The latest movie I saw was this Friday, when I rented out 28 Weeks Later on DVD, and I watched it in upscaled 720p.

We've watched Apocalypto on friday, really nice movie with very good action scenes. Later today we're going to watch "The Contract" and "Shopgirl".

Superbad - (7/10)
Typical teenage sexual humor comedy. It seems recycled at this point so what used to be funny to me no longer is, however a few moments really were funny. I have to admit, the character of Evan reminded me of myself in high school, a bumbling idiot around girls. I think this would have worked just fine as a rental.

Superman Returns - (6.5/10)

Too much like a vehicle for another franchise rather than a fully-rounded film in itself. The guy who plays Superman/Kent was ok if a little characterless, but Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane was badly casted - i thought Lois was ment to be some fiesty and sparky New Yorker not some flakey Californian surfer chick? Kevin Spacey did a passable impression of Gene Hackman i suppose. The story line was good but for such a long film there was little in the way of characterization.

Ditto.

I watched it a while ago, but never commented. Didn't much care for it.

I still love the original.

The Hulk - 8/10 Once again low expectations are good. This movie was WAYYYYY better than I expected. Jennifer Connelly is flipping hawt as always and I like how Nick Nolte's mug shot followed him into this movie. Special effects were great.

Caught the Punisher on Satellite today and even though I've seen it before it was even better this time.

Alien Resurrection - 7.5/10.
Big Momma's House 2 - 6/10.
Cheaper By The Dozen 2 - 6/10.
Ice Age The Meltdown - 7.5/10.
Exorcist:The Beginning - 7/10.

I saw 3:10 to Yuma today, it's the first file starring Russel Crowe I've seen that I didn't like. It was just totally stupid, the plot flaws we're huge, the common sense was blatantly missing in places purely to accomodate the script. I must admit that Bale and Crowe both were flawless in the acting of thier parts, but the film was just rubbish.

I got a list:

Resident Evil: Extinction - I thought this movie was going to be so bad. I really liked the first, didn't care for the second, thought the third was going to be a train wreck. But I liked it. I actually wanna watch it again!

As long as you are OK with the dumb dialogues and OK acting(at best), the action, the zombies and the atmosphere should win you over. This film has borrowed from MadMax, Day of the Dead and countless other films. I really liked the results.

There was one thing. I didn't care that much for the ending. But it still wasn't that bad. Definitely biased "A-"

Vacancy - Waited long enough to see this one. Nothing new, "bad in a good way" acting, nothing new. But it doesn't screw up too bad for the kind of flick it is, and I'm a sucker for Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale, though their chemistry weren't really great. Again, biased "B-"

Blades of Glory - Typical "few laughs, here & there" type movie. I didn't really care for it, but should be OK for rental. "C+"

Wild Hogs - About what I expected. Stereotypical Hollywood feel good comedy flick. Again, I think it was OK for rental(a lot to do with Marisa Tomei being there), and I did like it little bit better than Blades of Glory, I think. It did have Marisa Tomei. "C++", if there's such thing.

I agree. Mediochre acting with a pretty cool setup for the 4th installment.

A- most definately. 👍

Dirty - I dont know if it did in America, but this went straight to DVD over here, and i have no clue why. ITs miles better than some of the cack that comes out in the cinemas. And the ending is really good powerful stuff. Its a bit slow in the middle, and all the swearing and stupid rap talk was a bit annoying, but otherwise it was pretty good.
7/10

Death Proof - 5/10 I don't think I've seen one Tarantino film I liked... and for that matter understood the hype. Anyways, Chicks were cool but, I have a tendency to say... "And you wonder why some of these kids are so (bleep) in the head. :dopey:

Oh and the destruction of some old classics... not cool. 👎

The Groomsmen - 6/10.
Perfect Creature - 6.5/10.
Zwartboek (Dutch movie) 7.5/10.
Lethal Weapon 4 - 7.5/10.
The Black Dahlia - 6.5/10.
Firewall - 7.5/10.

Planet Terror - 0/10 Seriously... Seriously? and you all paid money to see this? wow... I mean. lets not rip off Shaun of the Dead too much. Not like it hasn't been done before. xD Makes me wonder even more why Tarantino is so overhyped? I don't get it.

Hmm. Deathproof, I didn't care for either. Too much dialogue, which usually is a good thing in Tarantino films, but when I saw Deathproof in theater, I so wanted to walk out, as I was bored to tears. Only payoff in the film was with Kurt Russell in the end. Pure comedy, which was great, but it took forever to get there. :indiff: I'm a fan of Tarantino though, so I will give it couple more tries on DVD.

Planet Terror, now that one was pretty good. Total trash it was intended to be. I'm really looking forward to this one coming out on DVD. I'm a fan of Robert Rodriguez(director) as well.

I don't get that and I don't think I ever will...
Totally senseless, over the top everything, bad acting, plot that makes no sense, etc. They so can be entertaining, if they are done right.

I watched "war" with jet li and Jason statham last nite.

average.

Crappy plot with a seen before twist, and some mediocre action sequences. Nice gratuitous use of a spyker laviolette though.

I watched "Deathproof" today.

Howled my ass off.

Awesome dodginess as only tarantino is capable of.
Fantastic car chase scenes, tedious dialogue with hidden meanings that only hours of re-watching will unearth, and the best cellphone ringtone ive laughed at in ages.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of people will come out of the cinema and say it is the worst thing he ever did, but i thought it was a great way to spend an hour and a half laughing at the sickness of peoples minds.

:irked:👍

Transformers - Pretty good as an action hollywood flick but the fighting scenes weren't that good.

Knocked Up - I laughed my ass off watching this, some very good jokes and a nice believable story.

Sunshine - I was afraid that my expectation as a Boyle fan was going to be too great..... but not bad! I did like it quite a bit, as it reminded me of Event Horizon + 2001. I'm a fan of both. "B+"

Biggest Budget GM Commercial Ever! - Also called Transformers. What a trash. I'm not mad at the GM(calm down, Brad), I'm not mad at eBay. If it weren't for them, it would've been somebody else. Michael Bay have sold his soul to Satan, or maybe to corporates. This was just taking it too far.

I'm not a fan of product placement, etc., in films, but I usually don't mind it that much either. What the xxxx is wrong with Michael Bay? What the xxxx did he do with this movie? I wish what I saw was a joke, and the actual Transformers movies is coming out next summer. "C+" for the special effects, but it really deserves an F-.

Ocean's Twelve - OK, it(the plot) was much easier the second time. Very stylish, very fun film. Cast is nearly a homerun, and I loved that bit with Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis, towards the end. "A-"

The Quiet Earth - Another cool Sci-Fi. A scientist wake up one morning, and everybody's gone! The "Science" in this science fiction is pretty weak, but the premise is just too much fun. Good ending.

Speaking of real crappy movies...

The Wraith - 2/10 Yeah, 85... wow, glad those days are dead. xD I'll just name off the "strong" parts of the movie. Music was so bad it was good. Had some great looking chase/racing scenes. Dont ask how I found this one...

Blades of Glory - B

It was funny in parts if not a solid comedy. Think anchorman or dodge ball but with fewer jokes that really work. There were some real laugh-out-loud moments. But the characters got tiresome by the end. The movie seemed to recognize this and shift the focus to others as it went, but the new characters weren't able to carry the load.

Probably only about 45min - 1hr of funny.
