What is the worst TV show you have ever seen?

Not exactly worst but Lizard Lick Towing, Storage Hunters and all of those obviously fake US 'reality' shows that started appearing on our TV over the last few years are awful.

In my experience with care work, I have been exposed to many horrible reality TV shows, but trust me, none of them can compare to the horrors that I posted last page.

I'd also be inclined to nominate My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, but that gets by on the grounds of doing what it does as well as is possible (which still isn't great) and having an awesome fanbase which spreads a very positive message throughout the world. Oh, and the memes. They're the only image macros that usually get me to laugh.

The reason that I can't stand watching MLP or aforementioned Kyoani trash, however, is simple. They are boring. Terrible reality TV shows generally manage to be hilariously bad, or at the very least provide a disturbing insight into the worst parts of our society which one can discuss with others. Try watching Lucky Star and you'll probably be asleep within 5 minutes, making its greatest claim to redemption (other than the voice actor lightsabre fight that sometimes people dump on the end of youtube videos) being that it is a cure for insomnia, which isn't exactly desirable.

Why is it that more reality shows these days come with a rival series that's at least 5 times more stupid than the show it's directly up against?

Storage Wars has at least some interesting and vaguely entertaining moments, and benefits from having a more likeable cast and less obviously scripted moments. While the aforementioned Storage Hunters is filled with faces that you wish could become better acquainted with your fist. Plus the whiniest bunch of storage locker botherers this side of the History channel.

Another example is Pawn Stars. A lot of the customers with more rare and collectable items that enter their store are almost certainly corralled into coming on the show to make things more interesting, and much of the back-room chat is clearly being read off a sheet of paper. But then you get a series like Hardcore Pawn, which is so downright puerile and scripted (I've only seen one "customer" come in and actually pawn an item as opposed to being chucked out for antagonising the staff or other customers) that it actually becomes hilariously entertaining. I'm almost convinced that the people of Detroit have more sass than the rest of the US combined.

I don't know if there is a more 'real' towing show but Lizard Lick Towing is absolutely hilarious. Every single repo will result in some over the top, ridiculous scripted situation followed by the crazy, irate person they took it from coming to the office for some sort of showdown.

The funniest one I saw was them repoing a dirt bike, the guy rode off on it so the repo southerner got on a bike of his own, chased him down then baited him in so the other one could basically clothesline him off the moving bike and take it.

COME ON BAAAAAAWBY!!! LET'S GOOO!

I also saw one where they took a truck from the middle of a little oval race track and of course rather than waiting for the race to finish and then take it as a normal person would do, they staged it so he ran across the live track, took the truck, drove it on the track in the middle of the race for half a lap then drove off. As you do.

I know they say the scenarios are all set up for entertainment but who is writing this stuff?

My new worst show is the Commonwealth Games. The commercial networks waste millions buying the rights to them, then interrupt their regular broadcasting to show them and pretend that it is a major achievement when the Australians beat teams that largely present no challenge. Nobody cares about the Commonwealth Games, but it represents a chance for the commentators to convince themselves that they have a rapport with the public when they call all of the medal-winning events. This is the same network that did all of that with the Winter Olympics, and then were embarrassed when their promises of a dozen gold medals never came true. So naturally, their response to this was to waste everyone's time with the Commonwealth Games.

Amish Mafia.

I think that show is just bad in every way as you'd expect it to be from the title. The only reason why I've watched it at all was because I was drunk and the remote was too far away. It's horrible beyond belief.
"Amish Mafia" sounds like a humor or parody tv show to me.

Ricky Gervais was funny in GTA4, i did laugh on some of his jokes but in real life he's not funny at all.

This is an easy one; Thin Blue Line.

Despite the presence of Rowan Atkinson this had one of the most mawkish, awful scripts imaginable. Even the tinned laughter didn't sound convinced. It was really scrotally demanding to watch.

"Driving Wars"

It's a British show styled as a competitive game show, where teams of three drive remote-controlled vehicles (full-sized cars, not toys) through a series of obstacle courses. The premise doesn't sound that bad, but one host is over-exciteable and over-enthusiastic while the other tries to artificially inflate the drama and tension, the obstacle courses are extremely basic, the contestants are visibly bored, the on-screen graphics are about twenty years out of date, there's only about twenty minutes' worth of content which is then padded out to an hour in the editing suite (mostly by repeating things), and the show as a whole tries way too hard to be trendy.

Going to have to do better than that. Adventure Time is one of the best series on TV right now.

I can think of a dozen current cartoons (and many more old ones) worse than Adventure Time.
Agreed.

I can easily think of 3 cartoons that are way worse than Adventure Time.

Top Gear USA, no explaining needed...

And any thing from Disney or Nick that aired after 2008- They portray completely unrealistic scenarios, and it's the same thing over and over. Not to mention they portray every adult like a moron... Mmkay.

Is it bad that I found TGUSA a lot more entertaining than the last few seasons of TGUK?
The worst show I have ever seen? Two words: Adventure time. 'Nuff said.
Not "'Nuff said". Adventure Time is a superb TV show, by far the best cartoon on TV right now.

Then there's "Avatar"... while "The Legend of Korra" isn't quite as compelling as "The Legend of Aang", it's still fantastic television. I think they lost some of the charm by moving to teenagers rather than sticking with kids, but I think it's admirable the show's creators want it to grow up with the audience. 👍

Well of course they portray completely unrealistic scenarios... they're cartoons.

But if you're talking the live action shows... ugh... yeah... horrible stuff. Last one I actually liked was Big Time Rush. (shhhh... don't tell anyone...)

Yes, yes it is  Naw, that's your opinion, :)

Yes, the live action stuff like "Sam and Cat" Teenagers living alone, with a 12 y/o that just randomly shows up and is an underground black market seller (Cartel for kids Wut?!) "Shake It Up!" Where two teenage girls hit it big in Chicago and get paid to "dance" (It just looks like a seizure) on a live tv show. Television wat r u doin? Television, STAHP!

Television, STAHP!

Sam and Cat is particularly woeful... considering the source material, iCarly and Victorious, was infinitely better... and that's not saying much...

Can't wait for Ariana Grande to grow out of her Nick contract, so she can go on making music videos instead of staying on TV and talking in that infuriatingly irritating fake voice.

That show is one of the worst TV shows ever in Nickelodeon's history. It's a good thing I don't watch it!

Apparently there's only 2 episodes left already  It's almost over.

I turn to Nick to see some Full House, and I have to sit through the tail end of Sam and Cat. It's almost not even worth it :ill:

Star Wars Holiday special. Though it was just a single show it was Horrifically bad.

Remember when I said the worst was "The Devils Ride"? Well I'm wrong. The new worst show on tv is "Alaskan Bush People". It's so bad, it's funny. Just watch it.

Regarding TG USA, it definitely isn't a bad show at all. I like it a lot.

Honestly, all the hate for TG USA just shows the rationality of the average Top Gear UK viewer.
