These are all features that COULD go very very wrong, and/or that haven't been confirmed

Customization/a la "[R] kits"
Tuning parts: Tyre compounds, wheel/tyre size, width and shape, aero kits etc
Livery editor
"P2P" trading (gifts/auctions)
Online/lobbies/private race options
Damage on non-race cars
Tyre physics
Lift/roll physics
Collision physics
Ground effect/aero physics
Penalties
Qualifying

...and many more, the lack of info is really starting to scare me.

Skid marks
Weather
Day / Night change
Damage

really don't care if i can't pick custom paint color,logos & rims...its not need for speed :)

I would like NFS-style customisation in GT4; just using real parts from the real world, or from the "official tuners" at least; like have Nismo bodykits etc for Nissan; and Alpina for BMW, etc... then I could have some fun with Photomode; my own car could be created, or I could make my own race-cars, tuners, pace-cars :D I would love to create my own skin in Photoshop and upload it to GT5, that would be awesome, but I don't see it happening. It would bring a whole new level to the photomode competition again too!

I want WRC races to allow contact, and not "stall the car" for 5 seconds. I would rather it be either 'legal' (at least an ability to turn it off) or it takes the time off at the end of the race.

I would like weather effects as well; not just a 'wet track' version. Something like the F1 game for rain, and debris on the field for an accident, etc.

It would suck if there was no Photomode though; not all of us have capture cards! Oh, and for Photomode, I hate the aerial radial blur they have going on there, it should follow the motion of the car, not spin in a circle from where the focal point is! Bad programming there guys!

I also would like the car list to not contain one-third Skyline population. I can see like four of them, but not 100 of them or something with the main difference being various skins for the same body. If you're going to do that, make it a skin-selector, not counted as different cars; because they're not, with exception to the JGTC and other race and tuner bodies. If the geometry is the same, change the skin, if not, then change the body. duh.

Aerodynamics should be much more realistic as well; especially for the "wheelie-trick" which wouldn't really happen in real life, as fun as it is in-game. For example, should there be the customisation mentioned at the top of my list be allowed, the aerodynamics should change accordingly for that vehicle for the miniscule changes in air flow through, under, over (etc) the bumper. It would be cool if they had a wind-tunnel function in the game too. Tune the aero without adding milage to the vehicle.

In GT5P there was no qualifying. It kinda feel for me that every race was a driving mission. You start last and you catch up the first. I assume that in GT4 there was qualifying so I think this will make it to GT5.

And PD don't put too much cars of the same model in the game. (Skylines, RX7 and the list goes on)

Hi! First post here!

Well, I would really hate if the physics didn't change enough from GT5:P to GT5, so that I won't get beaten by some random person who has mastered the strange art of drifting through all of Suzuka with a Ferrari F40!

It really beats the hell out of me, completely unrealistic...

Ill bet a number of people here are going to be disappointed no matter what lol. You have some high expectations.

And about the rim comment. Its not need for speed customization.. but rims (i.e. track rims) alter the look of the car possibly dramatically.. Be nice if they made a performance difference but thats being picky. Diameter and width/tire width could affect performance.

Liveries? Now thats more need for speed/forza-ish. If your ganna put actual race car type paint jobs with sponsors (as I did) then thats cool. As there probably won't be the "racing modification" of old. But all the other "stuff" people paint in forza is not what GT has been about. I think there are more important things they need to work on then directly trying to compete with Forza for the art crowd..

I also don't understand why people complain about the multiple skylines and stuff in the game. Its not like they are spending a month on each one. They make one model.. and then make minor, if any, adjustments to the body, then thats it. They can add a bunch of cars in the time it takes to make one. Its smart. The only thing people can complain about that legitimately is that they count them in their "800+" cars in the game. But even then.. Who cares?

I'd still like to be able to make a logo for my racing team and attach it to my car.

Nothin wrong with that.. Painting inappropriate stuff, batman, celebrities, etc are stupid IMO.. They have nothing to do with a driving/racing game. If your into artistry and stuff then use photoshop or 3DStudio Max or something and post pics on the net.

