What is your real drag car?

Just had a quick look..... Wicked!!!! A lot of guys down here are buying US cars to get that edge... It all stems down from the US

Turbos are cool I guess, but I've always been a fan of N/A engines. My favorite classes are NHRA's Stock, Super Stock and Pro Stock. To me, an all steel 2800 lb car with a N/A 283 SBC popping a wheelie and running mid 10's is more fascinating than a turbocharged chassis car running 6's. But that's me. ;)

This picture is from my phone got the doors clear free going to do some grafix of LIL NASTY with some fire use to do airbrushing back in the day figure might see if i can still do it lol will have picture this spring of the car with fresh motor ready to Smell race gas burning again with grafix 👍

Slash the one in picture is a stock block 302 the new block is a ford racing r302 block which i bored .130 over going from a 302 too a 364 AC i got 2 windows if u need air I got rid of all that crap computer gone also Got a 1967 stang i'll build a 347 again and put a 101mm turbo
Yeah a stock 302 can only hold up to about 500 horsepower. I've had them split real easy after that. A Ford Racing 302 can handle a LOT however. Is the FR block an SVO? Hard to believe that thing was bored out that much unless it was an SVO. Personally I would have gone with a 351 block (Ford Racing) since they can be punched out to a 454 if built right. Still, 302's are great for a weekend project. Nice car bud.

Cheers for all the kind words :)...... That picture was taken in "street" format with road tyres..... Here are a few more pictures. Please enjoy.

How dare porn be allowed on GTP!

As for me..I wish I could drag.. but one can only do so much with a '96 Toyota Avalon :(

How dare porn be allowed on GTP!

Too true, love a good classic Falcon 👍

Also unfortunately in the boat of the "I wish I could drag, but I have an econobox instead" people. I mean obviously my 105kW of SOHC VTEC will eat that XA anyday

You’re kidding… right? I appreciate this is a “members ride” thread, but it’s specifically about drag cars. Is it really necessary to move it out of the drag section?

It’s just my opinion, but I think you will find the majority of people using the thread would prefer it was in the drag section.

Dennisch
The drag section is for Gt5 drag racing. Not real life.

However GT5 Drag racers are sharing real world cars with other GT5 racers. ;)

I don't care if it got moved. Hopefully we get more cars posted. :)

It's the GT5 Drag Section.

Not GT5 related.

Moved.
So much for the opportunity to show PD that drag racing is something big among GT fans. 👎

But it's a drag section nonetheless. The only one on this forum.

I can't see why it would bother anyone if it was left in the GT5 drag racing section. All the people visiting that section are drag racing fans anyway.

Well, daan is the boss and I'm not one to talk I guess.

Ohh well..!!! On a side note what do people think of barry grant? They are closed yeah?

I personally had very good luck out of his carbs. I ran a holley dominator that was worked over and swiched to a Barry Grant carb and they were about the same tho.I now run Ron's injection that had a 1450 cfm throttle body on alcohol. The throttle response is incredible. And yes unfortunately Barry Grant filed chapter 7, they have no plans as of yet,he even lost his home if I remember correctly.

wow a sad end to it all hey... I have heard some good and bad about the product and my self have had a bg220hr let go. Mind you it was just a seal. Yeah i saw that set up on the pictures you posted.. Looks sweeet!

Check up on BG from tue past. I mean back in the early 90's. ;)

This don't surprise me.

FWIW: We had decent luck with his stuff.

It's not about preference, it's about where it should go. GT5 cars go in the GT5 sections. Real cars go in the automotive section.

That's what the GT5 drag section does.

Not me. I'm not the boss.

Yeah, but if they'd find out about this thread (which they won't do now), they might have gone; "Wow, I had no idea Gran Turismo was popular amongst drag racers. Maybe we should consider drag racing in the game after all."

Not a likely scenario perhaps, but possible.

Uggg take the moderation to PM and please while your here clean up the place. ;)

Read that with a smile and know I meant to be funny while being somewhat serious.

That LT1  One day I will rebuild my LT1 (1996 Impala).

Get some Alloy casted heads when you do. They make a lil more power then the cast irons in many Impala's. SS car I thinks had the alloy ones stock.

Lloyd Elliot if you want LT1 power.

Torch Red 2006 GT with following:
C&L Intake
4.10 Ford Racing Gears
Diablosport Predator U7140
Dyno tune (305rwhp/310rwtq on a Dynodynamics)
GT500 front strut brace
35% tint
AstraHammond Louvers

haven't had any money to throw at it recently so its mostly stock. Plan this summer to do upper and lower control arms, tubular k member, koni shocks, frpp springs, strano sway bars. May do longtubes with the k member and hopefully I'll get some runs in at the track.

So does anyone have any plans for there car over the winter months? I'm going from a 5.14 gear to a 5.67.

Gotta purchase upper inter cooler pipes. Build pipe from filter to turbo. Install new brakes and lines. Tune it.

Summer: just enjoy a running car finally. I def run it at the track. But first summer out will be spent on the street cruising. Maybe an AWD burnout here or there. :)

Did decide to lift my Jeep. 04 WJ Overland. Doing the 2" spring spacers and 265/65/17 Falken Rocky Mountains aka Wild Peaks. There 30.6x10.6 so should look good, help in any off road fun I decide to get involved with. Bigger truck is always good. :)

Bout all for real cars. Then I got a sim project going.

this is mine

2012 Black Edition GTR only mod is a midpipe and K&N filters..stock runflat tires

i do the 1/8th mile quite frequently, last month i got a personal best of 6.995@102.4 with a 1.603 60ft with a 800 DA

it will run about a 10.8-10.9@126 in the 1/4 with good track prep...

i only had a chance to take it to the 1/4 one time last july but the DA was 2464 and the track prep was terrible i think i ran a 11.21@125.5 spinning through first with a bad 1.74 60ft
