Getting into Stalker 2.

This feels a lot like the Cyberpunk launch, the game is so good but it still needs a lot of work. I might wait for a few patches before getting completely immersed.

I'm playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 as well. Even thought there are issues, I don't think this can be compared the the Cyberpunk launch. The game is in a way better place than CP2077 at launch.

The game is performing great for me although I have had two crashes to desktop in about 30 hours of playtime.

I'm totally loving the game. As someone captivated by the story of the Chernobyl NCCP and the Zone It's truly the closest I will ever get to visiting the Zone myself. It looks and feels stunning.

I’m also hooked on Stalker 2 right now. About 30 hours into it as well and I’m probably only about a third way into the main story. Loving the exploration, side missions, and even the main story is actually kind of interesting so far, which is much better compared to original series, if I remember correctly. I thought by now I’ll get tired of the gameplay loop, but it’s still keeping me interested so far. I do hope to see some new enemies or anomalies soon, because some things are starting to get a bit repetitive, but that’s partly because I’ve been running around the same area lately. One thing I do appreciate is the difficulty of the combat. At first I thought enemies took too much to take down, but once you get better gear the fights feel a lot more fair and balanced. If you keep looting everything as you move along, you’ll have just enough gear and ammo to keep you hanging in there. The weight limit is also a curse and a blessing. If you could carry all of your weapons with you at all times, game probably would be too easy, but sometimes it does get in the way of the fun. Finding artifacts that increase your carry limit is highly recommended.

Visually, it looks great a lot of the time, especially when the weather picks up and storms roll in. It runs mostly at 60fps at 1440p with DLSS Quality using my 4060, which is good enough for me. It does drop into the mid 40s in the villages, but maybe they will address it with future patches.

Game’s also not as buggy as some reviewers may make it seem, but maybe that’s due to the day 0 patch. I’ve had very few issues so far, most notably a couple of crashes and some small bugs here and there with sound cutting out. I’m just getting to the part of the story where a lot of people say they had some bug that blocks the progression, so we’ll see what happens. The devs did promise another patch this week, so hopefully they will address at least the most critical issues such as mission blockers. I’ve had way more issues with Cyberpunk when that game launched, and I still was able to get through the game and enjoy it. Stalker, so far, is in a much better state.

CarX Street: I'm still surprised how a game that basically rips off car models (all cars are literally existing brands/models with the badges removed, with thinly veiled 'alternative' names such as 35R for the R35 GTR or M46 for the E46, how the hell do they get away with that?) and game concepts from other racers is this good. It has no right to be, but it is. I'm fairly sure many of the sounds are ripped from somewhere else too.

The new racetrack is basically a mashup of Suzuka East, Tsukuba, Fuji, Nürburgring, Interlagos, Laguna Seca, and a few others, and it works so extremely well somehow. Same for the 'not-Nordschleife' track. It's not the real thing, and has corners from other circuits thrown in (I recognized a few things from Spa, but there's probably a bit more) and you'd expect a mish-mash like that to have a broken flow, but it's the exact opposite. So much fun to drive.

I do hope the game doesn't get taken down due to the ripping off of the cars, because it's such a blast for a nice price.

OpenRCT2 time for the first time in a while, Forest Frontiers. Decided that after 14 in-game years and 4300+ guests crammed into a relative nightmare of a park layout, I had way more than enough money to close everything down and rebuild (had ~$230k to work with after selling off the older rides and levelling most of the land where I dug out for underground pathing), with me actually doing some decorating for once.

  • Two wooden roller coasters, Little Woody up front by the entrance with Big Woody in the back (😳😏)
  • 6x6 Mouse and Spin Spin Mouse working well with each other in the middle of the park
  • Mr. Bug in the bottom part of the screenshot
  • Two slightly-overbuild modifications of the Shuttle Loop design
  • Hole Puncher goes through both of their dual loops
  • Go-Kart Track in the bottom of the screenshot is, along with the ATM machine from RCT2, one of the few things I cheated to give myself
  • Four food courts so far
  • That unconnected bit of path stowed away between the dinghy slide and Big Woody is part of my future expansion towards the little bit of unbuilt land by the one natural lake in this scenario. No idea what to cram there

Expanded my PS5s storage the other week so i've started revisiting some of the bigger PS4 games i used to play but hadn't had the opportunity to download. As Fallout 76 has had some major updates with an expanded map and loads of new content since i last played (about two and a half years ago) i thought i'd go and check out the wasteland once more.

Naturally, aside from barely scratching the surface of the new content, i've just fallen into the grind of daily/weekly missions fuelled by the carrot and stick encouragement of the quarterly 'seasons' board and it's meagre yet strangely enticing offerings of free stuff.

Being almost totally out of the FO76 loop, i hadn't realised the most recent season was about to end and the 'tickets' i had gained in the past week since i started playing again were reset and lost overnight. The new season brought with it another sizeable update including tweaks to the perk tree which deselected some perk cards in players loadouts. Some players are constantly adjusting their perks build so are very familiar with what each one does and which work well in combination, but i found a general 'build' that worked for me when i hit the max level for perks (lvl150 - i'm now 450) and have barely felt the need to mess with it since. One of the perks allows you to keep any mutations you've 'developed' - which are big stat changers in FO76 and without realising it was deselected i've managed to deradiate myself and wipe my mutations clean. Thanks Bethesda Todd.

