It was Weekly Challenge day on both accounts. On the GTP account trying for "fair play":
  • Northern Isle Sunday Cup in 1:56 with a stock Mazda Demio (though not in the normal/normal/normal condition one must use if one bought it from Andi at the very start of the game)
  • Laguna Seca Japanese Clubman Cup in 5:16 with a stock 2007 Nissan Fairlady Z
  • Trial Mountain Special Event in 8:24 with a stock Lamborghini Gallardo (after many tries to finally break the rubber-band logic)
  • Blue Moon Bay American Sunday Cup in 4:17 with a stock 2015 Ford Mustang
  • Sarthe WTC 900 in a very-dry 38:18 with a stock 2016 Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT (with rain tires on standby, and FM 2 for a 1-stop with tires strategy)
The tickets were mostly Wheels of Despair - the parts was yet another Bore Up S for the Audi TT Coupe and the workout 3-star (what else?) was a nitrous kit for the Bugatti Veyron Gr.4, while the car was a Toyota GR010 flipped for a mere 1,315,170 Cr.

On the Plus account, trying for overpowering:
  • Northern Isle in 1:37 with a stock Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1
  • Laguna Seca in 4:50 with a stock Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
  • Trial Mountain Special Event in 8:15 with an almost-stock Lamborghini Gallardo (fitted with SS tires)
  • Blue Moon Bay in 4:00 with the same Corvette C7 ZR1
  • Sarthe WTC 900 in 36:39 (rain passed well west of the track) with a stock Porsche 919 (with rain tires on standby)
The parts ticket gave an ultra-high rpm turbo for the 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO (which I could use), the car ticket gave a SF23 Honda (sold for 421,810 Cr.), and the cashless 5-star Wheel of Despair gave a Corvette C6 ZR1 engine (of which I already have 2, and only 1 car that can take it).

What did I do? I just realized the new weekly challenges are out and I haven't played today. Time to fix that with streaming of this girl's gone crazy fast! 🏎️ 🦋 :greenflag:

Why is Remote Play being so **** lately. Half the time I have to restart the program (terminating via Task Manager) and the PS5 before it loads, and when it does the connection is terrible and the visuals look like re-re-re-recompressed JPEGs.

Today I spent some time at Monza in a Lamborghini doing the TT challenge, car doesn't like to steer in on those sport mediums unless you thwack it with a good dose of hard acceleration to provoke oversteer, several spoilt laps later I have a time set..... Used my Gallardo in the weekly specials and that's quite a different proposition snaps to oversteer with only mild provocation.

Ran out of play time, parts ticket prop shaft for a 22 mx5. Roulette ticket 5k. :(

For two weeks, I've kept my credit balance around 99million. I have multiples of everything from the LCD and UCD.

It has gotten to the point where I struggle to spend credits. I've taken to randomly selecting cars from my garage and doing maxed out builds.

The mental scars remain, but the grind is well and definitely over for me.

That's an awesome problem to have. I struggle to get to 20 million. I usually end up getting a car (s) and drop back down. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Same. I really wish PD would either raise or get rid of the limit all together

Had too many margaritas for celebratory events and then ran the Nations Cup Final Round 4 race with the BoP'd '95 McLaren F1, Qualified 6th, and could tell the margaritas were in effect, and finished P4 with ZERO front left tire for the last 2 laps - what an embarrassing drag 🧛‍♀️ . But the margaritas🍹 were absolutely fantastic, so WIN WIN WIN :gtpflag: Still not getting enough stream interaction. :( 🤷‍♀️

And the "VERY NOT OK" button was missing following the race. unforgivable.

The Weekly Challenges. I bumped the controller and found myself in a round of the Hypercard Parade by accident, so I ran that.
I ran the WTC900 with a 787B. The next race was the extra. I thought my RX-7 could win that WTC900, it got a chance to win the Hypercard Parade at Le Mans, then the Japanese Clubman Cup. Score extra points for the 26B engine. I took a Tesla to the American car race at Broad Beam and the Sunday Cup at Northern Isle. The Lambo race was easy, as are all the one make races.
I did soften up the suspension on the RX-7. It thundered down the Mulsanne smoother than a dose of Ex Lax.

After finishing all tarmac CEs i spent some time at Sardegna Windwills.
It took ages to find a way to replicate the demo ghosts line. In the end it worked quite well, except for the left hander in sector 2 - that's still a 50|50 chance.
But one good try ended with this, for me very surprising, result:

Just look at my previous "record"! :sly:
one done, three to go ...

Today in my marathon ticket I won six pistons and conrods for my Chevy V8.
Ahhh the sound of casino noises trying to win every single rod bolt and piston ring must make all the gambling addicts feel such pleasure and recall great Venetian and Luxor memories

I bought the Aston Martin Vulcan after getting the invite, took it to Sardegna, and discovered the thing can't even make the race on 2 stops with FM 6. I wonder if that's a bug?

The problem with the Vulcan is that it is classified as Road Car, not a Race Car, even though it was never street legal. So, automatically the fuel economy is terrible compared to, say the P1 GTR. Then there is the Vulcan's 7.3-liter V12 chugging fuel. That isn't even mentioning the below realistic downforce levels it was given. It's one of my favorite cars ever and it really sucks that I can't use it more in-game.

