Have they changed the Tomahawk Tokoyo Expressway combination?

I have followed the instructions to a tee, and I cannot get my Tomahwak to under 800 PP.

The best result I've had so far is second, using the Aston Martin One-77.

But I simply can't catch the NSX on the straights.
Play around with the ballast and ecu in single steps.

Does the daily posters have some suggestions for my next Spa 24 Hours car?

Went back for a couple of races, had a weird one with Rubilar at the 1hr Spa, he just didn't pit!

Anyone else witnessed this behaviour?
Rubilar failed to pit at Serdegna yesterday. He did the last 10 laps at 50mph. That's a real hazard at some points.

F50

I only had time to do the Monza race yesterday but that car is a lot of fun and very easy to drive.

Finally won the Gr.3 PP730 race t Suzaka and found my car of choice for those races - the AMG GT3 '16.
Had to drop ECU down to about 96% to get under 730. What a lovely, lovely car. Fast, handles well, sounds great!

Tried the final lap for bronze at Nordschleife, didn't do it - bronze here is harder than gold in GTS, I swear!

Bought another Gr. 3, the BMW Sprint version - twitchy, don't like it and regret buying. The blurb said it was renowned for its stability and handling - there are better Gr3s I think (especially the AMG GT3!).

Won an exhaust on the wheel of fortune....

I recreated the simple livery for the F50 from NFSIV High Stakes

Finally bought every GR1 Car that is available , just leaves me with 3 more cars on my GR1 wanted list from the Legends Dealer .

Tested the 962C against well another two of them , plus 3 919 4 Toyota Hybrids 4 Peugeot HDI Fap and 6 R18's .

Set the Opposition to their hardest difficulty and 6 Laps at LeMans with the chicane's .

Dawn Start in last place took me till lap 5 to catch the leader at the end of the race 4 cars with me in the lead just crossed the line in under 5 seconds .

Was a close race and I enjoyed every second of it .

Sitting at around 26Million CR so have enough to buy them cars when they appear .

Pretty much done with the daily grinding for credits now , just going to tune and race at selected events till the next update arives .

Finished off the Tokyo Counter Clockwise CE’s, Central took some doing, that’s Asia and Oceania 100% gold along with America, only Nords Lap sitting on silver and all of Sardegna windmills on bronze left to worry about. For my troubles I got a 4* roulette ticket which gave me a Porsche invitation!!! bloody useless, I’d rather a 1* 5,000 credits

Tried the 800pp sports car race in an Audi R8 @ Maggiore - not sure how well I was doing (was top 3 but off-sequence from pitting) because I decided to quit after wrecking from hitting the bump out of the esses on lap 5 with old tires. Can PD patch that bump on the next update? LOL!

Moved onto CE as I haven’t really touched those yet. Started in the Americas on the left side of the map and was cruising with golding those trials. Most difficult one I thought actually was Northern Isle, just got gold after many attempts with that ill-handling car.

Wondered how my sub 100 hp Cappuccino would do against some much bigger cars, so I entered the Asia-Oceana Championships. 3rd at Tokyo, 4th at Fuji and an impressive 7th at a rainy Mt Panorama after a slide cost me one place. This might be the car that I max the odometer on first. With careful throttle management and line choices you can eliminate a lot of braking. I might have to turn all of my tiny cars into mini beasts lol. It's the most fun part of GT7 for me.

I can't remember if I forgot to do a post yesterday or not, so anyhow, over the past two days I bought
  • Third Golf I GTI '83 at the Used Lot, plus
  • A112 Abarth '85
  • Second Dino 246 GT '71 (!)
  • 2x additional Silvia Q's '88
  • Third NSX Type R '02
  • Porsche 356 GS Carrera '56 at Hagerty's, plus
  • Ferrari F50 '95
  • Ford Mark IV Race Car '67
I also popped a four star ticket and won a Dodge Hellcat Safety Car, which wasn't bad.

Then I did the Tomahawk Chop on Blofeld, with some additional racing with Lamborghinis. I was going to try a Porsche 997 Tuesday, but the Diablo caught my eye, and I washed it and hadn't done a thing with it yet. So off to the tune shop we went, where I souped it up into a 599PP monster, or so I hoped. At GT Auto I applied a bit of a tuner livery, which I tweaked a bit the following day.

