What have you done to your car today?

But you know how it is... Add stickies, then you'll realise the suspension could use some work as well, and then you realise that leather seat is pretty useless at holding you while cornering, that you could use a bit more power and better brakes... it's all downhill from here.

Wish I'd learned that lesson three sets of tires ago...

Been meaning to buy a set of Malaysian-made Gajah Tunggals to replace my AD07s... should be epic.

Kaaz 2 way and 1 piece driveshaft ordered!

Good luck changing the strut cartridges without a vice. :nervous:

In a similar situation myself, changing the wheel bearings on my Mini this weekend without the use of a hydraulic press, hoping I can butcher the old outer races out cleanly enough to get the new ones in without any damage, have some spare hubs but would rather not use them as my sons just picked up a Mini of his own, his one currently has drum brakes all round so my spare hubs mean he'll be able to rip them off and install some discs.

Took delivery of a rather smaller than expected box of bits so there's plenty to do this weekend. :)

Yeah, I had a monkey wrench on the gland nut and was swinging a pretty heavy sledgehammer at that while standing on the strut. No dice.

Finally got the summer rims and tires put on, car feels really different but I guess that's what driving on winter tires does to your perception after 6 months.

Got my Federal Refund yesterday. Suggestions on what to get my Nissan after the purchase of a PS3, GT5, and an HDTV? (about $5-700 total out of $1,400)

I've been steadily putting the interior of my Accord back together over the last couple days, still have a bit to go. My first day off after I get payed next Thursday I am finally ordering my engine. After eight months of having to bike everywhere I will be driving my own car again. Time has slipped by quick, but these next two weeks or so will be unbearable!

I went to the store to get a gallon of ice cream, it should have been a 10 minute trip, I added 20 and got sideways twice. 👍

Soft serve! I think i'm gonna be sick...

I'll never know if you're posting from the pot...

Also, I've been looking for the perfect Gran Turismo decal forever and finally found it. I'll see what my check looks like when it clears tonight and probably get one for my back window.

I put a few random parts on the MR2. New FRAM air filter, new dome light lens (after I shattered the old one), and the coolant reservoir cap assembly (original had dry-rotted and no longer fit). And TRD license plate bolts.

Well the stock screws were ugly and rusty anyways...You can find all sorts of wonderful things on eBay for $2.99.

I'll have to look for some of those lug nuts whenever I get new wheels.

I'm having the knew brakes I bought a month ago installed this weekend on the passat. They're freakin' big! I'll post up some pics when I get it back home Monday.

Eric.
Big brake kit on a Passat? For what purpose?

Well I have the 2.0T B6 and I have a tuner that was told that there were brakes off the B6 3.6 VR6 4MOTION passat at a junk yard type facility. Normally all 4 brakes on the V6 4Motion passat are near $2,000. I got all four brake roders for $200 and got them buffered and fixed, looking brand new for another $100 and getting them installed for $200. A deal I really could not turn down :).

Was going to replace the top and bottom ball joints on the Mini today but decided against it, we have a few bank holiday weekends coming up so I'll save that job for when I've got a long weekend to do it properly. Will feel much better if I can completely remove the front hubs and take a bit of time to clean/paint and rebuild them, got the wheel bearings to do so it'll be much simpler in the vice on the bench rather than rolling round the driveway!

Did get round to changing the brake pads though and replacing the engine stabiliser bar bushes, the rubber was completely shot at one end hence the knocking I was getting every time I lifted off.

Also screwed the fusebox back to the bulkhead... For some reason one of the screws was missing???

I went for a drive in the country which was beautiful (first good warm weather drive of the year) and then cleaned my windshield and then rearranged the junk in my trunk to get my summer tires in, so that I can take them to be mounted on Monday (I really need to buy winter rims, if I had've done that when I got my snows they would've paid for themselves already, with the cost of having them mounted and dismounted every winter.. Top tip right there.)

I'm really going to piss off my neighbor - when my car got towed back to my place after I broke down, he asked over the fence what had happened to it (this was the first time we'd ever spoken), I said not sure probably nothing major, he said oh damn I was hoping you'd blown it up so I wouldn't have to hear it any more! (It's already above normal for noise, although I wouldn't call it loud)

So now the old w****r is going to have to put up with my new exhaust, booked it in for next tuesday.

New front tires. Hankook Ventus V2 Concepts.

They're awesome next to the strangely destroyed Sumitomos that were up front... Which had rollunder issues and generally got chewed way quicker than they should've. Feels so much more secure around corners now, I am the happies. Next spring it's time for RX-hate wheels and proper summer tires provided I have a job by then.

If I have one gripe it's that the car is back to being a 6 now and therefore pulls slightly to the right at all times. Problem? Nahhhhh.