I'd kept no record of which mutations i had selected in my build and as they have both positive and negative effects on your character, you can't just get them all, they are a major part of that build and you can seriously mess it up with the wrong ones. :grumpy:

I'll be visiting No Man's Sky next, as that's another long-since-played game which has been updated beyond recognition since i last played. I'll see what damage i can do to my character in that!

Alan Wake 2 - was enjoying until I came to Old Gods chapter and then big problems came.
After Tor escapes Nursery there should be conversation with Rose, but she is not there, not in living room, not outside...
And whatever I do (read e everything from board, read transcripts), there are two For Later clues...
I triggered scene where old lady on third floor becomes Taken but nothing, old man frozes and everything is wrong!

This ruined my playthrough or somehow I can save it?

Bought PSVR2 on BF and Beat Saber is just awesome!
If only it had half songs that are DLC...
Still waiting to try GT7, playing some Pistol Whip too, also a good VR game.

Currently playing through this myself, I rushed through the remaster of the original to play this but honestly I'm not enjoying it too much, the case board is tedious and Alan's sections with the light mechanic are confusing and not necessary.

I prefer the original so far.

Haven't made it to the part you're in so can't help unfortunately.

About 90 hours into Stalker 2 and I’m already itching to start another play through. For this one, I decided not to side with Ward, but superb voice acting of Korshunov’s actor really makes it hard to stick with that choice.

Hopefully they will sort out A-Life by the time I go through it again. I’ll probably play through Indiana Jones game after finishing Stalker, so maybe they will get AI sorted by then.

I did a lot of side quests, but I know I still missed a ton of them too, so considering I’m not even done with the game after 90 hours, the scope of the game is pretty impressive.

If the game does multiple savegame slots, try an earlier one.
Otherwise any such bug can screw over a playthrough - this has happened to me on Murdered: Soul Suspect.
I dont know exactly what happened anymore, but I think a scene did not trigger as it should have, thus the story didnt continue (and I had to do a start from zero again).

Thanks.
There are no earlier saves, only two autosaves close one to each other.

But I realized how I maybe can pull myself out of this bug.
Game has chapter select and now I'm going to try this way...

UPDATE: i solved problem by chapter select!
And resumed enjoying in this great game.

Just completed The Old Gods in Alan Wake 2 and I must share with you boss fight - it's some kind of spoiler, so you don't tell I didn't warn you.

Whole chapter is long and great from start to end, and then it comes crazy one.

If you think this was cool, wait a little bit until you get to the fight at the beach. That will be truly something special!

I was playing through MegaMan X Legacy Collection 1 tonight. And for as long as I owned MegaMan X4 well before this Steam version... I finally beat MegaMan X4 (as X)! I apparently beat this game without having (something) for a Steam Accomplishment. I almost beat it again, but I kept failing on the final boss.

Before this, I went kind of on a roll in MegaMan X3 in that package. Sadly, I can't seem to get out of one of the puzzles of the first Sigma stage. Too slow for some reason.

They hacked my PS5 partner's account. They bought wukong and AC Mirage from the account. We saved the account, but the games were taken. We play them now.
That's Horrible. Glad you managed to save the account.
At least they didn't buy some utter rubbish games for you to play!
I hope they bought AC Mirage while it was on sale - even hackers must know that you don't pay full price for Ubisoft games due to the regular sales.

Too many games I'm playing at once currently, but I have 2.5 weeks off for holidays coming up to spend more time with my family games.

After about 30 hours in I put down Stalker 2 in favor of Indiana Jones figuring Stalker could only benefit from fixes/patches anyways, not that it was bad by any means but I don't mind a break for now.

Also back in to GT7 and Forza and starting Legacy of Kain Remaster.

Just finished Alan Wake 2, I loved the setting, the graphics and i have to say the locations were amazing as well (special mention to the nursing home) but the gameplay in my opinion is worse than the original, dropped the difficulty to story just to get through the game as it was just annoying and no fun.

The story I thought got quite confusing towards the end, especially Alan' segment (could just be me) and the ending sequence dragged on too long to an average conclusion.

Had high hopes for it and waited until a physical release to get it but it just didn't deliver for me, DLC was OK but again nothing special, was hoping it would challenge Silent Hill 2 and Final Fantasy Rebirth but nowhere near those games for me.

Not sure what to play next, will maybe finally give Robocop a go.

Picked up Race Pro for 360 from a second hand shop yesterday. Played it years ago albeit briefly and always wanted to jump into again. Had some time this morning to cut some laps around Anderstorp in the Lister Storm and I found it very enjoyable. Love that Jaguar howl as it flies down the long straight there.

Love the menu music too. Very atmospheric.

Day before yesterday I finished with main story too and I have similar thoughts...
Very long and confusing ending.
Game was great overall, I mostly enoyed.

This morning I finished first DLC, fun, specially with Rose, like I'm playing Lollipop Chainsaw :D

This evening I will probably finish second DLC and game goes on delete.
