Completed the 2 last menus, K-Cup with a toptuned car that i really should have bought a proper gearbox for, but it worked.

Completed the K-Cup races in a 399.98pp Honda Beat, which was not easy. Then attempted to do the VGT races. Wasted 1 million credits on a LM55 VGT before I realized I couldn't use it. Tried the BMW VGT on Soft tires and full downforce. Couldn't manage better than 3rd. Think I'll wait to do the last race for a bit...
Bought the BMW VGT, it's a 757pp with Soft Racing Tires (didn't touch anything else), but i guess i can't buy any tuning parts for it?
So.. i thought that would be interesting considering i lacked almost 100pp to the max.
But, i absolutely love this car, it's on rails and i got 1st place on the 2 first races and the last one, i messed up on the 5th lap, or i think i would have nailed that one to. Unlike the K-CUP that wasn't really my.... CUP OF TEA i will return with the BMW to settle the score in the last race..

Received a 1 star ticket, and a cool 2000 credits.
The 6 star card from the menu book featured 2 very cool cars, naturally i got the 500.000 i guess i should be thankful i didn't get the 30k or whatever small change they also had on the wheel of misfortune..

Re-ran the Interlagos and Kyoto crappy VGT races. Added RS slicks this time which was the only available upgrade and gained me 2s per lap on Interlagos getting me into the lead on the penultimate lap. Almost got pitted by the inept, warp-speed Porsche at the end of lap 6, luckily saved by the pit wall. Decided to safeguard my lead by playing equally as dirty and launched him onto the grass at turn 1. 🖕

6-star menu book ticket: 500k, 2-star daily ticket: 5k. Meh, nothing I really want to buy any more anyway.

Porsche VGT strikes...

Revenge is a dish best served... as early as possibly in the final lap... 👿

Decided to venture into Sport lobbies (backstory, I didn't play GTS, but did play every other GT up till then so my rating are low in Sport- I did this early in GT7 on & could not believe the level of dumbassery in there!)

First race Dragons Tail - Got pole, we took off at turn 2 got divebombed by 2 WRX, survived up the hill got obliterated by another car put back to P9. Watched carnage unravel at Death Chicane pretty much every lap -finished 5th
2nd Race- Learned my lesson and took turn 2 super defensive- after that I got big enough lead no worries- P1
Race 3 decided on Daytona- not too bad, couple over aggressive folks not knowing to bump draft, finished P3 All in all solid Sport races-

Did 2 grind races at Sardegna with the 787b- easy wins 1.4million in the bank decided to get Mclaren P1 from dealerships. Shoulda known better! Super fast, but like a pig on skates! Oh well:grumpy:

Hopped back on last night with the league for Monday Race Practice- Solid 8 or so jumped on. Realized I hate rain driving on my G29
switched back to controller. Had a blast with the guys and got my stat finalized for tonight's race. Hoping for podium, but top 5 would still keep me in the hunt for series podium.

Hope everyone else had some fun too!

Took the BMW VGT to the SPA ONE MILLION credits race, turns out it got a huge petroltank easy able to do 8 laps without any heavy fuel saving. As usual the weather is a heavy player in this race, and i am yet to try a dry race here..

Started on Mediums, that was a mistake, they were gone before i needed to pit for wets, so 2 laps on used up mediums and almost a lap on heavy wets before they were really needed.. costly mistakes. When i finally needed the wets it took some time to find the limits, funny enough, it has a weird gearing for the 2nd gear, just like in GT-Sport and no way to change it.

At least i nailed the change to Hard tires and took some time out of the the leading car, forgot to check the weather, so i was caught on the same tires when it started to rain.. again, pitted for inters, but the rain didn't last long and the track dried up..

So the last lap was on inters with no life and in 1st place, with Bishop catching me like i was standing still, he passed me in the last corner, i made a desperate track cut at the bus stop, placed 1st and got a 6 second penalty that ended up costing me 100.000 credit pr second :)

SO, this event is simply perfect for those that wants to race. It boggles my mind that PD doesn't have a race like this for every track and with several PP limits. It pays good, even if you don't win, it's a new race everytime, and you can test all kinds of cars and tactics..

