat engines in them, and widened one of them.

After a weekend spent playing Jedi Fallen Order, tonight I went back to GT7. Last time I played I used the 917 Living Legend, and since I was still wearing my Porsche suit I decided to bring it to Spa 1h. The car is wonderful, my driving and especially my tire strategy was not, ended struggling with dry tires on wet track, and soon after the other way around, eventually went for the third pit stop to get back on hards and went full bananas on FM2 to try and regain on the leaders. Was almost sure it would be a 3rd place when Beauvois pitted and Kokubun turned out to be closer than I thought. I passed him on lap 22 and as soon as I did that I realized that my full bananas stint left me with no fuel, so I went immediately to FM6 and started using 8th gear A LOT. Last two laps were slower than my work commute, but eventually won the race by just six seconds.

This is the very moment when I took the lead and realised I had no more fuel. Was very fun though, tense but fun. After that I decided to take for a spin one of my oldest cash cows, the 3000GT Twin Turbo with a 700pp Sarthe tune.

20970638440970150.jpg

It was a mildly wet race, nothing that the 3000GT cannot take on due to the great traction it has. Still, it's a heavy car and tends to go berserk when braking at high speeds. Also managed for the first time ever to do a one stop with this car, a lot of shortshifting and lifting required but this way I won by a minute.

These two wins meant that it was time to head to Hagerty to buy one of my favourite cars...

20230123_231656.jpg

Put the proper Silk Cut livery on it and tried it out in Road Atlanta, but the car felt very underperforming compared to the LM55 and the 962...dunno, maybe it's just me, maybe it needs a proper tune, but it was a huge struggle with understeer even on RM tires. If someone has some suggestions, do send them to me please! Would love to win with this car too!

The Wheel of (Mis)Fortune gave me a 4* ticket which boosted my balance incredibly, with 30k credits.

Is that the one with the Mustang? If so, that one is tough. That car is very unstable in my hands.
Yes it is, yeah it took me at least 15 times to perfect that lap attack, I just had to do trial and error. Worth the extra money IMO.

Took the covers off my GT by Citroen and Shelby 427. Practically untuched since purchase. Both required some tuning. The GT is great for 700PP Turbo races and the Shelby is decent for the American FR or 700PP races.