Yeah but it's still a lot worse than other road cars. The race is easily doable on 2 stops with cars like the 911 GT1, Ferrari FXX K, F40, Pagani Huayra, RUF CTR3...

I ran into the saved livery limit for the second time and had to delete a bunch of old liveries. GT7 is trying to discourage my habit of repainting every car I tune / drive green.

Too Many Liveries.jpg

I'm also hyper-fixating on the WTC900 race at Le Mans from the Weeklies. Because AI shenanagans in hard mode got me flustered, winning is no longer enough.

I've picked Peugeot 908 HDI and seeing how fast I can make it go. The goal is to get a 34.59.xxx total race time before the next round of Weeklies. I'm around 2 seconds away.

I did a bunch of races, dailies and weekly challenges.

Enjoy da pics! The Genesis Racer X is a good in the GR.1 race and i wann try it more to win those daily race C.

Did the weeklies, then I've been trying to win that WTC 900 race at Le Mans. It's more difficult than I thought it would be.

I'm also deciding whether I should keep the engine tuning that I have on my Ferrari Enzo, F50 and F40, or instead have them with stock engines. The only problem is that I'd have to buy new engines for them if I want them stock, which gets very pricey... I dunno. On all three I have Engine Balance Tuning and High Lift Camshaft S, but on the Enzo I also have Titanium Connecting Rods & Pistons. Think that's reasonable?

Upon further thought I have decided this is indeed a fairly reasonable set of upgrades for my Ferraris. I'm also very pleased they're giving away the Mazda 787B - I've been wanting that car for a while. On that note, I made my championship predictions today.

I finally won that Le Mans race yesterday, with an Audi R18 no less! I also won the weekly one-make '50s Porsche race on Eiger Nordwand.

I believe I figured out what was bothering me about those Ferrari engine upgrades, too: I think I was too hasty when I was buying them, given that buying entire new engines is the only way to undo them if I change my mind at all and it gets REALLY expensive for those cars. At least for cars like the Lancer Evo III/V or Nissan Skyline R32, new engines cost something like 40k or 100k respectively. A new engine for the Enzo or F40 on the other hand easily costs over a million! I was stressing out about whether or not those upgrades were "too much" for those Ferraris, but I ultimately decided that no, they're not too unreasonable to have right now. After all, if you're rich/influential enough in real life, you can order stuff like titanium connecting rods & pistons for your OWN Ferraris, whether from Ferrari themselves or a custom garage/parts maker. But, I probably won't be buying any other engine upgrades for the time being, and I really should put some more thought into it next time I decide whether or not to upgrade a supercar's engine. (EDIT: I'm not going to buy credits with real money so I can buy new engines for these cars or duplicates of these cars, either. I have my limits. I'm content with having one of each, slightly upgraded, considering how much they cost me to begin with.)

As for what I actually did today, I won the Japanese 4WD weekly at the Red Bull Ring and won the one-make Porsche race again to get a clean race bonus, which was pretty easy. I also played a race at Le Mans with that modded Ferrari Enzo and it is definitely one fast hellion - but I'm either too slow on the braking and cornering or the car needs some more tuning work in those areas. It was definitely wobbly while braking on the Mulsanne.

Did this week's challenges on Sunday:
Euro FR 1954 Mondial, 2nd place.
Japanese 4wd in a Nissan GTR with the swapped engine, easy win.
Eiger single make in a 356 tin top with a swapped engine, easy win but a crazy place to take this crazy car too.
Group B's in a Honda NSX, single stop as the tyres would have cooked off otherwise won by 20 seconds when the Audi pikes peak took his second stop.
WTC700 - '84 Nissan Silhouette on fm2/fm4 with a single stop for fuel only, win by 40 seconds.

Got a Peugeot RCZ road car from the wheel of shame.

Been having some fun the last few days. Ive decided to take some different cars other than my usual ones to LeMans and see how they do.

  • Lamborghini Adventador. fast but very thirsty - had to pit every two laps.
  • Suzuki Escudo - One stop for fuel on FM 6. Fun car
  • Toyota FT 1 VGT - not bad but kinda meh, One stop
  • Toyota 787B - Great car, Won by three minutes. One stop.
  • Mercedes Benz CLK LM - I love this car. Can go a full six laps on FM 6 with no rain. Splash and go.
  • Audi RS 5 DTM - Got almost four laps out of it on FM 6. One stop for rain.

Also bought my fourth Escudo this morning.

I created a cross country Polo (raised suspension, limited slip diff and an “I can’t believe it’s not a Volvo XC70” livery). Took it to Horse Thief Mile and had a blast.

Bought my first Ferrari 250 GTO - though it'd be absolutely splendid if we could modify it to have the "Series II" bodywork, just like the one I saw at the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance this past June. I did see a widebody option, though, for 100k credits, so I wonder if that changes anything when it comes to alternative options in GT Auto?

I ended up stopping my daughter from launching a controller at the TV on the group B rally car willow springs weekly yesterday, think she'd done the race for a third time as she was nerfed from behind on lap 7 in third place.
Ford Focus Group B car, dangerously oversteering under heavy brakes but fast enough to stick with anything on the track. I restarted after the first lap having discovered the oversteer issue and then owned that quirk by ramming the power in early, ok it fried tyres but was good for 6 laps.