Just feels like people want to bog down a driving game and make it about painting cars (like forza's trailer).. Ask for a painting game if you want that..

Well, I'm not saying it should be the main focus, but I've seen some tastefully done liveries in Forza that do add to the depth of the game. You could make the same argument for GT's Photo Mode, since it has nothing to do with the racing...

Also, I'd like to be able to change the color of the cars after purchase.

Well yea thats true. But it as I've said to GT haters.. GT is like an artists interpretation of cars and driving.. Its about the feeling.. the beauty.. the passion of it.. all the the stuff that Kaz has expressed.. Where as Forza feels like a game made by people who like to play driving games. I easily see how Photomode fits into Kaz's "Vision". Painting cars probably is too but I just see some major things that should be done before that. All my opinion of course.

And yes I've wanted the option to repaint my cars in GT for awhile lol. Just a factory color selection after purchase. But whatever. Once you have money then you just buy everything.

Anyway.. should get back on topic..

That'd be good too, if it doesn't give you the customization as I (and others) mentioned, then you should be able to change the color at will - at cost.

Who cares what people put on their car? So what if I want a big Batman logo on my car. Does this really take away from YOUR gaming experience?

This is what is getting annoying with a lot of people, they fail to realize if they don't like something than just don't use it. I never used the photo mode in GT4, I also never complained about it being in the game either.

You don't like NASCAR, fine DON'T RACE IT!!!!
You don't like drfiting, fine DON't DRIFT!!!!
You don't like paint jobs DON'T PAINT THEM!!!!
You don't like damage TURN IT OFF!!!!

Apparently all simple things, yet people fail to grasp them.

This is also true. I have the same mentality. But for me it comes down to things like damage or a paint system which eat up development time and money when they could be spent on other things...

But this all comes down to the usual personal opinion. Obviously damage it more relevant to the genre.. I don't care if its there or not. My goal is not to crash lol. But something like a very detailed paint system being "key feature" for a game like this just bothers me. Its just one of the absurd things forza people complain about.

A livery editor.

I know it's been hinted at, but it's not been confirmed.

From seeing my mate design liveries for Forza2 and seeing the creativity and community that surrounds it, for me it's a must have in the game and IMO the game will only be half what is could have been if it's omitted.

yes a livery editor give the 70% of longevity in a racing game....

Totally Agree, I dont want Features Removed because of Haters that doesnt like that kind of stuff. Car Culture its more than racing, if you love cars you`ll love to mod it as your own personal taste and drive it the way you prefer it. As Simple as That:grumpy:

only some cars getting damage
no body kits no liveries
poor smoke graphics no skid marks
and alot of other stuff....

Photo Mode is a must, and they probably have the ability to up the rendering quality somewhat for photos to make something that's print quality at 11x14.

Video recording would be an outstanding plus, replays -> MP4. Just the marketing value of this alone, with the number of races you'd see posted on youtube would make the coding effort worthwhile.

Of course they'd have to fix the moronic instantaneous repositioning of cars when the network data arrives late, the sight of cars zigzagging comically all over the straight isn't exactly a great advertisement for the simulation realism.

My main concerns would probably be:
-Not being able to roll your car.
-Bad AI
-Bad tyre smoke/tyre physics as in GT5:P
-No Veyron and Koenigsegg
-No photo mode
;)

Well considering it's apparantley confirmed for FM3 I'd be very, very, very, very dissapointed if Le Mans isn't in the game.

I really miss the slow motion replay abilities of GT3, especially in the WRS and the speed monitor too that let's you know of any sudden drops in speed that would also indicate a dirty lap. Time and weather variations would be great and I hope I don't see any 24 hour races anymore

My greatest fear is that they won't allow the player to qualify

Especially considering that the field of cars is much larger, it is really unrealistic to be able to go from 16th position to 1st in a matter of only a few laps.