Years ago, I saw a photo of a Diablo in a golden ochre, and ever after thought it was the perfect color for the Italian Stallion - er, Raging Bull. I managed to get a color I liked on it, but the chocolate graphics I applied seemed a bit too strong, so I tried white, which was okay, but I wanted a more subtle contrast. I settled on a darker ochre which came out kind of a caramel color, but suited it well, though I forgot to change the WTC500 custom logo.

It proved to be a capable if sometimes twitchy car, and it required a few do overs to get past some oversteer wallbang penalties. I ended up doing four races with it as it was a fun car to guide through curves and between opponents. I came in second to Blofeld the first race, but then won the following three. I closed off the day with a Tomahawk run on him to have some fun with the evildoer.

Yesterday I changed a few things on the livery. I also noticed that Praiano had a tune which involved two stage weight reduction, which I managed to modify a bit with more power than his milder 330ish, and a few tweaks to suspension and LSD to suit my style. Here are some pics of the little devil at work.

Diablo-001.jpg

Initially, even with around 360hp I had trouble working through the pack, but I stuck with her and managed to gradually make some progress. Igor and Mikail in their respective chariots were a bit of a handful at first, but I reeled them in around turns and surpassed them. Naturally, Blofeld and S'willo were way too far ahead to test their mettle, but I'm sure they would show me up handily. Then after drafting my way through the field for a few laps, and some helpful pitting from the others, it was time to wrangle with Rose towards the end in her capable RE Amemiya-tuned RX-7.

Me passing her at the peak turn.

Her passing me back in the tunnel...

Back n forth it went for a while until she had to pit on lap 11, and I was alone in first for the last two. I used fuel map 1 the whole race, and with some short shifting and long gear use, I didn't have to pit once. What a lovely car.

Then I switched to the Tomahawk for a couple of races, since I'd spent myself down to about 7 million, and needed to build up some funds for upcoming "bargains" at Hagerty's and the Dealerships. Rose was accommodating, though I was a little rusty at first and accrued a few penalties, and a few tail end smashes when I wasn't mindful of traffic which earned me some chastisement from her. The last race, I had edged up beside her on the last lap after teasing her to race faster, staying just a few car lengths in front. But going down into the tunnel I was reminding her that Grady in his Audi R8 was just behind us, which she shrugged off. Then as I was flirting with her, I let slip a little something about marriage, and her speed dropped quite a lot. I tried to edge her closer to the wall, but Grady slid past her before I could shut that door. Rose didn't seem to mind at all.

James has been grumping that he thinks the Aston DB5 isn't quite right, as he had better luck dealing with Goldfinger's henchmen years ago. I reminded him that he lost a game of chicken against a mirror in which he wall-pitted himself. This earned me a typical Bond razzing, as he reminded me how much I hated Tokyo until I finally came to terms with it. Meh, know-it-all. I think Felix is on board with this thing, so hopefully we can give our friend from Universal Exports Ltd a run for his shillings.

To start today, I took another look at the cars I plan to use for the Alsace One Hour and the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour. Respectively, I had originally planned to use a BMW 3.0 CSL '71 and a Ford Mustang GT '15. But I'm a bit concerned about repeating the mistake I made with the Deep Forest One Hour, so I searched for any similarly-eligible cars that could get close the respective PP limits on the hardest compounds available for each race, so that I could also use a car with more power - as stock. Unfortunately, I didn't have much luck, though my Ferrari 308 did get above 430 PP on the Comfort Hards. On the other hand, though, Alsace and the Kyoto Driving Park seem to be a bit more curvier than Deep Forest, so maybe a softer compound would pay off for these two cars. I do want to try to use a car that's entirely stock for each of these endurances, without any tuning parts bought/equipped, beyond some alternative tire compound options.

Although, all this being said, I do recall the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour asking for "Professionally Tuned" cars. Could this make my stock Mustang GT '15 ineligible, even if I've simply bought and equipped additional tire compounds? Maybe I'll take a second look at some of my cars, pick an alternative for each event, and tune/customize each one. Heck, I already have an additional Ferrari 308 that I've already modified to well above 450 PP, so maybe I'll begin by tinkering with that.

