What did you do in GT7 today?

Ran the Sarthe 700 race with my trusty Focus RS set up for a no-rain 1-stop strategy, and had some unusual weather. Just started raining on lap 3, so I came in for intermediates. Stopped raining shortly thereafter, but the rain gauge was already 2/3rds full, so I was hydroplaning on Mulsanne. Took the lead from the Huricain at the end of Mulsanne, which was attempting its usual 1-stop strategy, then the skies just opened up. Decided to come back down for full wets at the end of lap 4, and maintained the lead. The rain stopped the middle of lap 5, and the track dried quickly (down under 1/3rd on the racing line by the time I got to Mulsanne on lap 6). Near the end of lap 6, I was about 12 seconds ahead, and decided to see if I could dwaddle enough to not finish the lap before the 30 minutes. Fortunately, 2nd and 3rd came back down to the pits, so I could do that successfully.

The 4-star marathon ticket gave me not the usual low-cash prize, but something even more worthless - a High Lift Cam Shaft for the Aston Martin DB11, worth only 5,800 Cr. Did I mention I don't own the DB11?

Today I golded 3 International A licence tests. Which felt very rewarding as I struggle with the licences. I'll soon have to start tackling the 1 lap ones.

Ran the daytona oval several times whilst I was making phone calls.

Then I looked for a car near 800PP to buy for some of the touring 800 events. They were all expensive, so in the end I bought an Audi R8, tuned it to about 760PP and downloaded a nice showcase livery for it. It drives wonderfully (I do like 4WD cars) and I won the first 800 race I tried.

Well I bought a car....

Also bought a couple of Lancers, couple of Porsches and a RUF.

The 917 is so much fun to drive. Love having to keep the rear in check when braking into a big stop, really keeps you on your toes!

Buying all that stuff took me from 20 million plus to just under 500k! Managed to work my way back to 3 million. Saint Croix CE helped a bit with that, I'm quite liking the Bugatti Gr1.

Seems like a lot of you guys did some Circuit Experiences. Me too...

Cars bought today;

  • Peugeot RCZ Gr.3

Events raced today;

  • Circuit Experience; Suzuka Circuit. All gold achieved. No big issues here. Just needed some practice in Sector 1. After that, easy full lap. Time: 1:50,797. Definitely going back sometime to try to beat my own time. 100% doable.
  • Circuit Experience; Mount Panorama. All gold achieved. Personally, this one is really hard for me. I lose a lot of time in Sector 2 i just can't perfect the full lap. Always making a mistake in that sector. Time: 2:05,487.
  • Circuit Experience; Tokyo Expressway South (Counterclockwise) All gold achieved. Always found the Tokyo Expressway circuit experiences very hard, same with this one. Barely got gold. But after all, gold is gold. Time: 1:57,424
  • Circuit Experience; Tokyo Expressway Central (Clockwise) All gold achieved. Same with South. Struggled a lot with this one as well. Final Time: 1:13,206
I bought the RCZ for the 1 hour Endurance Race on the Red Bull Ring that I'm planning to do tomorrow.

I finished the Kei menu book after borrowing some setting from Priano Tunes for the Cappucino. I raised the ride height and I was able to add the mid rpm turbo and I was able to finish the menu book. I bought the Suzuki VGT and quickly found out there is no tuning for it unfortunately and it got it doors blown off in the VGT menu book. Right now I am trying to figure out what is the best car to use. I'll will probably leave that alone for it bit and just try to figure out what I can use for the Tokyo grind

Did a few different missions including the following:

  • NSX / Suzuka - One Lap Magic
  • FXXK / Monza - One Lap Magic
  • Tsukuba 30 Laps - Used the GR Yaris (no power mods, weight reduction stage 3, and suspension mods)
  • Cone Challenge 3 (Full Lap in the Suzuki Sport).

I'm sure there are others too!

Today I won my first race in Sport. Race B at Dragon Trail seaside. After 87 previous attempts I have finally won. Still only got a rating of DR-C and SR-B.
However I am pleased having returned to racing with GT7 following a 10 year hiatus - thus I am very much still learning ropes.
I have seen on here mention of career mode being level 1 of 50, having spent some time in Sport mode this very much feels like the case. Also there is a lot of criticism of GT7 on here and a lot of it is valid, but nonetheless it is one helluva game

Saint Croix was the last one I needed to finish Europe. Did things differently this time, after the Gr1 race round there I decided to go for the full lap first, only took 4 attempts. After that the sectors were easy. Just the US and Asia to finish off now.
I only need the full lap for St. Croix. All the sectors are gold. Probably gonna try this tomorrow as the same way you did. First drive the Gr.1 race with that Bugatti and after the race try to beat the full lap time.

The Porsche 917K is mine, and I am very pleased with it. Won with it in both the Le Mans WTC700 and WTC800 events. It can get a bit squirrelly under heavy braking, especially from higher speeds, so care must be taken to make sure the 917K doesn’t spin out under braking.

I also bought the Ford GT40 and added it to my collection. Made it into a 700PP touring car and won with it in the Le Mans WTC700 event as well.

I am not interested in the McLaren F1 road car just yet. I am happier with the F1 GTRs that are much more usable.

EDIT:

Had some extra spare time so i did the 1 hour Endurance Race on the Red Bull Ring today. Photos here.

