I wonder if Rush Hour 3 was any good. I really liked the first two.

I saw:
Fracture - Murder/Court thriller/drama. Rottentomatoes.com showed high ratings from both the (professional)critics and the members of the site. Pretty crafty and above average acting, but I didn't think it was anything special. There were few unbelievable moments that absolutely everything had to go in Anthony Hopkins(the murderer) way to put together this murder, and you just can't buy it. Other than that, everything was just OK. "C+"

I started watching the "Reaping". Hilary Swank plays a professor investigating this strange event taking place in a small town, deep in south, and it is very similar to the Egyptian plagues from the Bible.

It got something like 7% approval from the critics on rottentomatoes.com, and that's scarier than the film itself. :D But from what I saw last night, it's actually pretty good. It must end pretty badly!
Personally speaking, I liked the 28 movies a lot better than the Romero-style flicks. There is a bit more realism to it I suppose, which honestly makes it that much scarier. But truthfully, the Romero movies are fun just because they are so overwhelming at times... Dawn of the Dead (remake) being an excellent example.

I was watching TRS on Wednesday and they were talking about Dead Alive, one of Pete Jackson's first movies. I saw that a few years back and I kept remembering how awesomely disgusting it was. It wasn't scary, but it was gross, but it was a funny gross.
I'm a fan of the director Boyle, so I loved the "28 Days Later". I was expecting more from the "Weeks Later", but it was still OK.

I think I've seen Dead Alive back in the days of VHS(!). I might have to check it out again.
**** film.
That's "four star", right? I thought it meant something else at first.

Die Hard 4.0 (uncut) - The extra swearing adds that extra Die Hard edge needed, but it cant help the 2nd half of the film being knowhere near as brilliant as the 1st half. The 1st action sequence is possibly one of the most intense action scenes ever! The 2nd one (the car/copter chase) is damn excellent too. Its just a little down hill after that. But overall really good. Plus with the uncut version we finally get to here him say his line Yipee Ki-yay mother (cant swear here, damn!).
8/10

Finished 24 Season 5 - Probably the 2nd best season after the 1st one. Some good twists/deaths in this one. The Edgar bit is truelly amazing.
9/10

Just watched The Shining tonight in honor of Halloween. I really like this movie - the cinematography is incredible. Just fantastically scary and thrilling.

Which version?

Jack Nicholson = FTW 👍
Steven Webber = FTL 👎

EDIT: You mention good cinematography, must be the original Kubrick with Nicholson..

Blades of Glory - 4/10 Well... uh... It was a train wreck as I predicted just a bit more than I thought. It bordered on irritating more than stupid funny. Nice to see that brown hair chick from The Office though. xD

My wife was out of town this weekend on a shopping trip and I use those weekends to watch the scary movies she wouldn't want to watch.

Stay Alive - (4/10)
Egads this was bad. I am now confused as to whether movies based on real video games or movies about haunted video games (think The Ring, but a video game) are worse. Just don't bother.

Saw - (6/10)
That's right. I haven't seen this until now. Interesting is the best I will give it. Nothing scary and the only thing that caught me off guard was who Jigsaw really was. I knew who he wasn't, but had no clue who he was. The only other thing that shocked me was the number of well-known actors in the film. I find it hard to believe that the careers of Carey Elwes, Monica Potter, and Danny Glover are so far down hill that they would all sign on to the same gore fest. It was interesting to see Michael Emerson before his career took off on Lost though.

After watching these two films it occurs to me that with the Writers Guild going on strike we probably won't really be missing anything.

Saw - (6/10)

I think Saw is one of the most overrated series in horror today. First one, I thought it was promising. While it was far from perfect, it had some promise. Saw II was complete garbage IMO, and I never bothered with them again.

I saw(no pun intended here...):
3:10 to Yuma - Very nice. I'm not the biggest Western fan, but this one not only have attractive cast(Russell Crowe, Christian Bale), but it's entertaining plot moves right along. I did not buy the ending at all, however. But the film was well made enough for me to let that slide. Maybe not worth the full $9(or whatever), but definitely recommended. "B-"

30 Days of Night - I've been wanting to see this one so bad, Sunday night, at 9:40 PM(so I thought), I take off to my local theater to check this one out. Turns out I forgot about the Daylight Saving Time, and I show up at 8:50 for the 9:50 show. :ouch: So I go to a video shop to kill some time, and five DVDs later(Silent Hill, Altered, Syriana, Wolf Creek, Night Watch)..... :sly:

I thought the film was bada$$. 👍 It's gotten mixed reviews. 51% 👍 49% 👎 at rottentomatoes.com. As a vampire horror flick based on some comic, this is as good as it gets. Yes, some of the details in the plot is shakey, I don't know why shotgun doesn't do much earlier in the film, but totally blows those vampires away later. If you can ignore those shortcomings, you should have a blast of time with this film.