So now that I've done every race I can do with my Mustang Gr.4 for now, I decided to move onto the Gr.3 events, with plans to complete the GT Cup Gr.3 events before moving onto the WTC 800. I began with taking a look at the currently available events at Daytona, where I found something interesting. There is both a round of the GT Cup Gr.3 and the WTC 800 there, and both are ten laps, with very minute differences in fuel/tire rate multipliers, but the GT Cup Gr.3 event has a first place prize of 200k, whereas it's slightly over 150k for the WTC 800 race. Weird.

Anyway, I decided to use the Corvette Gr.3 that I won from the missions, and initially, I tried using Racing Mediums. After merely placing 4th, I realized that much like the Deep Forest One Hour, I should switch to Hards while increasing the power. Now, I only have the supercharger equipped on my 800 PP build that I plan to eventually use for the WTC 800, and even on Racing Softs, that build can use the maximum power and no additional weight while still being below 800 PP. For the 730 PP build, I didn't have it equipped, as I had it set up to allow all three racing compounds while staying under 730 PP. But now that I saw that I couldn't get a podium on Racing Mediums, and with Racing Hards making me very much below 730 PP even with maximum power and no ballast, I decided to equip the supercharger, then drastically lower the power while adding a little ballast, and sure enough, I reached just below 730 PP again. However, this time, I had much more power - I think it was 699 HP!

On to the race, I found it odd that when I pitted exactly halfway through, I was clearly in first, ahead of a Genesis X Gr.3 and an NSX Gr.3, but when I came out, I was behind them. Then again, I did change my tires when I think I could've easily foregone that, and I think I needed about 10% more fuel, too. Nevertheless, I was still able to catch up to those two and win the 200k, plus an additional 100k for a clean race.

I then obtained a four-star ticket, from which I won a racing muffler for the RX-7 Spirit R, so that's nice.

You can paint them ;) It's a bit convoluted, got to buy the paint first, then create a livery just to paint the car. Save the (not) livery and apply it to change the color. I painted the F50 in Rosso Corsa, got to have all my raries in red!
I know I can re-paint cars, but I really prefer to have the preferred color as-stock, especially if I don't plan to modify that car. As for the F50, I think I'll wait for Argento Nurburgring as the other color I want aside from Rosso Corsa.

Driving for the sheer pleasure of the experience, not the rewards

Also, working on re-creating my Centennial Grand Sport from the game’s ZR-1.

The insurmountable limitations include not being able to cover the ZR-1 badges, the supercharger or being able to re-color the brake calipers.

In the category of “difficult“, but not impossible is the re-creation of the B-pillar adornment below…pardon the water marks.

EDIT: Here's the challenge - https://www.corvsport.com/2012-centennial-edition-corvette/

Bought the Ford Mark IV and put some frontward ballast on it to qualify it for the WTC700 events.

It is a hoot to drive, though you have to feather the throttle since it is an older prototype racer that can snap very easily.

Finished the WTC700 Championship in the Mark IV with an overall victory. 1st at Trial Mountain, 1st at Barcelona, 3rd at the Nurburgring 24h loop. I had first place after passing the frontrunners on the Dottinger-Hohe straight, but I got slammed from behind by AI Yamanaka’s Supra (AI didn’t realize that I have older brakes) and it caused me to spin out and lose a few positions. I did catch AI Solis’ 4C just before crossing the line and took the podium finish. One fricken hell of a race for sure!

Won Spa 1hour with the Renault RS01. Absolutely torrential rain from lap 15 onwards. Reminded me of last seasons F1 race at Spa.
Nothing new in used or legends
Tried learning to create my own liveries.... Needs work😔

I sort of have an update. Not that I played GT7 again today, but I think I've narrowed down which cars I'll be using for the Alsace One Hour and the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour. For the former, I have a Ferrari 308 that I've already modified, so I'm going to put on some Comfort Hards, then tinker with its power/weight to see if I can get it just under 450 PP. As for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I'm thinking of taking a spare Ferrari 458 Italia that I won from the menus - it's Giallo Modena - then solely equipping Sports Hards, and also buying a ballast and power limiter. As stock, the 458 comes in at over 610PP, though I can't remember which tires it comes equipped with. But with some extra weight and limits on power, I could see it potentially working out.

