This is soooooo far from kid safe. There is nudity, sex, violence, blood, nasty looking snake bites, and Samuel L Jackson using his favorite compound word.

A ha. I see. Thanks for that! By the sounds of this movie, it seemed like a silly scare flick.

+rep EDIT: Couldn't give you any. Need to spread some around.

Yeah, for the most part they play it like it is serious, but hit every cliche, and it is pretty obvious it is on purpose.

It's different than say Eight Legged Freaks and Slither, where they even act silly and manage to somehow make jokes while fearing for their lives. Those are basically comedies with monsters where as Snakes On A Plane is a "scary" movie with a big budget that is acting like a B-movie. So, nothing makes you laugh (you might even jump a time or two), but you find yourself saying, "wow, that was bad," but accept it because it was on purpose.

MR. & MRS. SMITH - 6.5/10
The Detonator - 5/10
King of New York - 7/10
Bigger than the sky - 6/10
Cake - 6.5/10
Predator - 6.5/10
Bandidas - 7.5/10
Hollow MAN 2 - 6.5/10
Hunter: back in force - 5/10
Love thy neighbor - 6/10

The Ex - Light comedy featuring Amanda Peet, Zach Braff, Jason Bateman, Charles Grodin(who looked much, much older than I remembered!). It was some kind of Blockbuster's exclusive rental DVD, and while it's very routine and predictable, they don't really make any major mistakes, and I thought they pulled it off with the star power from the cast. "C"

Disturbia - I don't know if I'm being picky, but I thought this film was overrated. Acting, I hated. Casting, while attractive, I didn't think had any chemistry in general. Plot was dumb and unbelievable.

I didn't like this film as much as other people did. "D+"

Matrix Revolutions - I still don't think this is nearly as good as the original, but I did like it a whole lot better this time around(probably 3rd, 4th time). Plot for me was little bit complicated, so more I watch, more I catch on, actually start comprehending the plot a little bit. :sly: I'd give it at least an "A", but it's still nowhere near my all time favorites. :D

Serge! No! :ill: Only flaw I found in the original Predator was the soundtrack. Damn near perfect film in my view. In fact, I am convinced that you were just drooling over couple of the most beautiful ladies(in the universe), who happened to be stars in "Bandidas". :P

I have watched WAR yesterday
Decent enough but I expect more fights from the trailer
Little bit confusing in the first half but it is understandable when it finishes
Love the Spyker V8 sound! 👍

Drooling,no butt if I have the choise between these two pretty ladies (I have a little preference for the right one on the picture;) or should I say little weakness) and those two guys or creature in the case of the second one,my choice will not be difficult to be made.:)

Yeah, Penelope Cruz is a cutie. Schwarzenegger's the man though. He's my hero!

I watched "The Cave" on DVD today. Second time I've seen it, I like this movie. It's another action flick with mediocre actors, but the caves are just amazing. 👍 I really liked the special effects and creatures in this, too. Documentary feature about the real divers behind the scene is a can't miss. I recommend this one. "B"

Snatch - 8/10 I finally watched it, after avoiding it for so long. It was better than I thought it would be. Can't stand Brad Pitt, but he wasn't in it often enough to irk me. A very good flick.

Swamp Thing - 6/10 Written and directed by Wes Craven. Loved it as a kid back in '82, but didn't care much for it, now. The boys thought it was boring and stupid. I guess it cannot compete with today's standard movie blockbuster. It's always fun to watch Adrienne Barbeau 'bouncing' around, though. :D

The Blob 5/10 I loved the '72 remake, which I admit was bad. I never seen the original '58 version, but DirecTV said this was that version. But, this was the late '80s remake with Kevin Dillon. Didn't care for it, though I love the whole 'Blob' persona, which is why it scored higher than I would have originally scored it. Oh, and 'cause it had Candy Clark in it, too.

All these movies were in HD, BTW. It's the only kind I watch.

Have you seen "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"? If you thought Snatch was OK, "Lock, Stock" is the film I'd consider the much better original.

Nope, not yet. But, it sounds like a good flick. 👍

Thanks for the heads-up.

