What did you do in GT7 today?

I got gold on the Autopolis One Hour today, and on my first try, too. But I can’t seem to avoid pitting on the Gr.1 Prototype Series race at Suzuka. I could try using a fuel map of 6 and using Racing Hards - and do some serious short-shifting - but I feel all of that would make me too slow. I wonder if the R18 TDI ‘11 is just not that good compared to other Gr.1 racers, even when the PP is capped to 950. I bought the Sauber C9 today. I’ll see how it fares…

EDIT: I might try Daytona one more time in the R18 TDI ‘11, as I forgot I lowered my top speed to 300 kph, whereas it’s 340 without adjustments. So that may help me quite a bit at Daytona, but we’ll see.

Managed to beat all of the Gr.1 Prototype Series races on hard. I had already beaten Sainte-Croix with the L750R, leaving me with Daytona and Suzuka to contend with. Both Daytona and Suzuka were wins with the Mazda LM55. Equipped it with a medium-RPM turbo, which brings the power to almost 1000 horsepower.

Detuned it to about 800 horses for Suzuka with the fuel map at 1 and used the full power at Daytona with the fuel map on 5-6. Both races were final lap showdowns. AI Miyazono was hounding me on the final lap at Daytona but I barely snagged the victory. At Suzuka, as the rain began to finally come down, I managed to perform two overtakes at the Degner curves against AI Miyazono and Hizal on the final lap. Got behind an Audi R18 backmarker coming up to the Casio Triangle, but no trouble other that that. Victory was mine.

Well, it's better than 2,000...
2,000 is still better than the parade of useless tuning parts I've been getting lately, on 4 star tickets no less (landing one after the engine of course)

I found the guide book PD is using for GT7

Finally bought the 917k. Not driven it yet but sure it will be awesome. Boosted my 930 turbo up to 700pp and did the turbo sports car and schwarzwald series. Such a fun car to drive. Got two four star tickets. One Lambo invitation and one F8 tributo. I think the wheel of misfortune must have mistaken me for someone else as the last six tickets amounted to 40k altogether.
Took a 997 to the world touring car 600 championship. It did not work very well. Possibly driver error but this car used to awsome everywhere. It seems that every time PD mess with the PP system it takes a little more away from this car. Hopefully this last tweak will be the last.

Maybe I'm just an optimist, but I see winning the tuning parts as money saved. Let alone the special parts, which are literally priceless. In fact, just the other day, I won a titanium connection rods for the Corvette (C7) ZR1, though I did come close to winning my first engine.

At this point, it's all for fun, anyway. Not like there's anything in World Circuits or the missions that'd encourage us to use engine swaps - aside from the Porsche-swapped Samba Bus in the Alsace One Hour - and certainly nothing in Sport Mode. Man, there's just so much potential for Sport Mode and the GTWS. Like how I don't think we've seen a new BoP chart yet since launch - which would explain why the leaderboard for the next GTWS Nations Cup round is pretty much all just the Honda NSX Concept-GT, despite the event permitting any of the eight cars currently in Gr.2.

I decided to just bite the bullet and play in Custom Races mode to set up my ideal race and not bother about the Cr. earned.

But, even this is borked. Boost is "off" and yet the AI is clearly rubber-banding. I'll post evidence later, but I was consistently lapping near the lap record, but as soon as I catch up to the lead car, it suddenly puts in a new purple lap over 1.5 s faster than the existing lap record. I've noticed this before, but why can't we just have zero rubber-banding races against the AI??

I reckon this is not an accident though - it fits a pattern of penalising "offline" play and driving you towards online, which (of course) requires a subscription. Oh, and a 1-star ticket and small change as a daily "gift" just rubbed salt into the wound. Not sure how many more evenings I'm prepared to dedicate to this game when I'm trying my best to make something of it, only to find that it isn't working.

Had a nice race at spa with the CLK, it has been a while since the last time i raced there, and the last races have been with cars that are a bit more edgy. The CLK is fast and still nice to control. 1.5 million in the bank and 3 million spend on a Sauber :-)

The new weather radar is almost to easy now, just after F1 in Monaco showed us that in real racing the weather is just as unpredictable as it was with the old Radar, GT7 brings us an easy to predict weather radar with no surprises, at least not when you are up against the AI

Did RACE A, a guy bump drafted me the whole race, but that race is really not for me, Race B in a none meta car, and one death at the chicane but i still love this track, so much fun. Gained 5 positions because those in front of me was killing each other.
Race C looks to be a meta race, so i guess i will join with a car i find fun to drive and let the Mazdas have their fun in front of me..

Do this enough and you'll notice that no matter how long your race is, at 50% completion the first place car will slow down until you catch up and then you're stuck with them for the remainder of the race. If you out-pit strategy them, they'll rubber band you anyways.

Do those titanium rods make any difference? Does the car get lighter? Faster? Is it noticeable?

As for the other tuning parts, they're all for modern cars while I prefer to set up races with last century cars. It's not money saved, I simply don't have those cars and have no intention of getting them. I've only visited Brand Central for Sport mode, couple GR.1 to GR.4 cars. Didn't get any parts for that but would have been pointless anyway with BoP.

