What did you do in GT7 today?

On the GTP account, I did the current WRS time trial at Laguna Seca until I got an acceptable lap (interrupted by an ISP outage that kicked me in the middle of a promising lap), dropped the height on the Praiano R33 SUV Tokyo rain tune 4 mm front and rear, and did a personal best on the rain race. Then I got insulted by the low-money 5,000 Cr. 2-star roulette.

On the Plus account, dragged the 2007 BMW M3 to Red Bull to finish 1st in the European FR Challenge (previously did 2nd in the 2003 M3), then dragged the Gr.4-slaying Focus RS there for the WTC 600 race, and after some struggles to find the right strategy, hit upon it for a 1st. Once again got insulted with a low-money 5,000 Cr. roulette, this time a 3-star.

Of the 54 roulette tickets on the Plus account, 37 have been the small-cash prize (though two of them were 100,000 Cr. each and another 2 were 30,000 Cr. each), another 2 have been the 2nd-lowest cash prize (where there were at least 3 cash options, for 30,000 Cr. each), another 2 have been the 3rd-lowest (where there were at least 4 cash options, for 100,000 Cr. each), 1 was a common part, and 3 were invites (all while there was an active invite to that brand, 2 during the "bonus" invite period, and 2 to Porsche, where I had won the invite car in the final 3-card monty).

Yesterday... was it yesterday?? My mind has been foggy all day, meh. :boggled:

Window shopped only, decided to save my monies. Decided to get the Suzuka race from the last new Menu Book out of the way first, since it apparently had rain in it. Lovely... yeah, solve this ulcer early. As if the others don't have weather up their sleeves...

It was... fine, really. I used the Super Formula Toyota I had in the garage, with a livery snapped up from the Showcase, and tore through the field. There were only a couple of mishaps, resulting in one do over. The second race went according to plan and I won. It barely rained at all, and so light I nearly missed it. Thank God. I realized afterward that difficulty was on Easy, but a win is a win. Here are the highlights.

Suzuka SF19-01.jpg

So many classic racers in this race. Gotta beat 'em all!

Suzuka SF19-03.jpg

The Porsche spun out ahead of me. Really. I doubt the Formula has enough mass to do much more than bounce off the track in a collision.

Suzuka SF19-04.jpg

So many challenges with all these cars.

Suzuka SF19-08.jpg

Here's Rose in the 787. Say hi.

Suzuka SF19-06.jpg

This guy was fun. But as with all my competitors, once I get dialed in, I take them in the turns. And Suzuka has a couple. After a very messy pit, and a penalty for dirtying the pit marker, I was in sole possession of first place. Maybe next time on hard. Unless it rains...

After that, I did Tokyo former Tomahawk Chop with a Subaru I tuned up, and then chased aliens online the rest of the night.

Should be about done with the credit grind. Iv essentially just been playing on easy ai doing 30 minute credit runs. Started moving the ai back to difficult. Can start to refocus on lap times. Content should be coming in the next few months. State of game should be there by the end if year I'm thinking.

I think I was averaging 1.32-1.34 on Mediums in FM1 in the Mustang. I forgot one part of my race. While in FM6 I came up on Fraga and the guy before him. They were slow thru corner and would take off in straight, so I switched to FM1 for a half lap each so i could get past them cuz they were slowing me down at corners.

Beuvaoius (or whatever) is faster than you most of the race. He pits for inters and wets so he wastes a pit. After rain clears, he goes back to Inters and stays, so if you switch to Mediums or Hards you will be faster. Beware the wet spots.
Yeah the wet spots are a pain. I switch to the race radar and stick to the gray line. Seems the safest way round.

I further improved my 600pp Sambabus by bringing it to the Nordschleife, tweaking its suspensions and now it Just drives like an old Porsche with thin tires and a piano strapped to it's roof. :D
I'll eventually try to do the sensibile thing and lower it down to 550pp or less to make It more usable, but I'm not a sensible person.

Last few days - I was farming Sardegna and Tokyo to get 19.400.000 for McLaren F1 and I managed to do it. Sardegna helped a lot because I am tired with Tokyo.

Today - I wanted to farm 18.000.000 in next days for Porsche. I drove 1 Tokyo race and I was done. I am not going to farm 22 Tokyo races (594 minutes of driving) or 25 Sardegna races(625 minutes of driving).

I am not touching this game until they will increase payouts. Also fk hagerty FOMO/scarcity rotation BS and this design around microtransactions. If you are on the verge of the same decision then I have one tip - respect your time, this game and PD doesn't respect your time.

Bought the Ferrari 330 P4 - won the Three Legendary Cars trophy.
Started to claw back some money at Sardegna. Tried the Ferrari P4 at Sardegna but it's way too thirsty to have much of a chance.

Improved the Gr1 cafe race at Suzaka - this time I managed...... 6th. ;) Chucked it down for 2 whole laps! Luckily I'd bought wets. Didn't make me any faster but cut the spins / offs down.