However, regarding the Ferrari 308 I plan to use for the Alsace One Hour, it seems that even as-stock, it's already above the 450 PP limit. But I do have other candidates, including the Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71, as I do have a spare. Then there's a Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10) that I've already customized - including the installation of a widebody - but I haven't done much tuning to it, so that also might work.

Then, for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I could use the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) that I won from the menus. I may not have a spare of this one, but I can easily get another at Brand Central. Besides, I want the R34 that I leave as-stock in Millennium Jade, and the one I have is in Bayside Blue. I also have a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X that I also won from the menus, but it was white instead of red, so I've already installed a widebody on the white one, as I plan to paint it Dandelion Yellow. Otherwise, like the KPGC10, I've only customized it, without doing much tuning, so it could still work. Yet another candidate could be the Ford Focus ST '15 or Ford Focus RS '18, as both come quite a bit below 550 PP, though the ST could very well end up getting more parts installed; it comes in at a mere 490 PP as stock.

So let's recap my candidates:

Alsace One Hour
Ferrari 308 GTB
Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71
Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10)

Kyoto Driving Park One Hour

Ferrari 458 Italia '09
Ford Focus ST '15
Ford Focus RS '18
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Final Edition
Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

Definitely seems like a three-way fight between Ford, Ferrari, and Nissan to win my interest.

I’ve basically dropped to doing Tokyo with the Tomahawk once a day and that’s all.

Waiting for fun content updates and a total revamp of this games’ absolutely AWEFUL reward/payout system. Custom races need to be a lot more rewarding for starters…

Build your own with custom races, well worth a look. Money is rubbish but the racing is fun!
These two comments summarise my feelings succinctly.

The game is amazing, and the possibilities are endless... even with the current content and other limitations. And the Custom Race function is truly great (but it could also still be a lot better, e.g. Custom Championships/Events etc.) BUT...

...the entire exercise is undermined by the pathetic payouts in Custom Races that basically mean that the time you are willing to commit to these events is tainted by the fact that you are not making any progress in the rest of the game, which you need to grind the same events in order to achieve. There are already plenty of activities in GT7 that take up a lot of time and pay nothing - which is fine - but it's a great shame that Custom Races don't pay out equivalent amounts to other Events, because that fact alone is enough to deter people from doing them and see them resort to grinding instead.

It's so frustrating, and I personally expect a tad more from a beloved franchise that has been running for 25 years already, that someone, anyone within the PD/Sony command chain might fathom that setting such a wonderful part of the game in direct opposition to what most people want to achieve (i.e. progress) is a fundamental flaw.

Nothing. I really hate to admit this to myself, but I am bored with the game and need a break to - hopefully - get rejuvenated. Nothing on 1P sounds fun and this week's Daily races got stale really quickly. Daily B kept me interested enough to do a few a day but the whole e-brake round T3 is so stupid... this is a race, not Gymkhana. BRB, going to yell at the clouds now.

This is why I also have other GT games and a Nintendo Switch on hand. Just playing GT7 with its many flaws and lack of content is burning me out, though I enjoyed the hell out of the Mark IV GT40 today.

The current state of things tells you how seemingly little PD give a damn. Maybe we get a huge update next week or something, but right now, I am deeply concerned.

Haven't driven my Mark IV yet. Think I only drove the 330 P4 once. Only 3 Million more credits to grind before I can buy the XJ13 which I probably also won't drive.

Today's grind was with the glorious S15. I dived into the pits at the end of lap 2 as a wall of water swept across the track. You know you've made the right strategy choice when you come out of the pits 30s down on the leader and finish that lap 1:10 ahead of him. Finished lap 6 a good 2 mins clear of second place - I could have waited it out and finished the race there, but decided to put in a fast final lap on RMs and crossed the line just about to lap the last-placed Audi TT.

Not sure how much more energy I have to keep endlessly repeating the same few races. If there's not way more content by the time my Platinum drops, I'm definitely buying into something else. Just a handful more Sport races, a couple of body rigidity increases and an old Jag to go... Get your skates on, Polyphony!