Since the only option is delete, 2K is still better than any tuning parts :/

Yesterday I bought at the Used Lot
  • Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX '89
  • Second Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe '06
Then I literally spent ALL DAY trying to get the Red Bull Jr to work as intended, as a competent race car, at the Tokyo WTC600 former Tomahawk Chop. I poked and prodded tuning parts but the poor thing was still nerfed! GAH!!

Finally I stumbled into something that seemed to work, seemed, and went to Nihon. And the headaches began. The bots had no respect for my little buzz bomb, even with an eye catching studly livery from the Showcase for it that should have let everyone know that I was under their damn wheels. So I was pushed into walls, knocked into walls, punted, spun out... the do overs began to pile as my ire went through the roof. But after more than a dozen restarts, and switching to chase cam which I should have done from the start, I began to make some progress. The Gr1 races were long forgotten by that point. I was determined to make podium. DETERMINED I SAY! :grumpy:

It was nerfed so it had no real power on the straights, but it took turns like a champ, and gradually I began to make some headway. I actually made it with... damn it, one penalty but I stuck it out and finished fifth. Tried again with no penalties, and was doing better at keeping what little speed I had up, and even though I shot into first place when everyone pitted, I finished... fourth. Rose was trying to be encouraging, but I wasn't in the mood for a pep talk. I tried again as evening began to creep in, and even managed to catch up to the three pack leaders somehow! Briefly I was in first, very briefly, but Vigallo shut that door hard. Once again as they began to pit in little groups, I found myself alone in first, but with laps averaging 2.19 I wasn't feeling very confident. Sure enough, Blofeld caught me, and then Rose had to blow past me in the tunnel to put me in third. At that point it was 9.30 and I hadn't eaten yet, so that was my day. Here are some highlights.

Rose was getting a little aggressive on that last lap.

I was in first place for two whole seconds!

When I finally got the racing sorted, it really was a lot of fun, but the nerfed horsepower really is a pain. If anyone has a 600PP tune for the beastie that's pretty quick, I'll buy you a puppy. Or maybe a soda.

I've got not hopes or aspirations for roulette now so it doesnt bother me at all.

Just click it each day in auto pilot, then semi surprised/pleased when I win something half decent 2 or 3 times a month.

Question regarding multiple accounts.

Probably a silly question and in the wrong thread also, but upon adding a new account for GT7, will I need to progress through the game as if I just started from the beginning?

As in creating a new PSN ID and email address?

If so, then yes - I did this last week and am now replaying the game as if it were brand new. Even have to play the Music Rally before you can enter the World Map and need to watch the 5 minute long credit video too ha ha.

I'm planning to finish some Circuit Experiences I haven't done yet and getting gold on mission challenges I've only earned silver or bronze on already. Though what I would really love is if we could do our own offline championships because the ones we have now in the "World Circuits" section are disappointing and also, who's idea was to make 2 or 3 races and call that a championship? These should contain at least 8 or 10 races because the point system wouldn't make sense otherwise... :/

First time posting here! Last night I made a livery for the NSX CONCEPT-GT ’16 that I will be using for the upcoming Nations Cup race at Autopolis. I spent the rest of the night practicing and made it onto the first page of lap times (p78 as of writing this). Credits to LuisVCR19 for the livery I used as a starting point for my own.

Tried Suzaka Gr.1 race again today. What a miserable race! Went overcast almost immediately, and everything turned grey. Sky. Road (yeah, I know, supposed to be like that :) ) grass - dismal, everything dark.... Maybe I need a new TV??? It did rain a little on lap 3, not enough to change tyres. For the first time I persevered to the end. Only shunted once today but luckily recovered quickly. Finished...... 7th. This is going to be a toughie for me..... I just don't get on well at Suzaka.

Decided to take Jag XJ13 to LeMans and not fiddle about with fuel, left it on 1. I was in the lead before the end of lap 1. End of lap 2 started raining - radar showed heavy rain. Pitted and put on inters - I don't have wets for this car. Not enough, aquaplaning all over the place so called it a day after half of lap 3 and getting overtaken by all that had put wets on.

Roulette wheel very odd today - 2 star ticket and had 10 gold bard (a million), 5 gold bars (500k) and 3 piles of coins. I got the smallest pile, Cr. 10k.

Did the Circuit Experiences for the following courses:

Interlagos
Dragon Trail - Seaside
Sardegna - Road Course A
Red Bull Ring
Deep Forest

I do wonder if we’ll be able to do Circuit Experiences for the other layouts for St. Croix and Sardegna? Especially since literally every layout for Tokyo Expressway is available.

Tried to run daily race B, but had to quit lap 2.

Ran daily race A and won. On the final lap the person in 2nd tried to bump-draft 1st, but hit 1st at an awkward angle sending them flying off into the barrier. 2nd became 1st with a 4 second penalty, gifting me the win as we crossed the line.

Ran daily race B and went from 12th to 7th. Would have been higher but spent 2 laps stuck behind a driver that kept going through the death chicane incredibly slowly, causing crashes behind them as people going the normal speed either hit the slow driver or lost control due to braking while turning/understeer.
