What have you done to your car today?

Not mine, but ordered one like it.

Sparco 325, except I got a leather one.

Gave The Cereal Box a good clean-up and started suggesting wheels for my dad's '08 Accord Euro. Any opinions? The wheels he really wants are O.Z. Racing Botticellis but at $1391 for just a single wheel it's pretty much out of the question. He wants 19x8.5".

Based on the design of those wheels he wanted I'd advise you to look in an Advanti Racing catalogue, they are full of wheels of that kind of design, and cover quite a few brands. Here is a link - note the a4 and a5 are similar.. And Advanti stuff is usually pretty affordable.

(Keep browsing through that site, the link is just one section)

Personally though I'd try and convince him to go with 18s, they'd look better suited in my opinion and you'd have a bit more cushioning to protect the rims when using it as a daily.

And then go with SSR SP1s

Suede goes better with most cars' interiors, imo, leather can easily look out of place. I've been considering a Sparco wheel (as well as reclineable buckets) myself, once I have enough "go" to justify the "show."

My replacement manifold came today, so I got that all on and the rest of the engine buttoned up. Except the old oil filter, the damn thing wont come off. I got frustrated and called it a night. If I care enough to get up before noon tomorrow I'll probably have the engine ready to go in the car for Sunday, work schedule permitting. I could literally have made a baby and celebrated its birth in the time my daily driver's been out of comission, you better believe I'm dying to drive the piss out of it.

I actually need an aftermarket wheel. The stock MR2 wheel is kinda like driving a bus, and I need more knee clearance. Its also looking a little ratty.

Hmmmm looking at them I've decided Celica needs a new wheel. That one perfect's getting with the little yellow mark on the top looks great - in suade too.

I agree on Advantis but I'm 100% sure I won't be able to convince him to go with 18s...the Accord Euro already has 18x8.0s and he wants a size bigger in both respects.

I found him a set of wheels that are cheap and look good on the Euro but I'll also suggest the Advanti A4s as that looks like the sort of style he's going for.

Yeah those are all right, similar in face design to a lot of BBS wheels.

Make sure you send pics when he's decided on and fitted a set 👍

Don't know if I want leather or suede though.

Suede is good if you don't drive the car often, and with gloves. Without gloves, the Suede gets dirty and wet from your sweaty hands and very quickly falls apart. Not to mention the oils in your hands ruins them as well.

I had another pic of a NRG Suede wheel that I can't find, that had completely worn out in less than a year's driving time.

Polyurethane sway bar and end link bushings. Was hoping that would get rid of the slight clunk I have in the front over bumps. I was pretty sure that the struts were blown but the car doesn't bounce or float so I changed out the bushings. Now I can tell at least one is blown. I guess I need to order a set of GR2s and be done with it. The current adjustables are nice but I don't drive as briskly as I used to so the stock replacements will do.

Is the benefit of suede having more grip? I planned to go with leather to begin with since suede is kind of uncommon and probably looks out of place in an otherwise stock interior.

Just spent SEVEN HOURS replacing the passenger-side CV joint which involved, among other things...

*lots of music from a "music festival" (nee, HippieFest) just across a cornfield from my grandma and grandpa's place, where I was working in the clean garage, out of the rain.
*lots of PB Blaster on the strut bolts
*spending about two hours and lots of swearing trying to get the inner CV joint out, even with calls to my father...
*grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.
*making a custom pry bar from an old tire iron to get the inner CV spline out.
*dumping about a half-quart of gear oil on the floor after it finally DID come out.
*putting the new one in in about fifteen minutes
*spending two hours and even MORE swearing...and some praying...trying to figure out how to pull out the speed sensor. Because Nissan (Ironically for such a fragile transmission) made it the ONLY WAY TO ADD OIL.
*spending five minutes adding oil and putting the speed sensor back in.
*coming home with a "Grease Tan."

Yup. Proof that DIY doesn't always go as planned....

Still, at least it won't end up in the crush stack when I head to the Bigfoot Open House next Saturday.

Suede has more grip, but it's also meant to be used with gloves. With your normal hands, it has slightly more grip but gets wet and matted down after driving from your hands getting sweaty. And then, once the suede wears out, you're left with a leather steering wheel that doesn't look as nice.

I should also mention that if you've got a steering wheel like a Personal Neo Grinta or a Momo Monte Carlo, they're more or less designed without a lot of hand movement in mind. The reason I am getting the one I am is because it has no contours for your hands, which is ideal for drifting, where your hands are all over the wheel.

So I got my rear sway bar in today. The 🤬 seller shipped it totally bare with shipping tags wrapped around the bar...And managed to lose one of the mounting brackets somewhere between Florida and here. Also charged me twice as much for shipping as it cost him. He'll be getting some nasty feedback and equally bad messages.

Eric, that's gotta piss you off - what a damn idiot! You will be able to pick up some new bushes fairly easily for it that should include the brackets, probably a better idea than running second hand bushes but still, really crap of him to send it like that.

Well I'm talking to a guy that races these things, he has end links for me, he might have mounting brackets too. These bushings are in good shape. Still soft and pliable.

I recently "installed" a new sticker....lol....:

and here a pic of my coupé with 18" rims and coilovers (adjustable in height and hardness):

I have to say I love more and more driving this car because it is so rare in my region!

Cheaper than that. Doesn't look like they happen to include the brackets though, so I'm still SOL for now.

That was a private seller, I take it, not one of those import part sites I should look out for?

My H22 is in the Accord now, got everything hooked up that I can hook up at this time. Still a couple things needed before it can be started, and a yet a few more before I can really drive it. I am so proud of myself, it must be said. I feel I can do anything after this ordeal.

Kai, very nice Coupe!

What would you guys say about suede seat inserts? I was thinking leather for my rears, but with suede butt and back sections so people aren't sliding around. Butts and backs get sweaty though, haha!

Right, private seller on ebay. Only one of two rear sways that were for sale.

I have a feeling suede seats are going to have way worse wear qualities than a suede steering wheel...

Nah... the steering wheel will get it worse. The constant rubbing and sweat from your hands will wear into it right quick.