Gonna do another run.. :-)

Took the Sauber Mercedes C9 to the Spa 1 hour race and won by over a lap. Its a little twitchy on wets, so FM6 it was. Roulette gave me a 5 star ticket which produced the Porsche 911 RSR. Took said Porsche to Le Mans and won by over a minute. Productive day methinks

I'd have loved a 2hour Spa enduro or Le Mans. I love the endurance races. I miss the 4 hour races from GT3

I found out...jaguar vgt SV...is best handling car in a game...the nicest to drive...you just need to de-tune it to 919 hp 😅 ( 70 EV POWER AND 70 POWER RESTRICTION)...still did 3:05 laps on lemans
jag_gtsv_sv_tech_centre_1_161220.jpg
with strong penalty on TT...did an easy 5:15 on nordschleife...

and to those who say..car doesnt have enough stopping power...brake 100% and push throttle on 80%...torque will stop the car easy

Been a while! Going back to work after 6 weeks off has absolutely killed me 😂

Anyway, seems as though the break did me good. Finally got gold on Autopolis CE after being 0.2 off for about 4 weeks, only took me 2 laps when I fired it back up????

Went and did an hour at Spa as well, always enjoy that race. Got my first ever taste of 'green' level rain, good job I had full wets.

And what is it with those green bollards.....

I suck.

Tried to do the one-hour Spa WTC800 race with an Audi R8 LMS Evo and did nothing but make too many mistakes and beating my car to oblivion. I don’t deserve to play it when everyone else is far better than me. I don’t have a wheel, which automatically makes me a loser.

I am good at the Le Mans WTC700, but the Spa WTC800 is just frustrating for me. Call me a noob. I don’t care.
Not sure if serious but I would recommend using something other than the Audi R8 LMS as it tends to step out when pushing it hard; that plus some of the cambered corners, elevation changes, and Blamchimont in the wet whilst at speed can make it a handful for a Gr.3

Unless you specifically wanted to complete it with the R8, most other Gr.3s will make easier work of the Event.

imho Spa is about picking a car you can handle for an hour.

And after not winning with the BMW VGT i got a bit more lucky with my 2nd race in this car, fewer mistakes, better weather, better tactics. Beatings this race with a 720sh pp car is very satisfying, recommend.

It's not you that sucks, it's that car!

Try the car in my pictures above, it's a Gr2 GTR, you want the '08 version. It's around the 780PP mark stock on medium tyres, buy I'd recommend using hards. It will do 11 laps on FM1 at the 1 hour Spa. Ultra stable, brakes, turn in, throttle out of corners, you have to push this thing hard to mess it up!

Got gold on final circuit experience at Tokyo: South Counterclockwise. Went all try hard and put effort into every sector, but especially the full lap. Man with these walls it's hard to put all the sectors together and be aggressive the entire time. Was stuck at low 1:56 for a while, it's amazing how many laps I ran between 1:56.2 and 1:56.4, but every time I was up on the 1:56.2 ghost I'd make a slight error or tap a wall. The final corner was my nemesis, a good exit is crucial and really hard to achieve when the pressure is on at the end of a potential best lap, especially when the ghost you are racing nailed it. lol.

Finally achieved that 1:55.9XX and moving on. I'm sure if I repeated this daily for a week 'WRS style' I could cut at least half a second off this lap, but for a two hour effort pretty happy with the outcome. My best individual gold sectors were 14.925, 32.185, 42.111, and 32.657 which were all much closer to my "limit". It's a shame you can't just add those up to see full lap potential... I guess for CE the sectors overlap because adding up those times equates to over 2 minutes?

Pulled myself out of my Sport Mode hiatus (I haven't even picked up the controller in a week, save for putting in a quali time at Daytona Gr.C).

