Still running an iPhone 3GS personally, but at work, they recently gave me a Samsung Flight II, so I'm now carrying two phones. I've only had the Samsung for a few days, and so far, I hate it.

If I get buy another phone, it's not going to be one with buttons on the front. Seems I've been pocket dialing a lot of people without noticing.

had a samsung tocco lite for 2 and a half years now.. :P

Does anyone here have any experience with the Atrix? I'm thinking of getting one to replace my X10. Interested to hear your thoughts.

I have a Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S. I love the phone and don't see a reason to care for multicore cpus. This Smartphone does everything I need it to and fast. I do play games on it but the battery life makes it more of a novelty.

The Super AMOLED screen is just eye candy.

The atrix is a pretty good phone. Many people will tell you to get the SGS II or the HTC Sensation.

It all depends what you like but Motorola is picking up their act. Currently the bootloader on the Atrix has been unlocked this practically makes it future proof in the development community. The Atrix is also Dual-core with 1GB ram so yo should have no shortage of power and it's rumored that the UI will get a major overhaul soon when it reaches android version 2.3

A gimmicky feature that I like is the Finger-print scanner on it so you don't need a password to unlock.

Starting Monday: Just signed up with T-mobile for 2 years and got this for free:

I'm not sure about that. The engineers they have are great but management and dept. bosses are holding them back and trying to play safe for the most part with cheaper, simpler phones.
The new atrix I've seen is quite a looker, though.

dhandes
Have a HTC Desire. Great phone, awful battery life!

I have an iPhone 4, depending on how I use it it lasts just about a day, sometimes it's just under 50% other times, it's below 10%. I think all modern phones have crap battery life compared to the old-school Nokias(at the time I only went for Nokias but I'm sure all the other brands had huuggee battery life too), they used to last days without charge!

That actually isnt the new Atrix, thats some other phone fancying around as an Atrix.

Its worth it, I have an Atrix 4G right now and its amazing, especially with the GB update.
1 GB of RAM goes far in a phone I mjust tell you.
But if you get an Atrix, unlock the bootloader, and install the 2.3.4 ROM, instead of the actual update. The reason I say this is because the update locked the bootloaders again. There is a way to Unlock them but it is a little tricky

Kind of a thread bump, but as of yesterday, I now own a HTC Sensation! Just have to wait for it to be delivered...

Still using an iPhone 4. I got told that there might not be an iPhone 5 but it might come out as a form of update for the 4.
Can anyone confirm this or know when the iPhone 5 comes out? (this information is from my friends  )

I've been looking for a phone now, but it's either a touch phone or cheap crappy plasticy one. What happened to the old candy bar phones :(

Got an XPERIA Mini Pro
Got it 6 days before anyone else in the UK =P
Ah, the joys of being in the tech fields...

aadil: as it sounds there will be a 4GS and either a iphone5 or a budget iphone.
I suspect the 4GS gonna be the "bargain" by apple standards and an iphone 5

If you look at the launch between Iphone an announcement is imminent.

But don't take my word, I don't like apple, this is just through tech reading.

I got an Samsung Galaxy S2 last week.

Love it, except that it has the power of vintage supercomputers and still doesn't manage to wake me up at morning :S

Now I am on deciding if i root it or not (not now)

I was considering the galaxy S2, but Sense 3.0 on the sensation won me over. :D Just waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow.

The Samsung S5620 Monte on Tesco Mobile pay as you go:

Had it for a little over a year now. It has everything I need. 3.5G GPRS enabled (No 4G in the UK yet), but for some reason it just feels so slow when using the internet, compared to friends with higher end phones. There is a lack of downloadable apps and games and the camera is very poor (From pressing the button, there is a 2 second delay whilst you have to keep it still as it takes the image, presumably a caveman in the lens is carving it into your screen). Move it before it finishes taking and you get a horribly blurred image. No flash either, so it can't be used as a torch. This means apart from phoning/texting, this thing does not leave my pocket, which meant it was a waste of money as I could have got £10 handsets which do the same job.

I'll be looking to upgrade to a higher end handset in the near future, perhaps around christmas, on contract instead of pay as you go, just to have full functionality. Whilst this phone has a lot of features and looks good on paper, overall it is pretty mediocre and I would advise against buying it. At this price range, you should be looking at phones without a touch screen as they boast better battery life and will be a lot more responsive.

Are some higher end phones sold in the UK 4G enabled, or should I wait until the network goes live before I get a new one?

Original Droid - works ok except the headphone jack, but I've got bluetooth for that. Like all mobile technology, it's not two years old yet, and my girls Motorola Atrix is like alien technology compared to this. The Droid isn't exactly slow; it's just in comparison you realize what fast is.

For my work I've got a Blackberry Curve, which other than email and awesome battery life, is a horrid, horrid phone.

*ibo* S3 Racer

Thanks, I'm going to have to do some reading up on this too, just wondering if anyone from here was from that sector and could point me in the right direction.