I watched Alpha Dog and Sunshine on the weekend. I liked both but I don't think I'll ever bother watching them again. I thought Sunshine was going to be more Armageddon like, the second half of the movie was a total surprise, lol.

300 - (7.5/10)
Watched this on Blu-Ray. Using an SDTV I didn't expect a lot out of it visually. However, I did enjoy the cinematic effects of the fight scenes. The story was fun, but seemed torn between history and myth. At some points certain characters seemed to just be typical deformities (hunchback), while others seemed to be true monsters (immortals). The story of teh SPartans and King Leonidas was what really shined here, although it seemed as if it would occasionally focus back too much on the political goings on back home, slowing the movie. All said it was good and fun, but I wouldn't throw up any awards for it.

SLC Punk. 9/10 Truly a great movie. I'd reccomend it to anyone. 👍
Agreed. This is quite possibly the only good acting I have ever seen Matthew Lillard (is that right?) do. But then he was basically playing himself.

"I didn't sell out, son. I bought in."

Story? You found a story?

Story? You found a story?
You mean the one about King Leonidas defying religious based law in order to defend the freedom of his people? I'm surprised you didn't pull that one out of there.

Really, it had as much story as Braveheart did, even though it was 80% just battle scenes. Most of the story was told at the beginning and then the rest was just a show of how hardcore the Spartans were.

Saw Transformers yesterday and it awsome. Really good story and the action scenes were fantastic. Recommend:tup:

10/10

Uh... Can't sleep + Late night TV = Weird Movies on Cable? :dopey:

I didn't catch the whole movie on these but enough to get the gist. 💡

National Lampoon's Adam & Eve 7/10 Again... uh I'm a sucker for brunettes.

National Lampoon's Barely Legal 6.5/10 Suspiciously like The Girl Next Door...

Dirty Deeds 7/10 It had Lacey Chabert in it that's all I remember... xD

Oh that. Well.... it doesn't make sense does it? A King bound by religious law? The King IS divine. Defending freedom? In a monarchy?

Blasphemer!

All of the story was to show how hardcore the Spartans were. It was a big excuse for one giant fight scene.

You forget this was ancient Greece where there were many Gods that demanded the people, even kings, bow to their will. Their opposition to Xerxes was to oppose a king claiming himself to be God.

I fail to see the problem here. Not once did I think there would be a great story. I went in thinking, "This should have some great fight scenes."

Well, I just got back from Shoot 'em Up, and I'm not sure what to think. First things first, its really hard to talk about the movie without other people seeing it, really because its all just so outrageous... The entire thing is just like one gigantic action sequences with just a few moments left for you to catch your breath...

The film critic in me wants to give this movie a really bad score. The acting really isn't that great outside of the two main characters, the story is kinda hard to follow, and the special effects really didn't seem all to developed.

But, none of that matters when the movie kicks this much ass. I haven't had this much fun in a movie since Transformers, which makes it all feel like a movie just made for guys to laugh at. Its a good one to go see at least once, you owe it to yourself, its just a crazy ride that really doesn't end.

Shoot 'em Up: 7/10
It wasn't the best movie, but damn it kicks ass!

Clive Owen, Monica Bellucci, Paul Giamatti. It doesn't matter if it's a bad movie. It's a automatic "must see". :D

Hollow Man 2 - 6.5/10.
Facing The Enemy - 5/10.
Die Hard - 7.5/10.
The Omen (2006) - 7.5/10.
Running Scared - 6.5/10.
The Fast And The Furious:Tokyo Drift - 5/10.
Windkracht 10:Koksijde Rescue (Belgian film) - 7.5/10. I had one month training in Koksijde when I was in the Belgian army(Belgian Airforce '88-'89) for my military service.

I watched Kiingdom of Heaven the other night, fairl dencent but I don't think it will be that re-watchable.

I'm looking forwards to watching 3-10 to Yuma next weekend at the cinemas. I can't recall a film staring Russel Crowe that I didn't like, I think Bale is a great actor as well.

Then later in the year theres a Ridley Scott treat also starring Crowe, this time alongside Denziel Washington, in American Gangster. Another one I'm looking forwards to a lot.