Spend 20 minutes messing around with Race A and its unique qualities, getting to grips with the car and setting a respectable time. What rewards do I get for my effort? Disconnect.

What is going on in this world when a company releases an always-online game which kicks you at the first hurdle?

Yeah. I was stupid to choose the R8 for the Spa One-Hour. It really sucks in terms of handling. I should’ve chose something much more stable. I just wanted a challenge and it turned into a nightmare.

I overreacted. Sorry about that.

Did Sardegna WTC800 in a heavily detuned Red Bull X2019, and thought I’d try it in another open-wheeler - the Super Formula.

Headed over to Brand Central, bought one (Honda) for a million credits, and then discovered that it’s ineligible for the race because it has nitrous fitted as standard and it’s apparently not something you can disable from the Settings menu.

I’m a little bit disappointed about that.

Am I right in saying there’s no way around this? I can’t turn nitrous off to enter a WTC?

I set up a Custom Race today just to get a feel for how it might work, with the intention of only running a few laps, but I was enjoying it so I ended up running the entire 2 hours in a one-make race using the Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93. It was a fun and closely fought race, and I won - but only by 4.689 seconds. However, it wasn't that exciting...and I could see that rubber-banding was in play several times during the race, not least as the AI started to clock times that were over 5 seconds faster than my best lap.

So, I studied the replay and noted my lap times and those of the 2nd placed AI...and the plot below is quite revealing.

My lap times are in red and the AI is in blue - both myself and the AI did a one-stop strategy (TM: lap 37; AI: lap 51) and there are clear peaks in each trace corresponding to our pit stops...

But... there is a second peak (corresponding to much slower lap times) in the AI trace (blue) right after my pitstop.... perhaps many people know this already or that it is obvious to some, but it is a surprise to me... It's also clear that the AI goes crazy after it's own pit stop. My last 20 laps or so were very consistent, but oddly enough, my own lap record - (lap 59 - 1:42.449) - also happens to be the lap immediately after the AI's 'surge' - a 4-lap period of sub 1:39 laps.

The daft thing is that I was pretty much able to regain the lead before the AI cars stopped for their only pit stops, only for the AI to receive a massive boost after their own stops that enabled them to catch up with me. And all of this is with the 'Boost' setting off...

I enjoyed the race, but the rubber-banding/boost effect does make it inherently unrealistic and leaves one feeling that the race is fixed (which it is to some extent). What's disappointing is that this doesn't seem to be optional, but what is the point of it? I would infinitely prefer to have the choice to have zero rubber-banding, and just muck about with settings in order to generate close races. Ironically, rubber-banding makes this impossible...

The AI's lap times are far more variable than mine - not counting in-laps or out-laps, our average, slowest and fastest laps were:

TM -
Average: 1:43.818
Slowest: 1:49.889* (+6.071)
Fastest: 1:42.449 (-1.369)
σ = 1.222
* The only lap where I had a spin, otherwise my slowest lap was 1:46.992 (+3.174)

AI -
Average: 1:44.251
Slowest: 2:01.695** (+17.444)
Fastest: 1.37.232 (-7.019)
σ = 4.054
** I reviewed the entire lap to check for spins etc., but there was nothing other than what appeared to be a 'slow train' of cars, with the target car running behind an inexplicably slow car and not passing. The car leading the train had plenty fuel, good tyres and nothing in front of it - and four (identical) cars decided to follow suit and stay on very slow laps.

I haven't played GT7 for a couple of days but I also haven't been on here for a couple of days. I did the VGT menu with the Bugatti VGT. Lovely car I enjoyed driving it. Got the 6 star ticket and got the Chaparral VGT. I guess I can use that and Tomahawk in custom race around SSX to see who can take the land speed record. Right now I am not as excited about GT as I usually at this point in the games life. I would like to get all the cars but I don't feel like grinding to do that. I think I might just start doing custom races with my current garage and hot lapping with some of favs until they release more content.

