What have you done to your car today?

propane tank? hows it all work? is that like LPG or a little different?

Propane is the major component of LPG in most markets.

I'm interested in doing a methane conversion, actually... since I may have a source of methane... (our farm runs generators on it) but I can't find any data on conversion for EFI motors.

SP1s. I'm getting 17x8 +37 Normal Discs for the fronts (So I can fit bigger brakes in the future) and 17x8 +37 Super Low Discs for the rears. The fronts with have a lip depth of 57mm and the rears a depth of 69mm, which hopefully will look pretty good (I couldn't find exact matches on google, and no refunds on order, so if they don't look nice I'm screwed!)

Gorgeous wheels. I was considering Work Meister S1s (knockoffs?) before I discovered the Enkei RPF1 (dont have them yet, of course). But boy if I had the money to burn...

So tempting.

Yeah the Meisters look a lot like the SP1s, I like them too. RPF1s are a good looking wheel as well.

I can't wait to get them, but at the same time now that I've paid for them I'm starting to worry, like, what if I don't like them when I see them on the car? What if I'm not satisfied with 17" and my car suits an 18"? Wheels are such a make or break item, so I hope I got it right!

17" will look just fine for your car. I was debating whether a 16" would look better on my MR2 but these 15s are perfect, 16s would look goofy.

Yup, a lot of people go overboard with wheel sizes, underestimating how big a wheel actually is. my 17x9s look monstrous compared to anything else I've had, but in the scheme of things they're really not that big.

I also spent months looking for pictures and specs online until I was satisfied that I wanted that particular look.

The only thing is that some wheel sizes/color look smaller. My MB Weapons look smaller than stock, and other wheels that have a thick "rim" with a distinct face give that impression. Some RPF1s look that way.

15's on an AW11 is the biggest i'd go, any bigger than that and I think it looks like a toy car.

I spent one hour cleaning one door jam, and i'm not even finished. :dunce:

On a different note, CG Locks, what a waste IMO. I saw these on Flying Miata and thought they'd be neat. A local autoxer was selling two for the price of one, the reviews I read seemed good, why not? First of all i'm too skinny for them, so they don't even work for me, second, even if they did fit properly, they'd only hold the bottom part of the belt snug. I found a way to put one on the belt right as it comes out of the retractor, this holds me tight but is a pain to do and doesn't seem very safe. I also just found out about the whole quickly pulling the belt to get it to lock then moving the seat forward trick, which works perfectly. Overall, I suppose if your large enough to make use of them, they may work but your money could be better spent.

I reckon sp1s are like that too, I see 18s on some cars and they look like 17s. We shall soon see i guess!

Meanwhile I got back to Brisbane today and my spacers had arrived, couldn't help fit one to see the difference, they push the factory rim out A LOT so the 8" wide rims are going to be dead sexy, right out flush I reckon.

The spacer itself is also really great quality, perfect fit, absolutely no play while at the same time not tight.

I'm a huge fan of white lettering... so I did my Tucson and Polaris! Probably won't last long on the ATV, but what the heck it'll look good till then!

I put on some seat covers my GFs car that she picked out:

Then we swapped the bolts on my friends car.

And Finally for safety I got some different tires:

If you want to know more about why its on my ride thread.

Screw tires, get some wheels that don't look retarded...Also glad to verify that MB Weapons do look worse with center caps.

Hey, bro, I am going to get some rims AND tires. After an exhaust. I'm planning to have some nice white 17, 5 spoke on it. But compared to the other set, ANYTHING is better as far as tire wise...rims are an opinion, I didn't say they look the best either.;)

Sorry to hear that. Take one last look at the contents of your wallet then kiss it goodbye ;)

Welcome to the dark side all the same though.

My engine's pretty much ready to go in, I'm just waiting for a replacement intake manifold to get here. I decided that since I don't care to fix my A/C while I still own the sedan, I took the entire system out of the bay to further clean things up. That, plus the power steering and cruise control deletes, battery relocation, and wire tuck freed up an incredible amount of space. I'm almost done degreasing everything as well, just the firewall to go. It's gonna look pretty sweet when I'm done, I think.

Good work, I'm looking forward to seeing photos. I would get so sick of not having power steering though haha. It's ok on a track car, but living with it in traffic, parking etc... You're arms are going to get huge!

It's actually not bad at all driving around town. It is, after all, a fairly small car not a truck with huge tires. Turning at a dead stop is a bit tough but as long as the wheels are rolling even a little it's hardly a workout. The way my engine is set up, the ps pump has its own belt, so I started by just taking that off to see how I liked it, and now I can't imagine going back.

If it's a hydraulic system you might want to drain the fluid too - no point in turning "against the fluid" when you could have a freewheeling pump. Depends on how it's designed of course...

Yeah, it's hydraulic. The pump's off the engine and the lines are removed from the bay, disconnected at the rack. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

I'd like to be there when this guy goes through a visual inspection, or better yet an emissions test done on a dyno, haha! Same car as me... guess what engine:

The RB's in the bay purely for the sake of a photo, btw. He's got a lot of work to do before everything will clear. Using an S14 rear subframe, iirc.

My bay clean-up. Firewall still needs cleaning, and I've either got to see if an impact gun will unbolt the old downpipe or I'll have to cut it off.

Yup... just the crank and alternator pulleys.

Think a motor swap would pass inspection?

Yeah...good point :dopey:

Anyhow, today I went into my local tire place, they had brought me in a set of 4 Dunlop Sport Maxx TTs to have a look at in 215/45/17 (decided to go 215 to help fit them in the guards), I compared them to a set of Bridgestone RE002s and they look pretty good and get a good review, so I put a deposit on them so he holds them there for me until my rims arrive. Its getting closer!
