What have you done to your car today?

Well, considering it's the first nice day of the year and I was at work, I washed my Celica! Yay! First time it's been washed in at least a year, unfortunately it wasn't enough. Gonna have to scrub the crap out of some spots once it gets warmer. Still, looks a LOT better.

Also did a through vacuuming of the interior and trunk, took the Weathertech floor mats out and put the factory ones back in, and got some of that annoying greasy dash protector on the dash.

Unfortunately didn't have enough time to clean the vents and buttons with some wire brushes and q-tips, perhaps tomorrow. :)

Might want to take a look at Nu Finish car polish. Apparently you only have to apply it once or twice a year. I applied it in September and now 6 months later water still beads off. Perfect for lazy people who don't want to wash their car 3 times a week to keep it looking nice

Maybe I'm weird, but I actually enjoy washing my car. :P Waxing, not as much, but it's worth it in the end.

I made a new video about my mom's truck today. It's regarding the ticking noise it used to make and the new problem with the remote start. Also some revs in there if you're interested. It's still processing so if you're wanting to watch it you may have to wait a little bit (if you're looking at this post right after it's posted)

 The video URL tag (the thing at the end of the video's URL) is LOUDr0dFggw

That's what stance is.

It looks funny, like bad poke, with the way the body line dips back inward; if that silver car was lowered I'd probably agree. I do like F-bodies though. A friend has a WS6 convertible in white with these Corvette wheels. Beautiful thing.

Me, I finally did the oil change and rear Eibach sway bar swap I had been planning. Thanks to my car being from New Jersey, the corrosion was crazy, I had to cut the sway bar end link nuts off the car at both ends, and it was dark by the time I finished so I couldn't get to the drive belt. I'm loving the bar, too, it really tightened up the rear. The plan is to drive on it for a month to get used to the changes in balance before swapping on the matching front bar to feel that change separately.

^ It's too bad I didn't have a DLSR with me, that would have made for a cool desktop.

Next up: Magnaflow muffler swap. It's all I did to the Accord's original exhaust system, and for a four-banger it sounded pretty damn sweet.

Picked her up after the cam install and played with the 2 step....

I'll probably update my car thread with more info soon.

Today I swapped vehicles with my dad, and I drove his '96 Ford Ranger. Other than the interior features (electric locks, back seats, more speakers, etc.) it is inferior in every way to my truck.

-The brakes: You have to plant your foot for them to work, and then the wheels lock up about every other time.
-The automatic transmission: It's complete garbage; I'll be going 60 when I need to pass somebody, and when I put my foot down, the stupid thing drops two gears, revs very high for one second, and then immidiately goes up a gear. I'm glad my truck is a manual.
-The engine: It is only .2 liters smaller than my truck, and is also a V6, but has 50 less horsepower, so the truck is much slower. The "CHECK ENGINE" light is always on, and we can't figure out why.
-The steering: You can turn the wheel about 15 degrees in either direction, and the truck won't turn. It's turning circle is probably twice the diamter of my truck's.

I got the wheels on my 205 refurbished today! Went from being dull, pitted and generally a bit scruffy to lovely and shiny.

Left over $800 (including $380 in labour) at the mechanic's today to get my parents' car (2011 Hyundai Santa Fe) serviced.:ouch:

-Rear brakes completely re-done (discs + pads)
-Front brakes cleaned
-Air filter + engine filter replaced
-Synthetic oil change + full inspection

And they told me that the front brakes + brake fluid will need to be replaced in Autumn. Absolutely ridiculous considering the car's only done 40k miles, that's Korean quality and reliability for you.

Took off stock tailights.
Put on aftermarket tailights.

Changed the ugly steelies over to the summer rims. The car looks 100 percent better now.:D

Also gave the 230 the wash and oiling it deserved since the water hose thawed out today.

It's rare that I prefer aftermarket taillights, but in that 240's case, I do.

Got a used Mugen replica carbon hood with locking pins for the RSX, washed the car, and attacked the brake dust on the wheels with Simple Green. I'm going up to the reservoir for pics tomorrow, but right now I just want to double-check on something: I can polish the clear coated carbon hood with normal restoration compound, right? It's not in perfect shape, but for $300 off the price of new, I couldn't pass it up. The guy (had to be in his 50s, but owns a supercharged + nitroused '05 A-spec RSX... used to drag big blocks, supposedly he enjoys beating up on V8s nowadays) also has the rear hatchback new-in-box, so if it hasn't sold by next month I'm getting that as well. The planned exhaust is on hold, obviously!