Yet again the wheel was ALL gold. Haven't seen a car, car part or invitation for ages. Got a one star ticket, 1 gold bar and 4 varying sized piles of coins. I got the smallest, Cr. 2,000.

I bought two more skyline hardtops from the LCD. One to throw on an old JGTC livery and the other to keep blank.
I set up a custom race consisting of a bunch of 50s,60s, and early 70s cars. During the race I found the Shelby GT350, Ferrari Monodial (spelling?), and Ferrari dino to be relatively competitive with me at the front of the pack. I put this down to them having superior tires (ferrari had sports hard) and power (GT350 is 60pp higher than the hardtop). It was a great race nonetheless. The ferrari won, I claimed second, and the GT350 claimed third after a battle with a Ferrari Dino trying to claim the last podium spot. The rest of the pack consisted of CSLs, fairladys, hardtop skylines and jaguar e-types.

Decided to muck around with regular stuff. Bought that used Tommy look alike Lancer and did a race. Back in the early GT games, the Viper was always one of my go-to cars. I had grabbed two of the three street Vipers in the used lot at one point. Took the "middle" one for a spin and had a blast at Laguna. It handled SO well even with sport hards. Then I decided that I wanted to rack up my own mileage, so went over to Dodge and bought all three spankin' new. The two newer ones are way controllable, but it was really nice to see that the '02 still has that seat of the pants venom in it lol.

Been a while since I did the 30mins of LeMans, might be a while longer after today......

Heaviest rain I've ever had there. To be fair, it was wicked fun driving through it, another win and another 825k in the bank 😂
Very similar to me today, had very heavy rain and only put on inters, but I rode it out for one slow lap, and most of the AI were still on slicks, so I won by a mile.

Started daily B. Lap 2 chasing a Huracan we both blew through death chicane without issue. 2 cars just unghosting by the covered area up ahead. 1 car stays right out of the racing line, 1 weaves hard left into the racing line. Huracan and I both try to thread through, Huracan goes left, makes contact and I thread it with a light tap from the slow car that started to come left. Huracan also survived so we're both ahead. Fast forward to the first chicane/turn 2. Both the Huracan and I are punted off by the 2 previously ghosted cars, as they're fighting and missed their braking points. Nice.

Quit out as I realize I'll just make the next Daily A. Lap 4. Sitting in 2nd. A few times people have decided to make a move instead of staying in the train, all of them fell off. Mid way through the bend someone decides to make a move by going down past the yellow lines, doesn't have enough traction and sweeps back up onto the bank. Takes me (2nd), 3rd, 4th and 5th out. Such a special move...

I just finished the 1 hour endurance on Spa and it was raining 75% of the entire race.
Did they change something?
No, I don't think so... Spa is very variable and my first race it was raining about 50% of the time.

Decided to pull the trigger on some cars. Very expensive day...

Cars bought today;
  • McLaren F1 '94 (19.400.000 Cr.)
  • Porsche 917K '70 (18.000.000 Cr.)
  • FORD GT40 Mark l '66 (6.250.000 Cr.)
  • Ferrari 500 Mondial Pinin Farina Coupe '54 (4.000.000 Cr.)
  • Porsche 356 A/1500 GSGT Carrera Speedster '56 (1.500.000 Cr)
= Total amount of credits. 49.150.000. Ouch ...

Events raced today;

  • Sardegna 800pp with @praiano63's tune for the Porsche 962 C '88. Very, very easy win. <25 minutes as well.
Sardegna - Straatcircuit - A__1.jpeg

  • Spa Francorchamps 800pp 1 hour. Also with Praiano's Porsche tune. I noticed it was raining almost 75% of the whole race, most of the races i did here it was only in the night, now after a heavy shower in the night it was dry for 4 laps and after that it starting raining heavily again until the end, almost. Could just be me as it was a long time ago i raced here. Oh, and i almost took off with that little beast...

Better get air traffic control clearance next time!

Did the K-car race at tokyo again but tried it this time in a tuned cappuccino. As I was driving I noticed something, so after the race finished, which I secured another fun win despite being t-boned by the blue Copen on the chicane. So anway, I played back the replay and began studying the liveries on the AI cars. I noticed that they all follow the same design principle; Solid or metallic body colour, a sponsor decal on the bonnet/hood, a sponsor decal on each side of the turn signals, and one on each side of the car. Every single car followed this design and it got me wondering whether these liveries were created by the same person at PD or if they were pre-generated using a computer. I might actually have to go study some of the other AI in other races.

Of course, the only real reason why I did this is because I was under the influence of substances that are legal in my area. But hey, that's what made it fun. :sly:

Built up the Civic Touring car in a Kansei/JDM/NO Good Racing style and took some pics.

Made a copy of my Uncles Pantera and drove it around at Tsukuba a bit, Love the way it drives bone stock, even though it's another killer that loves oversteer! I seem to be drawn to the hard to drive road cars more than anything. I think they feel the most alive.

Knocked out the dragon trail seaside CE. Golded the first two sectors first try, but took more than 10 tries to get the damn "death chicane" section done. Full lap took another 3. Love that track regardless of that damn chicane and its devil curbing!
