What happens if I get 30 infraction points?

...and because its in the premo section....
How I miss premo and too bad I need money for it too to change my name.
Back to on topic discussion, would premo members have more slack (infraction wise) than non-premo members?
No! That I'm sure of (off).

Oh ok, I thought it was because one has supported the website but the other one is just using it. So since one has paid, the mod would give less as a little "thank you".

@ Jordan: What if a member... {example: The member makes fun of 50 members, threatened suicide and to kill some of the members, posts extremely bad language, the use of sex pictures, making useless threads day after day about 20 or more per day, being as evil as the Joker.} I doubt they will ever be able to come back 50 years later, right? :scared:

In a sense even if you aren't premium you are still supporting the site as it brings in advertising revenue(granted I'm not sure how much). I think whether or not someone gets an infraction depends more on the mod's mood than whether or not the user is premium.

Or, bluntly, you can't pay your way around the AUP. In fact, about the only way to get away with a pretty chunky AUP-bludgeoning is to have a very long term membership here and a reputation for not troubling the AUP - which is exactly the sort of person who won't then try to get away with a pretty chunky AUP bludgeoning. Neatly circular.

But no matter who you are (except Jordan), if you post up a 3200x2400 video of hardcore pornography where the participants have URLs, expletives and keygens tattooed on their 🤬, you're not going to be seeing GTP again with that username any time before the apocalypse.

In summary, if you get 30pt, you'll get banned. Try not to get 30pt and it shouldn't worry you at all. If you think you might accidentally get 30pt, get someone who doesn't have to wear mittens for their own protection to post for you.

Sounds like you have a busy weekend planned.

Note to self: if I ever get another infraction make sure its not from famine.

Somehow I still have 0 infractions and warnings after 8 years here. part of it is probably that i post sporadically enough that nobody realizes that I post trash, or that's my theory anyway.

I get the feeling that a person who is banned because they tip-toed around the swear filter and forgot they weren't supposed to, will be met with a warmer welcome back than one who personally insults a moderator's mother via the "report to moderator" button.

I have zero infractions but one warning. Just one though.

What if Jordan really did post that?

What if Jordan really did post that?

It's his site, he's free to do what he wants. If tomorrow he wanted to turn GTP into a site for hardcore pornography involving old women, he'd be free to do so. It would obviously be met with harsh criticism, but it'd be his choice. A notable example was him posting one of those Hitler videos on the main page, and people got up in a fuss over it.

Geriatric Transvestite Planet does have an interesting ring to it...

See the previous note about people who build up a reputation for not troubling the AUP.

Plus StigNumbers' post. The staff are only here as an extension of Jordan and the site is precisely what he wishes it to be. If he wants to post 🤬, 🤬 or 🤬 it's his site and his business. As an example, just see the thread created in this forum after he posted a Der Untergang video on the News page.

I get the feeling that you guys are hinting at Jordan to change the content of this site ;)

Out of interest how are infraction points given out at a time, in 1s or multiples of 5? Or just any number you see fit?

We can issue any number of points for an Infraction - including none (for a Warning). Standard points are 5pt for a relatively low-grade/first offence Infraction (Lazy Grammar) and 10pt for everything else. And 30pt for advertising.

Giving them in 1s would achieve little - someone would have to be moronic 30 times before they were banned...

I think I might have two pages stuck together there, kikie. Haven't got a clue what you're "oops"ing about.

I thnk it's because he's advertising himself as making a thread very similar to this one.

Yeah, I just wondered why 30 was the chosen number, sounds worse if you manage to get to that number though.

Well... 10's a big number with plenty of wriggle-room - we could give 5 out for a half-as-significant issue, or 9 out if someone is 10 away from being banned and lots of other permutations. 30 arises from that - if we have to tell someone to just read the sodding AUP more than twice, chances are they aren't ever going to get it...

Has a mod ever been infracted?

During the dark days of the infamous April Fools incident, a mod gave another member the password to his account, who abused it mightily. Both that mod and the member in question were banned permanently.

Other than that, no, not really. We got to be on staff by being good citizens to begin with, before getting noticed/invited.

As Famine says, 10 points gives us some fine-tuning room within an individual infraction. 3 strikes X 10 points = 30 points and then you're out.

Yes! :D

I know that you don't mean that kind of advertising but I couldn't resist making a 'stupid' joke about it. :P

I'll try to restrain myself and not make stupid jokes anymore.

Advertising your own company isn't allowed. I believe Fanatec did it when Thomas became a member.

Oh man, I've been here 2 months and have 10 points (2 infractions). Ow.

I would always think that someone paying for GTPemium would have like a 40-Point limit. (Jeez, maybe I do need Premium....)

As an earlier post said, were the person stayed off the whole summer to re-collect himself, I could never do that! I'm on this site too much to just stop.

And if Jordan ever turns GTPlanet into hardcore-pornography, well you can bet I'll never be back here.

Now I'm gonna stop before I get another infraction.....yeah right.

From now on, I'm going to stick to the GT Forums....I've never gotten into trouble there. Well, once. And that was for a early swearing issue in my own thread. Maybe I forgot to read the AUP. Going to do that. Now.

If that's your motivation to buy premium, don't, you're wasting money. Premium member don't get special treatment. Get premium to support GTP.

I never read the AUP. I don't even know where to find it.
