What have you been doing in game just for the sheer fun of it?

I play online :sly: If I am feeling 'silly', then I open an online room and put the track Willow Springs and go exploring and off roading. Anyone who wants to join, joins. Can be lots of fun

Just keep in mind that there's a serious bug with the aftermarket rims that causes the rear tires to be the same width as the front tires which typically destroys the handling of the car making it very prone to overstreer as well as feeling twitchy. There's a dedicated thread for this subject so I'm only mentioning it here.

Yeah, I saw that thread, thanks for the heads up though .

Wow, I'm not the only! May I recommend adding the rest of them to the bunch as well? Used to do this quite a lot in GT4, 2 of each car would run the courses in normal as well as reverse, add up the times, find a winner of that rally, rinse and repeat. Peugeot Driver 2 took the driver title, but Subaru (for obvious reasons) won the manufacturer championship. I should definitely do that again :)

On the topic of things I do in GT6 when I'm bored, I like to actually try to pace a race in arcade mode. The problem is, the AI acts pretty much like your average online racer: they're blind as heck and wreck it every time. I did have one succesful pace, though, with ~500PP cars at Nürburgring. Safety car going into the pits and the racers going back to normal ended up looking quite well.

Haha cool, Group B cars will be up next, just need raise somemore capital for some purchases.

Time Trials, Time Trials, Time Trials, Hot Laps, Flying Laps, Time Trials, Seasonal Event Time Trials, TT's.

Time trials are my absolute favorite thing to do in sim racing whether it's GT, iRacing, rFactor or Forza. TT's allow you to fully appreciate a circuit/track without any distractions and they force you to be consistent which is something that is very important in real world racing but is rarely the case in normal races on GT outside of Time Trials and Endurance races. I haven't even got to 50% completion in GT6 career because of the time I spend on Seasonal Events or in "Single Player Arcade" trying to find a way to shave down a few 10th's of a second at certain circuits or just trying to find braking points and learn a new car/track.

I'm just gonna throw this out there: I sometimes turn this game on strictly to hear the garage music, look at car stats, and un-wind from a long day at work.

same here...
I can sit in the garage for (girlfriend timed it) More then an hour and a half...
Did not even notice myself it was that long....

I came home from work, finding out my girl was chilling half to sleep in the bed so i greet her and said "well i'll grab a race or two untill you're well awake... Well, after that period of time she came into the hobbyroom asking me wth i was doing that long in this "game" without hearing the G25 spinning up.. She can hear it a bit through the walls normally..

i was like damn girl, i still need a race, didn't do any... Just reading and comparing stats of my rufs...
She was like giving me the mad turning finger on the head sign... And saying it was well over 1h30min later...

I was like huh?...

Love the chilly surroundings of the garage it seems.... :)

I do the 15 Laps of Matterhorn Mini Course. It's a lot of fun, especially in LMP1 cars. In fact, I'm thinking about doing it right now.

Sadly nothing fun yet, as I'm still trotting along in career.
I should be done this week so I'll need fun things to do to keep playing GT6 otherwise...

Well, I blew a few hundred thousand credits away trying to make a 2CV Nordwand-K-Trail-compatible.
It worked.
It wasn't worth it.
Also, squeezed 182bhp out of a Beetle, drove the fantastic RX-500 up the Goodwood Hill Climb, fell in love with the R8 Gordini and realised the full potential of the R32 Touring Car (Holy S:bowdown:t it's a monster). And many various other things, loving the game so far, except for the ST185 Rally Car's lack of interior glitch.

-Set lap times while driving in reverse (using rear mirror).
-Get drunk and drive.
-Drive while blindfolded. Have someone direct you.

Some things I thought about but haven't tried
-Swap the default controller layout from left to right. Left hand controls gas and brake while right hand controls the steering.
-Set driving controls to one side of controller in order to drive with one hand.
-Ram AI into pits.

I think the mirrored-controls could actually be quite fun, not to mention hilarious to look at

I just tried it with swapping the gear shift as well. It didn't go well :P
It wasn't too difficult to control when I kept the shift up and down on the same buttons. The mirrored controls remind me of when I played racing games on my PC many years ago. I think X was accelerate and Z was brake. The arrow keys were used for steering and shifting.

I spend time going through my garage and tuning cars to take out on the test track. Sadly, it seems that what I do when I go out testing does not always show up in the real races. I still have a few races to complete including the "kart nightmares" but that will come in time. I hope that the issues with custom rims/tires gets resolved so that we all can use this feature without the fear that the cars don't drive right......

By sheer accident I discovered the S7 is a great off road buggy for the wide open willow springs tracks/infield...

I've been reading through the info on all the cars in the dealership. Some of them have some pretty neat history!

I actually wish that there was an option to only allow each car to appear once on the leader board. That way I can try to use the same car to move from 2nd to 1st, rather than have that car appear on the list as 1st and 3rd.
agreed

I finished the game a while back so the thing I do now is the same thing I also do on PC simulators as rFactor 2...Hot laps, grab a car, choose a circuit I like (Nürburgring mostly and Streets of Willow depending the horse power) and do laps, laps and more laps.
Then a session of photos for myself and go to other forums (in my language) to talk about those particular cars with other simulator fans.

I like to test the cars, to see what is good with it, what is realistic or not with GT6 physics and stuff like that. Then when seasonal events appear, I do them to grab credits and buy a bunch of cars and test them all.

Also recording my best laps to compare the cars too. (planning to do some cool stuff with replays in the near future)

All sorts. I am in NO rush to complete the game. Only just unlocked A-licence. My mission with GT6 is to try out cars I never used in GT4 or GT5. So many. Toyota SC road car and that '89 Mitsubishi Concept are next on my list.

As I've said countless times, my favourite pastime is buying all the 'crap cars' (Beetle, 2CV, VW army cars, Subaru 360, Mazda Carol, Honda Today etc) and blowing thousands at them to turn them into race winners. I have a range of cars spanning PPs and types, but its pretty telling when my most successful car at 21 different wins.....is the 2CV (in my avi). I love the troll car thing. Pretty pleased that you can get more power (plus NOS) out of the '49 Bug this game!

I also like to make 'Project cars'. Usually buy some FF V6 European D-sector car such as the Vauxhall Vectra, Alfa 166 etc and take them up through the ranks, tuning as I go and seeing if I can beat GTRs, Evos et al in the high end races. SO satisfying when I do. I never do things by the book. You might find the odd supercar in my garage but thats about it.
