What have you done to your car today?

Does it have a quick release like race cars do?

But I kind of like mixing an old car with some newer tuner flare, gives it a one off look.

MOMO doesnt even have a steering wheel adapter for a 67 Mustang let alone a quick release.
I had to drill and weld together an adapter to make it fit her car. You are going to see a lot of modern and retro on this car. A lot of similar things I did with my 69 camaro. I cant wait to see how the Saleen S281 exhaust turns out this weekend. Been wanting to do that for many years.

 that's a good point.

I assume you'll be taking the Mustang to Grattan next year? I've always wanted to get over there for the track days, mainly because I would like to see your Camaro. Hopefully I can go next time there is an event.

The Mustang is not even drivable yet and is FAR from safe enough to take to Grattan. I will be happy if I can at least drive it around the block this year before winter hits.

However I really want to get the Camaro out to Grattan next year for sure. Probably be a while before the Mustang is strong enough to handle Grattan or any road tracks. I just wouldnt feel comfortable beating that car up until I put in a lot more reinforcement into the body and some major upgrades. These early Mustangs are very poorly built and require a lot of attention before bringing to a road track event. Especially Grattan. Grattan is brutal on cars. :sly:

I took YSSMAN for a ride in the Camaro at Grattan a few years ago. You gotta go for a ride for sure sometime. Especially since its free!! :)

Changed the intake/exhaust gasket on the Datsun. Of course now the steering box seems to be leaking oil. Oh the joys of owning a 30 year old car.

Washed and waxed my MR2. Washed the engine bay too.

Nice work on the MR2.

I installed a front lip spoiler (for looks, as I think it serves no other function) that I got for cheap. Didn't turn out that bad considering its my first time installing anything really cosmetic on the outside.

Bought a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner and oil breather cleaner for our 67 Fastback Mustang. Then started mocking up the Saleen S281 exhaust tips to get a rough idea of where I will be cutting the rear of the car. My friend is bringing over a trailer and we will be bringing the Mustang to his shop tomorrow. The plan is to run the entire Saleen S281 exhaust system this weekend using Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. I will still have to split the rear bumper and french in the license plate. Similar to the Murcielago exhaust setup on my 69 Camaro. :)

Well it wasn't my car but I worked on someones car and re-built the entire right brake drum and it's components of a Ford Contour Sport, seals went in the cylinder and made a mess everywhere, so we replaced all the parts as most of the springs were shot. Left side is up tomorrow, as that seal is going too.

I did it for the Lulz. It's working and all the ricer's I've come across aren't impressed haha!

No offense to all the non ricer's out there that drive Honda's but around here a lot of civic's are driven by the typical ricer highschooler who thinks they're the fastest things on the road with their shiny rims, K&N intake and Canadian Tire mufflers.....

Finished rebuilding the MR2's distributor last night and put it back in the car this morning. Runs perfectly now! I was rebuilding it because it was the source of an oil leak, and turns out it was also causing the rough idle. Win! Probably gained some power out of that, then.

Now I'm waiting for Nopi to get its 🤬 together and receive my braided stainless steel brake lines so I can replace those and the brake master cylinder...

Thats pretty freaky. I only just had my distributer rebuilt because of an oil leak and that too improved my low down responsiveness, and I have just fitted braided lines. Get outta town!

Took Paulie out and went for a cruise today through to Mt Tamborine with a small Celica club. Half of the cruise members were late, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like my kind of club - all pretty dodgy cars, ricer modifications, no effort taken to keep them tidy. My car simply didn't fit in, it was too clean, too well looked after. Not enough rice.

So I won't be doing that again with them. Was good to catch up with Paulie again though!

I still have the scratched and scraped front badge from my Del Sol's wreck. I happened to see it laying in the middle of the street so I picked it up. Never getting rid of it either.

^ Even I think that's funny. My brother's got one of the newer 5.7 GTOs, and it's hilarious how many Hondas try to race him. He's owned several Hondas previously, so he loves them, but still gets a kick out of stomping them into next week!

Since I last posted, I have:

- Bought a new transmission, thinking my VSS issue was with the internal gearing. Turns out I just had a bad ground. ...worthless online troubleshoot guides. Returned the tranny only to get gyped out of $90 of it. Fixed the ground. VTEC kicked in y0!

- Lowered the car with Tein S-Tech springs on stock shocks. Koni STR.Ts will come soon enough, but these are designed to work with stock struts so I'm not too worried about it when I can put the money into maintenance. Needs a front lip.

Just about perfect for my taste, if not a tad too high still. I want to space the wheels out to be more flush with the fenders, but I'm not so sure it's a wise investment when I plan to be 5-lug'd in less than two years.

Everything runs silky smooth, I just need to freshen up some of the front suspension joints a bit.

Ballast and Alignment.

Weight: 2770lbs
F/R Distribution: 51/49
L/R Distribution: 49/51

I was expecting something like 60/40 for the F/R, But it looks like the fiberglass and weight reduction worked wonders.

I bought a bottle of carb cleaner, and a new fuel filter, installed it, and then decided to check my distributorcap for corrosion, which I found. I cleaned it, and after that my Golf didn't drive so well. Bought a new distributorcap and rotor, installed them, and the car was still shaking like a madman. CRAP.

So I checked the rest of my engine, and found out that the mounting gasket of my carb is shredded. :banghead:

Man that stinks.👎

How much does one of those run?

I've raced an automatic 5.7 and I would have been embarrassed if I were him. 25-110+ and I stayed even with his door.

Don't even want to know how much a VW distributor costs when it would have been like $300 for my MR2's.

Oh no, it was only the distributor cap, and rotor. The actual distributor on a Golf 2 is virtually bulletproof.

Yeah, I'm just being uber-anal and talking small fractions of an inch lower. I'm not into that useless hellaflush nonsense. It looks alright sometimes, but no. Just, no.

But there's a difference between your Si with its K-series and.. well, unjustifiably loud, K&N-equipped rice-mobiles. I've raced a C5 Vette convertible (same LS1) from a dig and it wasn't all that big of a loss.

A Spoon header I bought off a guy in Vancouver should be here within the next few days. Needs restoration, but the price was right.

Drop-in K&N user myself.

Just got the Goodridge stainless steel brake lines on the MR2, which was amazingly easy. I expected the connectors to be all corroded and impossible to get off but instead it was probably the easiest mod I've done.

Also have the brake master cylinder removed, reservoir cleaned and swapped to the new unit, just needing to be bench bled and installed. I'll flush the system with some cheap DOT3 to make sure the old stuff (God knows how long it had been in there) is all flushed, and then finish off with ATE Superblue DOT4. Pretty excited about having awesome brakes. Hawk Pads and maybe slotted rotors next year.
