What have you done to your car today?

Why would it be hard to believe someone owns a 96 Viper GTS?
Because more often than not, someone who claims to own a cool car on the internet doesn't actually own it.

That, and the fact that you called it a "Viper GTS" instead of just "Viper". I don't usually hear people say "my Civic DX" or "my Skyline GT-R V-Spec II" when casually referring to their cars.

If you have one, cool, but it's easy to make big claims on the internet.

Understood, but the GTS was to note that I have the hardtop version of the car.
Sheesh, at least I didn't say "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"

Easiest way to show you have the car is write on a piece of paper your username and GTPlanet, place it on the car and then take a picture. That way there is no doubt.

Finally dropped the monster truck a bit:

Thanks guys! Note the 2 car seats in the back - she makes for a fun baby hauler!:D

Just a little drive around today, no more leaks now they've fixed it properly, although my exhaust does have an annoying leak which sounds HORRIBLE. So I'll be taking it in next week sometime, and, true to my methodology with the entire car so far, it isn't being fixed, its being upgraded. Details to come.

Other than that, I know it isn't ideal to have a BOV on a car fitted with an AFM and that you need to set them fairly stiff so you don't studder and cough and all that when it goes off due to the engine being very rich, but, call me childish if you like, isn't it BLOODY FUN when you give it a bit of the right foot, take it off and go to accelerate again and you get a large BANG with a flame out the exhaust? Well I think it is :)

I rocked a curb the other morning in the Miata, put about 6 inches of curb rash on each passenger wheel, i'm pretty sure I was airborne for a second. No other damage though, seems to track fine. Digging through cds when tired is not a good idea.
:dunce:

I wasn't having a dig man just pointing out the severity of it. Lessons learnt and all that. I know I've learned a few lessons in similar fashion over the years.

Silver lining is you have an excuse to go shopping for some nice light weight rims

He already has some nice Kosei K1s that he's been meaning to give to me.

Please tell me it wasn't the Koseis.

As for me, the MR2 is back on the road after getting the rotors turned, and all of the pulsing from the warped rotors is gone now. 👍

I know, and i've got some decently nice decently light weight wheels. 👍

GIVE?!

That's nothing to laugh about!

And soon to be off again.

I know! I don't want wheels that look like they were owned by some stupid kid that digs for CDs (CDs?! What is this, 2002? And why do you even have a CD player in your Miata?!) while driving down the road.

No it's 1987 and we're all driving spaceships!

Music's music, we can't all afford fancy mp3 players!

So today after work I drove the car to a exhaust place my friend had highly recommended to me (I can see why, I love his workshop, race and show cars everywhere, seems that he mainly does systems for those cars) so he could check out what it needed and do up a price for me. After discussing the options, looks like I'll be keeping the current custom dump pipe I already have, as it looks like it'll already flow nicely, but from the end of the dump pipe it'll be a full 3" stainless mandrel bent system, with high flow cat into a single (no resonator half way) stainless sports muffler tucked up under the body (I hate those cannon mufflers) and a stainless tip, and he's going to treat the tip for me so it has that blue gold effect on the end of it.

Going to be a big difference from the 2.5" press bent system with standard cat, resonator and poor quality muffler I currently have. I'm going to be away a lot over the next few weeks with work so I'll take it in as soon as I get a chance, probably after easter some time.

Bought a set of these today. I've managed to keep it mod-free for almost a year... Which is an amazing feat.

But you know how it is... Add stickies, then you'll realise the suspension could use some work as well, and then you realise that leather seat is pretty useless at holding you while cornering, that you could use a bit more power and better brakes... it's all downhill from here.

Makes me wanna get some, I don't think I could ever decide on a size though...

Edit: I think I would like some 195/50R15s as they are nearly an inch shorter and 1lbs lighter than the 55s, but they so much more expensive. :dunce: Either way, i'd still be looking at a combined weight of around 31-32lbs... Too heavy. :indiff:

EVO X. Much more comfortable than the STi I had 3-4 years ago, despite being relatively close in terms of pace. I don't really want to go down the mod route, seeing how it's my daily, I have to carry the kid in it, and my back is getting worse and worse as the years go by (I blame that on years of driving crapboxes with stiff suspensions), and besides, I have two other money pits that haven't turned a wheel since last summer.

That's the plan, unless I could find something that'll A) suit my taste, and B) not break the bank.

I know a guy with a white Evo X that just got a RHD Evo 7 because he hurt his right arm in a motorcycle accident. The X is on gold Advan RGIIs and looks pretty good. His mom drives that car now, apparently.
