Nothing else... that will do it. ;)

You could get a USB caddy for the old HDD and continue to make use of it for storage.
Alright, I might dump my photos onto that for storage sake, although Flickr does give a generous amount of free space.

edit:
any recommendations on cloning software? I'm not sure if the Samsung SSD will ship with it..

I purchased and installed a new HDD (Seagate 4 TB). I was able to power all three of my drives with one cable! Had to flip the top left HDD to make it work.

The shiny new 2TB AV drive showed up today so I'm transferring all my movies onto it from the 1TB. All 500GB of them.

It's taking a while.

Then I can start ripping and converting all my other movies. :ill:

I tested an eBook I was working on using LibreOffice and a converter program called Alkinea. I was pleased how my test came out even though I'm still working on my first eBook. Only thing I have to do is set some guidelines for indenting and for styling headings. Also as part of my testing was actually using my Kindle eReader to see how everything looks on there also. Besides the eReader, I also used some Android apps for testing my test eBook, and the results were just as good.

New Hyper-X Impact RAM arrived this morning; I quite glad I switched the other RAM to under the keyboard so these were a doddle to install. 32gb RAM for all those super intensive programs. May pop a Ubuntu VM on here again so I can start programming my beaglebones again.

Reverted the sound DSP program to the old Creative Sound Blaster Cinema my old MSI laptop had. Had to trick the computer into letting me install the old Realtek 64 bit drivers and force Windows Update to ignore sound driver updates to keep it working; but this new Nahimic company MSI partnered with to do DSP now is junk in comparison.

Hmmm, did you guys find Oracle VM stuff to be better that VMWare? I have two Dell PE 2950s in my basement, and will be adding a r710 after the new year, and use VMWare. I run a fully licensed version of the Vsphere Hypervisor 5.5. We use this at work as well and so I have a lot of experience with it. I want to try something new with the R710. I was thinking of using the new Windows Server test software, but maybe virtualbox is worth looking at. I'm just hesitant, because Oracle.

Oh, right, and on topic, I just got the Yogscast humble bundle. Think I'll get into guildwars 2 for a bit.

I find VirtualBox to be not that great compared to VMWare to be honest, especially if you have a license for the enterprise grade stuff from VMWare.

Had to rebuild my PC due to it being dropped, the case was done in for and the motherboard was gone, the debug led wouldn't even light up. I think the psu is making some noises now too so I might have to replace that and now I get to reinstall Windows during finals week so that should be fun to do because I had to get a new motherboard due to no one selling the old on that I had. For the new case and motherboard it was about 230 and for the psu its going to be around 130 just for it.

Why, oh, why do I only have a lowly i5-3570k? This is going to take AGES! :ouch:

But it'll be worth it in the end. Right?

Could be worse. You could have an old AMD Phenom II X4...that can't even playback HD video consistently...

That being said, I should invest in new computer parts this holiday season. AMD makes space heaters nowadays and I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. Other kids 'round the block say Intel and NVidia are the devil, but not even Skype likes AMD out of its box.

Really? My AMD A10 ain't all that bad, and was quite cheap.

But when I build my PC, it's def going to have either the top line i5 or mid tier i7...

My 'space heater' FX-8350 sits at 36C at 100% load. Not really that hot if you ask me...

Mine floats around there too. Maybe a little higher. My R9 graphics card however. That sits around 60°cc when under full load. I need a better case I think.

That's something I should also look into doing @TB now that storage space is pretty cheap.

Couple of questions if you don't mind.

What software are you using for the process?
Is there any loss of quality in both audio and video especially on Blu-ray, a loss on either would stop me from going ahead.

So....I ordered two sticks of 4gb PC3-12800 RAM for my computer, I'm hoping it'll arrive today but due to this weather it's mostly unlikely.

It came with 1 stick 4gb PC3-12800 RAM, and I installed three 2gb PC3-10700 sticks of RAM from another computer for a total of 10gb or RAM. Surprisingly my computer ran with no problem for just over a year.

My question is, is it possible to just run 3 sticks of 4gb RAM? Or add a 2gb stick for 14gb of RAM?

Number of sticks shouldn't matter, but if you run different RAM sticks, they'll all just clock down to the one with the lowest clock speed IIRC.

Refitted a Toshiba with new casing. Was a mission to get it all out of the old mess and into the new. But a job well done and it feels just like new again.

Fitted the new (2)4gb RAM with one 4gb and one 2gb RAM, total 14gb. I now have 2 extra sticks of 2gb RAM, anyone wanna trade for one 4gb RAM?

Finishing up a build for a system that will sit at my parents house and remotely backup my NAS nightly over the intertubes. I've been meaning to do this for a while now. I might be giving the whole setup to my brother at some point so that he can take it with him to North Carolina so that my backup is more geographically separated.

I had a big loss of personal data a while back and ever since then I'm ultra paranoid about it happening again.

So right now I have a NAS with 2 disks in RAID 0 with a direct attached USB backup(hourly), and I'll be adding an additional backup over the internet which will backup daily.

After wrecking the partitions on my Macbook trying to get a triple boot setup (OSX, Windows and Ubuntu), I just said screw it and wiped the drive for Ubuntu.

Just finished setting up my dual boot on my new rig (Win 10 & XP). Found most of my chipset drivers for XP and after fiddling with the driver I now got my 980 ti fully compatible with Win XP. Time to game like it's 2001 :D