On the GTP account, struggled at Sarthe with the tuned Focus RS (it's been too long since I've been there, and it really isn't a good tune), and the 4-star marathon roulette netted me a 2nd 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T AWD P.Package (had already bought it once, so at least I don't have to spend 56,500 Cr. to eventually get one to put the wide body on it). I also bought the 1984 Ferrari GTO out of Hagerty's.

On the Plus account, after some struggles with fuel map on the 730PP-tuned Corvette Gr.3 (eventually did a 1-stop with FM1 and a slight short shift), I finally got a 1st at the Monza WTC 800 event (thought it would be neck and neck, but the rabbit pitted a third time on lap 9 after pitting on laps 4 and 8 as he and I fought for the lead coming onto the front straight, and the first few behind him that appeared to be on a 1-stop regime also pitted), and then took the 10,000-Cr. low-cash insult on the all-cash 3-star marathon roulette.

Hardly stupid.. Ambitious maybe 🤠
The race itself is enough for a challenge

Wanted to buy the Porsche 919 so I could do the cafe Gr1 book. Dodnt like the fact I had to spend 3mill credits for such a little pay out in the races. 110,000 credits for a win.
Ended up jumping in a Gr3 La Sarthe and completing the PP600 race for 550,000 credits. Race is 30mins with a bit of weather thrown in too so quite a nice race to do. Get the clean race bonus and you pocket 8xx,000 so decent pay out. Did these a few time today, was quite fun.
Bought the Porsche and entered the Daytona race. Was way off the pace. Not sure how to win this race as the lead cars were so fast. Managed to finish 7th…or so I thought. The classification showed I finished 9th. I didn’t get a penalty so not sure how I lost two places. Guess this is another joining a long list of other issues PD has with this game.

Nothing and probably won't even bother with the daily misery ticket this week. I fired GT Sport back up to find: Sportmanship, Close competitive racing, 20 player grids, pit stop strategy, no glitches, no penalties, no fighting on the track! Nearly full A/S rooms, couple A+ couple B to fill it out. Sardegna A GT Sport is the place to be this week!

After my Race A disconnection experience, I decided to pull up my socks and stuck in with some more Group B's. This time at The Real Flying Car Simulator AKA Fisherman's Ranch and Colorado Springs CE.

They took me 350km and 175km respectively to Gold, and more hours than I'd like to admit! Never touching those races ever again thank you very much.

Spent my winnings on the '56 Porsche, a Lambo Miura and a Mangusta.

Did the Circuit Experiences for Suzuka and Catalunya. All that's left now is Spa-Franorchamps and the Nurburgring Nordschleife. I got a one-star ticket, and from that, I got 10k, which I'll take. I think I now have over 24m credits - plenty! But I still have a large number of WTC 800 races left, plus some missions within The Human Comedy. I bought two of the Toyota S-FR, with one to leave as-stock, while I customized another. I decided not to repaint it, as I had tried repainting it Seminole Red - the same red that the Sports 800 comes in - but then I realized the color clashes with the interior colors, so I thought it'd be best to leave it in its original color, albeit with some decals added.

Ran several races in practice for Race A - who ever thought of putting CS tires on a rally car and running a race with tight cornering and high speed turns in it? Ridiculous if you ask me. Cars should be run with the appropriate tires and a rally car is a race car so race tires or dirt tires but comfort tires is not fun to me. It makes for poor racing.

Ran a few races at Suzuka but just can't seem to get the Puegot 908 to perform in that race. Best I could accomplish was 10th place today. Had better luck running the GR3 Aston Martin around the track but the victory eludes me.

Finished the day doing a livery on my G70 X GR3, it is a beauty if I must say so. I will post it later on with a few others I have completed over the last week. Did you all know the GTS liveries were imported into GT7? Worked on a Subaru GR4 livery and noticed the GTS livery in the selection - cool. Makes me want to check them all now - I had some good liveries in GTS.

Enjoy your racing today and tomorrow. Adios for now.