Very, very well made. For me, as good as movies like this gets. "A"

I re-watched Saw aswell today.
I still think its brilliant. And I think you'll find these actors you list were in the film simply because they liked the film/script. The whole film was made for a million dollars! Thats an amazing acheivement. So i seriously doubt they were in it for the money.
The Saw's have all got steadily worse, with Saw IV easily being the worst (but still watchable).
Saw is still great tho, brilliant twist at the end. Yes its not scary, but i think alot of people would disagree with me & you. Baring in mind people fainted during Saw III, and many simply refuse to watch it.

Ive seen quite afew recently all courtesy of Emirates and being able to choose from like 30 new movies!

Next
Fracture
Oceans 13
Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mr Bean's Holiday
Spiderman 3
Premonition

and some others I think..

...but all on a poxy small plane screen :indiff:

Robin

Bee Movie

Well, my father had promised my sister that she'd see this certain film, and I; having nothing better to do, decided to come along with them.

The story itself was fairly boring, but it was certain portions of dialouge that really caught me by surprise.

Bee - I'd like you to meet my associate, Mr. Mosquitoe

Cow (Wants a lawsuit against the dairy industry)- He's a lawyer too?

Mosquitoe- Of course I am! I was already I blood sucking parasite, all I needed was a briefcase.

The older people (including me) lol'd so hard.

5/10, and thats for some of the back and forth.

Some of the guys were telling me that the series rebounded with the third one. I might check it out someday. :D I had no idea that they had released Part 4.

Lol, nice to see my review with its on thread was well noticed.
Nah, if you didnt like the 1st or 2nd much, you won't like the 3rd. Like i said before, they all get slowly worse:
Saw - 9/10
Saw II - 8/10
Saw III - 7/10
Saw IV - 6/10

Just saw Blades of Glory. I'm a sucker for one-liners and this had plenty of them  . The story was a bit scarce and events in the movie came along pretty fast (where was a montage of the 2 training and developing a friendship?), yet when you got over that it was typical funny.

Best part was Jenna Fischer in that saucy lingerie :dunce: . Amazing woman 👍

7/10

i watched dawn of the dead 2001 remake

and i watched a movie called "little kids". which is about a convicted pedophile and a crazy man in the neighborhood harasing him because a sex offender live in his neighborhood. its a really weird and original movie. i liked it alot. but the main character (the pedophile) now haunts my dreams. he was really greasy lookin'.

Night Watch - Very unique Russian gothic/action flick. SFX is better than almost any existing films IMO, and most unique. Second time I watched it, so the twisted plot was easier for me to keep up this time. "A "

Day Watch - Sequel to the Night Watch. It was stretched out too long, and I thought it had too much of melodrama in it. I thought I heard that this series was supposed to be a trilogy in the beginning, so if that was the case, they might have combined all the rest into this film. Again, too long, but it's still a special film. "B+"

"I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry" - As far as I am concerned, this might've had the best jokes out of all Adam Sandler's movies. I also love that dude from King of Queens(TV Show), so I should love this flick..... but it was big surprising "no". The gayness was too in-your-face for me. I wish it was little less "fabulous". "N/A"

It was interesting to see Michael Emerson before his career took off on Lost though.

I recently finished Season 3 of Lost and NEVER recognised Emerson as one of the guys from Saw. lol

As for me:

Resident Evil: Extinction - Not bad, logical progression of the series and totally leaves the door open for another sequel. Preferred the old tyrant class mutation (Nemesis) from the 2nd film, but this one stayed true to the games again. Just wish they kept in Sienna Guilloy as Jill Valentine!

Watching the two definitely shows his wide range of talent. I wouldn't have noticed had he not had the very early orderly scene from the hospital where he acted fairly normal.

Dial M for Murder (8/10)
This is Classic Hitchcock. I loved it from beginning to end. The idea of someone planning the perfect murder and then forgetting that human error, often his own, will be the downfall is great.

Kelly's Heroes: 10/10 I gotta give it a 10, its a great little film with some really great characters and actors. Oddball is pure brilliance, Crapgame has some great humour and Big Joe and Kelly set each other off very well.

Film: Santa Clause 3: The Get Out Clause
Is that the name they gave it in Europe? The American title is The Escape Clause, which makes sense, as that is the term we use in contracts describing what situations allow you to back out.

So, I guess Europeans don't have an Escape Clause in contracts? Just Get Out Clauses?

Do you have a link for that? I couldn't find it. It's not this one, is it?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OYC7A8/?tag=gtplanet-20

I'm itching to buy that.

Yeh its that one, i got the two DVD version with thirteen other tracks, the sound is stunning. well worth getting.
