What have you been doing in game just for the sheer fun of it?

OP here. Doing something different now. After reading a couple of other threads about game music (I always turn the music off immediately) and troll cars (over the top sleeper cars) I decided to go low stress by turning the music on (and up,) buying a few cars (keeping them stock on stock tires,) driving only from cockpit view, switching cars often, and doing a lot of the early races over again.

Also built a 450pp (everything but Nitrous) VW Karman Ghia to play with as well.

Here's the VW taking the lead for the first time on its initial outing.

And here it is blazing a trail on Comfort Soft tires.

Dayum the classics had gone wild!

I unlocked the S license and ... lost a bit of the momentum I had while beating the game to 100%.
So I decided (just like in GT5) to build my car collection in GT6. Nothing exciting, I know.
But this time I will do it the other way around - buying the cheaper cars first and actually driving them in single player races to earn some cash for other cars, with minimum tuning.
I'm not even trying to be first, even though it's the case most of the time. Which is good - more money to buy more cars. I'm going for the championships because they include all kinds of tracks which can play with both strengths and weaknesses of the cars and they give you extra cash if you are first at the end.
And since I buy the cars from cheaper to more expensive ... maybe I'm looking for cars I overlook in GT5 so I can play with these cars in GT6 online too. :)
So .. yeah! That's my 2 cents.

Running a stock RUF CTR Yellow Bird at the Nurburgring 24M challenge on racing hards. It's only fun the first 7 minutes in.

OP here again. A new day, something new to do for the sheer enjoyment of it. Tomorrow (and Sunday) is the GTPlanet WRS (Weekly Race Series) Parity event. Parity events match different cars, drivers of different skill levels, and puts them on an even footing through it's rules. If you'd like the details just click the link above but it comes down to everyone builds their own car of choice on a specific set of tires (Sport Medium in this case) to go around Indy Road Course in an American car (any car from the North American side of Dealerships) no quicker than 1:42.000 and not exceed 165mph at the end of of the longest straight. It's a "race what you brought event" where everyone's turning the same lap times no matter what the car is or the skill level of the driver. Racing is VERY fast, close, exciting, and almost entirely clean (minor bumps do happen, we all understand that.) It's the kind of event where pretty much everyone walks away with a huge smile on their face because it's just that much fun.

But what's so fun right now when the event is tomorrow? I built a car for this event immediately after the event was announced. I'd always wanted to do something with the Cadillac CTS-V, no one had "claimed" (there's no rule about using the same car but generally we all try to run something different to mix it up, call it an unspoken rule if you will though no one will begrudge someone thier choice of car) the car yet so that's what I went with. I've practiced Indy to the point that I've got the car honed to within a tenth with a max of 158mph at the end of the straight. It may sacrifice 7mph on the top end but it'll cut an apex like a blade. This is possibly the most perfect car I've ever created. It's beautiful, fast, agile, and a pure joy to drive. The fun part is where I take this car and drive it in it's purest form: Cockpit view, all race info turned off, volume up, music off.

I've been re-doing a lot of the earlier events and this car being FR, "Normal" car, at 535PP can enter a lot of events. There are arcade mode races as well. That's what I've been doing. I'm relaxing, not stressing about cutting the fastest lap times or forcing passes or anything of the sort. I'm driving as if I'm REALLY in that car that I worked years to afford, within the limits of me and the car. I treat all the other cars as if they're piloted by real people that I don't want to run into afterward in the pits after I've smashed in their bumper or fender. I show them the respect I'd show a real driver. I'm still fast and I'm still winning but without the stress and distractions of leader board position, timing, lap data, or having to win. Just me, car, wind and road noise, a ribbon of asphalt in front of me, and the glorious roar of a 7000 RPM V8.

Ive been buying cheap cars(volvo estate, audi s4 ect.) and lowering them like crazy with rims and crazy paint colors. passes some time with it.

I spent a boat load of credits buying lower and higher end performance models of cars from a variety of makes and go and see how well they do on tracks in arcade mode time trials

I have been trying to figure out tuning and in the process I have quick tuned about 80 cars. Once I am "satisfied" I put it in the favorites. Tuned with all displays everything I can take in and apply concepts I have seen throughout the forums to the car.

I pick a race with much higher PP AI I turn off all displays and just me and the road. I lose track of time and really is the best racing I have done. I even forget what place I am in and by the time the race ends I am often surprised by the finish.

Try it out!

Also been trying some online racing which has been fun. Everyone seems to use racing softs so had to adapt some special cars for that, but been good.

Just doing races over and over again for money. I can't play online (but I can still get the login bonus and do seasonals) until I can get better internet sometime in February, which I absolutely can't wait for. I took my PS3 to my friend's house a bunch of times and played GT5 online with his internet. I had a blast every single time and met some great people along the way, so I'm looking forward to GT6 online. :)

I've been mostly tuning 500 pp cars so far, will be moving down to 475 pp after about 20 more cars. The Stratos at 500 pp is a beast and a lot of fun with the proper tune.

I have to say that I think the 500pp class (475-525) of racing is really my most enjoyable. There are a lot of great cars in that range. The racing is fast but not frantic. The cars have enough power to be a handful if you push too far but give a great feeling of satisfaction when you drive them well.

I haven't been racing them (only opened a open lobby once so far) just tuning and am thoroughly impressed in a few cars. I do tune with SS tires as the way I see it if I put $200k into a car in real life I'd have the best non race tires on my car not the ones that came on it stock :sly:. The 03' S2K is so far the winner by a very large margin but some fun ones so far are the Spyker, Silvia S15, Prowler, Camaro SS 69', Elise 11', Range Rover Evoque and my 300C all in the 7:10 - 7:15 range. The S2K is about 10 - 15 seconds faster though.

Oh and I've been putting the correct real world Weight distribution on me and my friends cars. I've done 30 or so cars so far and only 5 have been right, the proper w/d's make most of the cars feel much better than how PD have them set up for the most part but some cars are made into even bigger monsters (91' NSX with w/d of 42/58 I'm looking at you ).

Grinding the Red Bull Junior event for $$$ - man, that's a fun car to drive!
Taking that $$$ and collecting cars at random. In one sweep I might buy an '88 Accord, an Audi R8, and a JGTC Toyota Supra
Building sleepers - I had a blast with the Focus ST '06 in the Tour of America event
Using multiple cars for a single event; e.g. a separate car for each race
Taking at least one action photo after each race
Collecting paint chips
Painting base models and GT originals (like the RX-7 Touring Car, etc.)
