Even though I am under the weather, I tried to hustle through the Weekly Challenges before the server maintenance at midnight Central Standard Time.
On the GTP account, they went rather hard as, for the original races, I limited myself to what would be available from clearing the menu books up to that point:
- Lago Maggiore Sunday Cup Classic in a nail-biting 2:14 with a 1965 Mini-Cooper 'S' with all the Sports modifications and CS tires as Gallo started his post-launch Alfa out front (without that, a stock Mini-Cooper would have handled it)
- Alsace European Clubman Cup in 7:02 with a stock 2007 BMW M3
- Monza Evolution Meeting in 8:21 with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII tuned to 587 PP (all the non-removable parts plus some aero and a roll cage)
- Mount Panorama American Clubman Cup in an "unclean" 10:57 with a Dodge Tomahawk S detuned to 864 PP (my old Sardegna grinder; if not for the souped-up Corvette C8 of Serrano, I could have used one of my 600-700 PP cars)
- Spa Special Event in 15:00 with a stock Alfa Romeo 155
Before getting my Wheels of Despair, I collected my money from the two expired time trials and rented a Nissan R92CP to run around Sarthe. It was a painfully-slow 3:36.8 before I decided I needed to go to the Plus account. As for the Wheels of Despair, he 6-star from the Weekly Challenges gave the 2nd-low-showing/lowest-possible 500,000 Cr., and the 4-star from the workout gave a stage 5 weight reduction for a car that already has it available.
On the Plus account, I decided to try
@Famine's suggestion of using the Ferrari VGT, in stock form, to lap the field at Lago Maggiore. As I didn't draw the Fiat 500 F, I didn't quite do it, though I had the VW Sambabus and VW Bug on the front straight, while finishing in an "unclean" 1:22. With said Ferrari VGT I did, however, lap the backmarker at Alsace with the Ferrari VGT, while finishing in 5:08, and 3 backmarkers at Spa (could have been more, but I didn't want to risk the CRB as I was running out of time by that point), finishing in 12:29. I also lapped 6 backmarkers with the Tomahawk S at Mount Panorama, finishing in 9:54. Monza didn't see any lapped cars, but I did finish in 7:33 with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX max-tuned to 687 PP.
The 6-star Wheel of Despair gave a Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II (hung onto for stock purposes), while the 3-star (what else?) puked up the low-showing/lowest-possible 5,000 Cr
