I've been recommended to watch the Girl Next Door a few times. I should rent it.
I saw:
Man of the Year - Robbin Williams plays a comedian political commentator guy, who actually wins(or did he?) the presidential election. It didn't do anything real well, really. But the topic was really interesting, casting was also pretty good. You can't go wrong(much) with Christopher Walken on board, I alway say(not really). The film is 1:50 long, but it felt a little short, so it must've been entertaining. "B"
Unknown - Five men wakes up in the warehouse. They are trapped. None of them seems to remember how they got there, some are injured, one's tied up, one's handcuffed to a rail. Yes, one of those.
Everything is average, except maybe for the cast. Sadly, that means it's "above" average than most garbage movies out, these days. I'd give it a generous "B"
Reservoir Dogs - D A M N. It was way better than I remembered it. My coworker kept on doing the Michael Madsen(Mr. Blonde) impressions at work, I had to dust off my Reservoir Dogs DVD that I bought(but never watched), watch it.
Considering that this was Tarantino's first film as a director, plus the low budget, I must say that Reservoir Dogs is nearly perfect. If you have the one(s) with the extra features, watch it. Very interesting stories regarding how the film was made.
At this point, I rate Tarantino as one of the best directors there ever was. Right up there with all the big names, including Frankenheimer & Kurosawa. "A+"
Rocky Balboa - I had never seen any Rocky movies until this year. Now, I've seen all of them, except for the "V".
Not bad, but I'm not sure if I've enjoyed this movie without seeing the first, at least couple of Rocky movies. Most special, almost magical moment in the movie for me was the Rocky's speech to his son, outside the restaurant. Was it just me, or was that heartfelt? Too bad acting in it was horrid. "B-"