Got all gold at Circuit experiences at Daytona (1 000 000 Cr)
Bought 4 Evo IV (yes, four):
-I converted it the first one into the WRC from the 90s, the second one I tuned it in a "different" way , put it a widebody kit, removed the rear wing and front and rear fog lights and the front plate, painted It with Reflex Spice colour from TVR, put a rollcage, tow hooks, a rear Japanese plate and Work (painted golden) rims. Also I put height adjustable suspension, racing exhaust and brakes and anti lag, all of them for cosmetic purposes, and the rest of the parts I kept It stock. The third one and the fouth one remained untouched in case I need one for a race
-Bought the Silvia Ks from UCD, put widebody kit, front+rear bumper, side skirts, a small rear wing, the "c" front grille, roll cage, yellow bulbs, tow hooks, Japanese plates, BBS RS rims and painted It in a clear blue colour from BMW. Also I put height adjustable suspension, sport brakes and pads sport Air filter and ECU, semi-racing exhaust, middle-rpm turbo kit, sport intercooler, and anti lag.
- Bought an Honda Beat, tuned it until I got 400pp, and put spoon rims, and a bit of body tuning (front bumper + side skirts+ small rear wing)

- Bought the BMW 3.0 CSL And converted it into the race car with widebody kit included

Did a Daily race A. Literally, "A" race and I was done with that noise.

Broke after buying the Sauber C9 so I went to LeMans 700PP in the RB Jr. I think the patch messed with that car as it used to be so stable but it was quite tail happy on turn-in, like so many of the other MR cars. The weather absolutely ****ed me and I finished like 14th. Not a good way to grind.

Off to Sardena with the trusty NSX GT500 for an easy 750k (or whatever it is).

That was all I could manage without getting bored. But hey, at least I am a millionaire again.

Went back and redid the Cafe Gr1 races....well 2 of them anyway. I got gold @ Suzuka the first time around with I think the Redbull X2019, silver @ Saint Croix with the Formula or the old F1500 car and bronze @ Daytona with I don't remember.

So I redid Saint Croix using the Peugeot. Hard tires, one stop for fuel and adjusting the mix as needed but kept it on the richer side most of the race. Easily got gold.

Daytona I tried several combos that didn't work and then finally used the Tomahawk road car. Full power, hard tires and just enough ballast to get it down to 949.xx, and geared to 250'ish mph I think. Lean fuel mix the whole way and hitting the overtake button as much as possible. It's a bit hefty on the infield but on the highbank you eat everyone alive. I think I pit at the end of lap 6 just for fuel enough to finish the last four laps. Easily got gold.

I wasted more time on the Group 1 races in the 919. I attempted a few races on Daytona with different setups but couldn't win so I decided to give St Croix another crack with a different setup. Won it easily. I then went back to Daytona after my learnings from St Croix but I still couldn't win it. Closest I came to winning was 3.8 seconds.

Did the High Speed Ring 30mins - didn't have anywhere near the drama (or rain!! Pink/Purple) as when I first completed it. Took 4 attempts but was pretty easy in essence. 4 attempts mainly to work out the strategy the actual racing was straightforward.

Did it in a stock Gr.3 Corvette.

Started on RH / Fuel Map 1 end of Lap 3.
Switched to IM / Fuel Map 6 until around Lap 16
Switch to RS / Fuel Map one for the last 5-6 Laps.

Also bought the KPGC10 Skyline from the LCD - had been waiting for this for a while. Gave it the treatment to bring it up to 450PP along with some aesthetic trinkets. Slightly disappointed that I don't think it will be competitive enough for the Alsace Endurance Human Comedy.

I'll have a play around to see if I can get it to a usable state - in the current guise it drops off at the first hairpin.

Finally managed to win the Tokyo 600pp race the legit way (without using the Tomahawk). Managed to do that with my own setup on a Focus RS. I did hit the barrier once and got the 5 sec. penalty on Lap 9 which almost cost me the race. Managed to hold off the NSX and GTR in the final lap by holding defensive line, driving dirty and cutting them off on the straight. Won by 0.256 seconds - I'm not a good driver :)

Had another go at trying to beat the VGT races with the BMW. It's not happening. Since the Porsche VGT appears to be quite OP, I thought I'd buy one and give it a go. Left it on RH tyres, but man, is that a horrible car to drive! Going to try it with RS later, but for now, I can't even match my BMW VGT lap times despite the Porsche being a missile on the straights!

I did several CE races, got mostly gold/a couple silver, and 1 bronze medal. Then I did some Porsche liveries in St Croix B. I'm glad my brother is using his copy until I can get my own downloaded. So then I did a couple mission races(drifting). And last for the day I just did custom races, and watched the Sports etiquette videos.

Platinumed yesterday, I think the platinum is well thinked (maybe few stupid trophies like buy same car 10 times and probably would add golding ce as mandatory or at least Nordschleife) as I didn't grind even once in this game and money from ce is more than enough for all mandatory legendary cars.

Continuing yesterday, I fired up the Plus account for the first time in a week (which meant the Pagani invite expired and I couldn't get a duplicate for the wide body treatment), tarted up the Cappuccino to exactly 400.00 PP, and blitzed the Menu Book 40 races to get the Radical. Since I have neither a Vision nor a 900 PP car, I decided to continue my quest to win all the races there (as I already have done on the GTP account), I grabbed my trusty WTC 700-slaying Focus RS and blitzed the Sainte-Croix Turbo Sports race (where I previously finished 3rd with a Praiano-tuned R32 at 580 PP), then switched to an Enzo Ferrari with SS tires to laugh my way through the Maggiore Ferrari race (previously 3rd with a modified Exeter-tuned F430). For my 4-star marathon, I got a Porsche invite, which was an insult as the current one still had a few days...and I already won the Carrera GT for winning Menu Book 39 (though I am looking for a duplicate for the wide body treatment).

I then went back to the GTP account to grab the 1970 Skyline.
