C55's on the other hand aren't, that and C55's weren't being made unitl 2004. I just don't see it feasible to nab a W203 AMG consistanty in good shape with reasonably low mileage for $15k USD or less. You can probably find a few--but not on a wide scale. Now, W202 models are pretty cheap. But, finding a low mileage "cherry" is difficult. But not impossible.

2003 Acura RSX

Only got about 55,000 miles. It's real nice.

I was 19 and my first car was a SEAT Ibiza 1.4.

Now I'm 25 and I drive a Ford Focus 1.6 and a VW Bora V5. I've had the Focus for less than 2 months, before that I had a Pugeot 306 1.9 TDi. The Bora is in the process of being sold though, costs more to run than I want to spend.

I was 15, it was a 1981 Holden Commodore L (VC)

Now I own a Nissan and a Holden Monaro GTS.

I was 17 when I bought a 1.1 Ford Fiesta 'Holiday' (D reg, so 9 years old when I bought it, 32k on the clock!!)

I'm now 29 and I own a Mazda MX-5 Berkeley (1.8) which is an 'R' reg so almost 10 years old. Can you see a pattern?

1) How old were you when you got your first car?
22.
Drove Mum's cars (Austin Metro, Nissan Micra & Ford Fiesta) from 17 - 22 while I was at University. Bought my first car, after dropping out of a Ph.D course 6 months after finishing my Masters, with a Graduate Loan secured against a very temporary job working nights in a Petrol Station at a Motorway Service station. It allowed me the flexibility to seek daytime employment on a permanent basis! (I was having to work nights so I could use Mum's Fiesta to get to and from work but still have it home in time for her to go to work in!)

2) What was your first car?
1988 Vauxhall Nova 1.2L Saloon. (4 door in silver) bought for 1700 GBP

3) How old are you now?
33.

4) What car do you drive now?
1995 Mazda Miata (NA), 1981 Porsche 911SC Targa, 2008 Chrysler Sebring Touring Sedan.

In between times, I had a Citroen AX GT which was a great little car, only 85HP, but light as a feather and 0 - 60 in a shade over 7s! Sold it when I moved to the US in 2000 and collected a brand new 2001 Chrysler Concorde as my company car. That was replaced in 2003 with a 2004 model Dodge Intrepid SE which has now been replaced by the new Chrysler. Bought the Miata nearly 5 years ago and love it to bits, and the Porsche was acquired in July this year.

The first car entrusted to my care was a 1985 Mazda 626, at age 15. I think it had about 85 hp, and it ran out of breath at about 2500 rpm. Good thing it was a 5-speed :). My parents sold it two years later, and I moved up to the next oldest car in the family fleet of Mazdas.

The first car that I bought with my own money is my current '07 Mazda 3. I doubt I'll ever sell it, because I love it so very much.

I was 18 when I bought a 1.1 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus (G-reg, so 7 years old when I bought it, 32k on the clock).

I'm now 30 and I own a Mazda MX-3 V6 (1.8) which is an R-reg, but which I bought in 2003 and was 7 years old when I bought it. Can you see a pattern? :D

First vehicle was at 16, i had aquired an 86 Chevy S10 with a 2.5 4cylinder and a 5-spd. it was gold, and it didnt last long. Something wrong with sensors and it wouldnt run half the time. Im 19 now, and ive got an 89 Chevy Cavalier (2.0L) with a 5-spd. its still runnin, but im not sure how much longer, it has over 220,xxx miles on it.

Just remember the GM motto:

GM cars will run horribly longer than most cars will run at all...

im 50 now, i passed my driving test in 1974 and my first car was a 67 Austin Mini Cooper 1275cc

my second car was a 86 ford sierra rs500 cosworth

my third car was a 96 911 turbo

and my latest addition is the new dbs aston martin in goodwood racing green

Considering that not a one of them have been delivered yet, we're going to want to see pictures of that for corroboration.

Indeed, a new member coming on claiming to have an Aston DBS is pretty dubious. Not that you're definitely lying focus rs, it's just that it's very easy to get away with lying on the interweb in general and as a result we like bold claims to be proven on here.

Heehee. Famine's right of course. Although I noticed he didn't rub it in by posting the photo of himself behind the wheel of one. He's such a nice guy.

You'll have to wait a while before they come out in any sort of green, though. There are only three launch colours, Casino Royale, Lightning Silver and Storm Black. There is a red show car, and also a couple of AMR Green cars hanging around. Some of the earlier prototype cars were made in the Vantage Roadster launch colour, a light met. blue (I forget the name) and also the fabulous Tempest Blue, a kind of azure-blue-green. I love that colour.

The one that Autocar had only looked green because after they crashed the first one, the second one that was handed to them was A) a different colour, and B) not the same type. Have another look at their review, and check out the Federal sidemarker lights. Now you see them... now you don't.

Any other questions?

Oooh, ooh. My first car, 1978 Vauxhall Chevette GLS 1.3. Lovely gearbox. There's a photo of me and it, but that was when my hairstyle was wanted for crimes against the state.

Second car, 1985 Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR in Jewish Racing Gold. (Okay, antique bronze.) It eventuall got bought by some rally nuts and can be seen on the inside cover of the Demon Tweeks magazine.

Third car, Lancia Fulvia 1,3S Coupe. Still got it, it's about to be rebuilt (well, sometime in 2008.)

Fourth car (bored yet?) Volkswagen Golf Rallye G60 SE. Ah, I miss that car. Mr G-Lader stage 1 supercharger, Supersprint exhaust. It used to 'beat' at 2,000rpm, and it sounded like a V8 TVR. It went like excrement off a greased catapult.

Fifth car *cough* 1985 Vauxhall Astra Estate. *cough* Well, it wasn't really mine.

Sixth car 1994 FTO GPX (still got it, the old battleaxe - "Gran Turismo every day.".)

Seventh car, 1962 Chevrolet Corvette. In bits. Lots of them.

Eight car. 1968 Mercury Cougar. In a garage, awaiting disc brake conversion and 17" rims. :)

Next car? Dunno. Maybe a C5 'Vette. Maybe an Audi S4 Avant/RS4. Maybe a new Camaro, when they drop. I'm tempted. I'm also bizarrely tempted to try to get 600hp out of an MG ZTT V8 with a blower, or turbos. So I can lug a fridge about at warp factor 8. :)

16 when I got the Shove-it. 17 when I drove it, of course. 33 now.

And just for fun:
Fastest cars driven: Vanquish S, Bentley Conti GT.
Quickest cars driven: My '68 Cougar, closely followed by the car on the left. *cough*

Giles... How is the A2? Is it really as bad as some say they are? Any better than a loaded Golf?

It's not a competitor to a Golf at all (are you confusing this:

1.med
A2 with this:

06.audi.a3.f34.500.jpg
A3?)

That said, we have the 1.4 petrol, and it's a really cool car. It's not fast, unless you really give it some stick, but it will go if you boot it (my daughter said "Mummy, the little black car is fast when Daddy drives it"). Since it doesn't weigh anything, it's really good in corners, and you can brake astonishingly late in it. It's only really a 5-door 2+2, but we have our two big ISOFIX child seats in the back, and space for them with two 6' adults in the front. Ours is the SE, so it has climate and Bose CD, both of them are very good. Boot space is usable (takes a folded child's buggy and some shopping).

Servicing is expensive though, at £230 for an annual check & change, which is more than our Espace.

So, if you can find a tidy 1.6FSi, it would be excellent as a small runabout for people.

What about the two-tone one? You know the one I mean. The one with the blood red streak going down the door?

Lying on the internet is great, innit? :dopey:
