What did you do in GT7 today?

There's plenty to choose from but I found the Jag and Aston Gr.4s are easy drives, fast and if you put to FM3 will give you 3 laps. After second stop on lap 6 you can whack the FM down to 1 to let 'er rip! Rain allowing, of course. Oh, those cars had turbos added at the tuning shop....
Interesting, I' ll try those. Thanks!

Did the crappy VGT races today. On Interlagos, I did 7 laps all 1:35s in the BMW (because it's the only VGT that doesn't look like a spaceship designed by a 12 year old); at the end of the first lap, I was 24s behind, then 20s at the end of lap 2, then 12s, then 8s (so far, so good - might be on for a win), then 8s again, then 8s again, then suddenly caught up with the Peugeot on lap 7, and overtook for third in the wiggly turn 8-10 section, pulled away a bit, then it ignited its magical VGT rockets and overtook me just before the finish line at about 200mph.

Finished 4th so I'll have to do that race again, but it won't be today.

The rubber-banding on this game, as with so many other features, is so badly judged as to be almost comical. It's getting to the point where I suspect Kaz the clown is doing it on purpose.

3-star ticket, lowest value prize of 10k, again. 😐

Tried the Suzaka Gr1 (cafe menu) yet again, twice. First go managed to get up to 2nd by end lap 6 in the Tomahawk Gr1. That's a real improvement for me. Pitted for fuel and changed the tyres, another set of RH as no rain seen on radar.

Half way through lap 7 it chucked it down. Magically the AI must have foreseen the rain, because many whizzed past me while I struggled to keep the car in a straight line.
Gave up.

Second attempt, drove very aggressively (who cares about clean race bonus on such a low prize???) and was in the lead during lap 5. I was amazed. :)
Pitted, for some odd reason as I had another lap of fuel, and came out 7th. There was a smattering of rain, but no worries.

I tried as hard as I could, hoped the cars in front needed to pit, but they didn't and I only managed 4th. 7 seconds behind winner, just under 4 behind 3rd. Gutted.

EDIT - forgot, took the Superbird 70 for its first outing today, Route X. Came last, just over 3 minutes behind winner. ;)

Completed menu book 42 with the Bugatti VGT, this car is one of my personal favorites.

After that I did the Human Comedy mission at Autopolis, it was quite the transition going from the Bugatti to the S660 but it was a fun race, until the AI seemingly gave up in the third stint.

Tried the Trial Mountain One Hour today, got third. I think if I played around with my FM, I could've avoided a second pitstop. I won a two-star ticket which netted me 30k credits, which wasn't too bad. Then I bought that blue Porsche 356 Speedster for 1.5m credits, so I still have over 19m credits left. (I'm waiting until the McLaren F1 specifically shows up in Base Silver or Historic Orange.) Definitely gonna give that endurance another try next time.

Finished getting gold in all the drift missions... every other mission has been gold for 6 weeks... thank god these are done, I never want to drift again. I don't know how many hours I put into Intermediate 2 and Advanced, but it's ridiculous and still felt like more luck than skill. Only the first drift mission was "fun" and was able to feel locked in with that one and score 10200+ pts.

I've got a few hours of grinding to do then I'll have the credits to buy the last three cars when they show up.

So I've actually played the game and tried a few races I've not done to get 1st places.
Mini at Goodwood and the Pre 79 Human Comedy race. Been upgrading a few cars now I have spare credits.

Will finish the remaining dirt races tomorrow with a few Le Mans for credits

Nothing much, really. Did not spend any credits today on cars or tuning.

Tried a lot of different tunes at 700 PP for the 30 minutes Le Mans. Which was fun. After that, doing some races in online lobbies with friends.

Mixed bag today, finally did some Mission Challenges andf then thought I would do the usual two money grind races at Sardenga and Le Mans.

Only I got beat by some 45+ seconds from the Ai in 1st place, now granted I did have the game on Hard difficulty at one point today but are the AI really that good on the Hardest difficulty in game?

It kinda dented my mood to do any more attenmpts today....

Some AI observations from today. WTC 800 and WTC 730 appear to have the identical Easy/Normal/Hard AI setup, although I do not think Hard is working properly on Maggiore 730 as it does not appear any different than normal. WTC 800 5 race championship also appears to be using the same setup. If you chose a stock GR3 with Racing Hard, you should be able to enter any of these events around 720pp or so and use Easy for Bronze, Normal for Silver, and Hard for Gold. The lead driver should be "mirroring" line needed for that time, although again I am pretty sure Hard was not working on Maggiore 730. Just check the gold time on Circuit experience, and that is what you need for Hard on WTC 800 using a stock 725pp Racing Hard. 730 With "chili" peppers is the same, now with no option for turbo. Previously, I have been using High RPM turbo for WTC800, but I am getting bored of this setup.

Also, since "meta" Sport Mode usually is going to revolve around a GR3 that is unaffected or barely affected by BOP changes, it's probably a reasonable place to start working there as well with a stock GR3. The New 950 PP GR1 should work the same. Gr010 Stock is just 3 PP above its BOP setting and should need gold to beat Hard without any turbo added. The LM55 drops to 908PP after BOP and is overpowered. I didn't see any option to add BOP changes and while I was able to mimic the HP and Weight, I was not able to adjust the Toque settings to match. I think I am going to organize around this setup.

I have just spent the last couple days setting up the farming script. Ironically, it's been more entertaining than playing :D

To be clear, I am only doing this because I am optimistic that things will get better, that online will become better...worst case scenario, I can lap by myself :P

Oh boy oh boy.....what a mission I had embarked on today when playing GT7.

I decided to do some CE 's on tracks like Kyoto Park and Alsace, Sardegna, tackling those a little then did some missons like the Inter and Expert drift challenges which I'm edging towards a Gold day by day.

Then I thought hey, why dont I tackle that Tokyo Expressway 600PP race. Now this race has had me fuming for two reasons for a very long time:

1 - The Penalty system is Bo***cks, even if the dumb AI hit/shunt me and I slide into the wall I get the Penalty! WTF?

2 - There is either a rubber band effect or the 600PP restriction is very unrealistic on the opponent cars.

But anyway I digress, I had to do this event three times to with multiple cars till I hit the jackpot. Firstly tried it with my GT86 Rally car and some tweaks to get settings to get under 600PP, kept getting a slow pace on the straightaway so it didn't work out, got 13th first then 9th.

Then I remebered my R34 sitting in the garage and thought maybe this could work. The car had Comfort tyres and Sport Mediums, I tried the comfort but they didnt work too slippy and not enough grip in the corners. I exited then reset to the Sports Tyres and feel better in the race.

I was holding the pack on the straightaway with a slight detune as the Skyline R34 had the pull even though there is an equally powerful R35 which runs slower with the AI? Anyways, this race was so intense, I started leading by the 5th or 6th lap as Gallo pitted to do a change, luckily the Skyline has decent fuel consumption to last me till Lap 8. The single pit ws the most nerve racking as myself and AI Gallo pitted and it felt liek forever to get back out but I interuppted the fueliing to ls to the reaminder of fuel and starting fighting the supra on the staet lien straight. A little back and forth battling with the front of the pack, and it was really intense driving. Started to get tired but perserved as already had done it like three times beforehand.

Second to last lap, I can't remember have to check the saved replay, but someone pitted and I was up two places chasing Hizal in the Scooby Tuned 22B and the Honda NSX. I only had 1.2 laps left in fuel by the hairpin and pushed forward so played with my fuel maps throught out the last lap (12) and managed to fend off the AI racers behind me.

On the last turn the NSX AI ran wide and say my opporutnity, split second reaction, hears me chance, I pulled round and floored it on 0.2 laps worth of fuel and just nailed the win with a meaty photo finish. (Will post pics/footage later)

Was over the frikking moon to complete this race, got a lovely clean race bonus and netted 825,000CR for my efforts.

Very chuffed and a great race to test my limits! :D

Well done! I've been looking for a car to possibly have a go at doing a legit attempt at this race after my Tomhawk days so I guess I will give the Skyline a go and see how I do with it following your post.

I fired up the Plus account first, and sent the 2007 BMW M3 to dominate the Nurburgring European FR Challenge that the 2003 M3 took 2nd in. I then woke up the R32 for the WTC 600 there and found it too slow, even after applying Praiano's latest 600 PP tune and adapting it for SH tires. I next brought out the Citroen GT that had been crushing the 600 PP races and found out that Haywood and his Huracan is too quick if left out front. I finally got a race where he was stuck in the back and eked out a win. My 1-star marathon roulette got me the usual low-cash prize, in this case an injury-to-insult 2,000 Cr.

Over on the GTP account, I did the Tokyo grind with the R33 tune from yesterday and FM 1, pitted on lap 9, and got a 10-second win (normal difficulty). Got insulted with 5,000 Cr. (the low cash prize) from the 3-star marathon roulette.

Do the Gr.1 at Suzuka.
The only way I could win this one was if it rained at the end of lap 2 or 3 as that VGT car driven by wilk is too fast.
On the plus side, he spun out just before pit entry so he was forced to trundle around on slicks when the track was 70% wet.
The other AI pitted safely for wets, but because going off the racing line is dangerous they didn't pass.
Wilk is lead car of the Ineptitude Train.

I only had an hour and a half to do some grinding and my daily marathon this morning since I was going on a railfan trip.

Finally snagged my 2:07 lap in the red Godzilla on the final lap of my third run around Tokyo this morning. 2:07.6 to be specific. I knew I could churn that one out since my optimal time was a 2:07. Feels good when you connect all of the best sectors together to form that blistering lap you want.

My daily marathon reward, of course, was not the best: 10,000 credits.

So I spent yesterday trying to complete the final Human Comedy mission at Lake Maggiore. I've decided that I'm just a crap driver coz I've tried so many different cars on all difficulty levels, and every time I just get punted off by the AI at some point.

AI difficulty setting doesn’t apply to that mission as far as I know. I tested a few cars, results here. I would try BRZ. But it’s a challenge for sure.

Jumped on to do my daily WTC 800 at Sardegna withe the 787b. 25min later had a fresh 725k got 3star roulette well and collected the usual terrible prize.

Created lobby on Sarthe for Mondays league race. 5 people showed up so we did a bit of testing, then 1 full race. After that we created new lobby and ran some laps on high speed ring with cars we don't usually mess with. Not a bad nught

I did try the Trial Mountain One Hour a second time yesterday. This time, I mostly kept my fuel map to 4, which did indeed keep me from pitting more than once. And I did place 2nd as a result, with much less time between the leader and I. So it does seem that my strategies are getting better.

I think the one thing I need to try is using Sports Softs instead of Sports Mediums, while still only pitting once. That could be why some records on the leaderboard show 30 laps when my current best is 28 laps.

As for today, I think this afternoon I’ll do more circuit experiences. Specifically in Asia/Oceania, as I only have Fuji, Suzuka, and Autopolis remaining when it comes to that region. Funny enough, those three also use each of the GT500 cars from 2016. I think I can handle it, though, considering I’ve already done the three Circuit Experiences that use Gr.1 cars, being the ones for St. Croix, Le Mans, and the Sardegna Road Track.

At any rate, I think I’ll save the Nurburgring Nordschleife for last, though I’ve already done the GP course. I also might nab a Testarossa from the UCD, depending on the color.
