What happens if I get 30 infraction points?

In summary, if you get 30pt, you'll get banned. Try not to get 30pt and it shouldn't worry you at all. If you think you might accidentally get 30pt, get someone who doesn't have to wear mittens for their own protection to post for you.

I'm keeping that one.

👍

Oh man, I've been here 2 months and have 10 points (2 infractions). Ow.

Well, that's actually the fairly standard profile. People who are new violate the rules right away until they either figure out the boundaries or get banned. Sounds like you've done the former, so I wouldn't live in fear if I were you.

👍

Well I hope so, I love this site to death, I mean I could not find a site with more info and stuff to talk about (well, maybe Facebook, but it sucks)

And no Kikie, I wouldn't just get Premium just to gave it. Unfortunately for mes, I'm only 14 so there's noooooo chance of getting a credit card. And that's funny you didn't even know where to find the AUP  Well, niether did I :guilty:

Ok, just read the AUP, and one of the strangest things is that GTPlanet has the right to contact your Internet Service and I suppose they would block the site from your computer? Well that was not a wasted 2 minutes of my life, I actually DID learn something there. Thanks.

No, they'd terminate your Internet service if whatever you are posting/doing to GTPlanet is in violation of their own network use policies.

DAMNNN. Sorry I felt that that was the only way to express how shocked I am/was.

Here's a question about infraction points.

Lets say member "A" gets an infraction point/s issued by Moderator "A".Member "A" feels he is in the right and should not have received the point/s that were issued to him. Does member "A" have the right to contact Jordan and dispute the infraction ? Have infraction points ever been overturned in any such manner after a quick review of the "supposed" infraction ?

Just being curious,that's all.

Yes. I frequently point out to people that they are perfectly entitled to contact the admins or Jordan if they're unhappy with how I treat them.

However, all such moderating decisions automatically result in a thread being created - so every member of staff is aware of every Warning/Infraction.

I don't recall that any Infraction points have been reversed upon review, though we have had occasion to discuss a decision between ourselves. Only two occasions spring to my mind, though I'm obviously not at liberty to say who, where, when, why or what. Neither, though, were prompted by the member involved.

Whoa! Really? So if I am really annoyed and for whatever reason decide not to be a member here anymore and I post a porno movie on the site, I don't only get a permaban but I lose my internet? Wow!

If that activity is in violation of your ISP's network use policies (to which you agreed when you signed the contract for them to supply you) then yes.

I've read the Banned User Log a number of times, and I've noticed alot of people who were banned once, and when they came back, they were banned again on the spot. But I've also known people who were banned once, came back, and weren't banned again. How do you come to the decision to give them another chance or not?

Speaking from past experience on other forums, it's usually because returning members typically fall into one of two categories. Either they're coming back for malicious purposes (some of the Banned User Log entries make it fairly obvious with their usernames), or they have a desire to reform, to wipe the slate clean. As with many other situations in this thread, it's on a case-by-case basis usually since you have to balance the decision with a none-too-easy-to-nail-down sense of how much this particular user brings to the table in regards to the site.

That's how I see it, anyways. This might be one of the more PG-rated forums I'm a member of, but I've never witnessed any of the Mods abusing their power. I've witnessed plenty of places where the staff have a chip on the shoulder about a few members in particular, and will ban or infract for little reason other than it. It's a pretty safe bet around these parts that if you get either of those things, you had it coming to you.

SlipZtrEm's explanation is pretty much spot on here.

It seems that I got warnings after all. I never received or read them. I would like to know where I can find these warnings. As Jordan said in My GTPlanet but I can't find these warnings or maybe even infractions.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure.

If you have any it will come up on your profile page in-between 'Friends' and 'Contact Info'. It's blindingly obvious and everytime I visit my page it is a constant reminder. Its quite an effective spot to be honest :).

Good thing other people can't see it.

Aha, thanks for clearing that up.

Depends on the situation. If you are doing it over and over again the warnings become low end points. I assume that if you continue ignoring moderators then it will be come high end points and eventually a ban.

You have to be a real failure to get banned from repetitive grammar issues though.

Your grammar doesn't look half bad, anyways. Maybe a space between the question mark and the next question is all, and I doubt you'd get a warning for not doing it.
