I had T500RS, and TH8RS as well, if PS4 and GT sport supports it ,it would be a great news to me
Did you guys update the driver of it? I doubt if it's neccessary, when I don't play PC game with it

Just plug it in it works no problem been on pcars for months with t500 on ps4

As I known, it depends on game/software ,not PS4 , if GTS wouldnt supprt t500, it also wont work.
If the t500 doesnt work on gt sport i will cross my name off buying the game altogether when we know it works just fine on ps4.

What's the outlay on hardware to make the DFGT work

I'm contemplating purchasing a G29 also

If you have a PC nearby (or a RaspberryPI), you only need the adapter. I bought the parts needed for about €15 (about 22AUD I guess from online converter)
If you (or anybody) want one, I have one adapter unused (bought the parts on pairs if one failed...both are working fine).

Thanks @knd
my PC is in another room, I've kind of been looking for an excuse to get a G29
There's a few on sale at the moment, end of financial year stuff so an outlay now and then a PS4 and GTS around christmas doesn;t seem so bad when it's spread out

I've been looking around a bit and I think I'll go with the G29. My DFGT wheel has served me well for about six years now, so unless the competitors have a dramatic price drop I'll probably stay with Logitech.

For reference of those who don't read the hardware forums here...

  • There are PS4 licensed wheels, which can be used to control PS4 menus and run all race sims. These include the G29, T80 (bungee cord, not FFB), T150 and T300.
  • There are also wheels which have been supported in game on most or all PS4 racers so far, but don't work in the PS4 menus (you need a controller for that). These include Fanatec Porsche, CSR, CSW, and the Thrustmaster T100 and T500.
  • But note that while 3rd party racers like pCARS and DiRT Rally have supported Fanatec and Thrustmaster, Driveclub (1st party Sony) only supported the Thrustmaster T100/500 in addition to all of the fully licensed wheels. I.e. Not Fanatec.
  • Fanatec has teased PS4 compatibility pending, but we don't yet know whether this will be only via a CSWv2 rim (like Xbox One), via the future CSL wheelbase/rim, or generic across all Fanatec wheels (unlikely).
So basically given Driveclub experience there are doubts whether Fanatec wheels will support GT Sport. The G29/T150/T300 are guaranteed, and the T500 is a good bet.

P.S. I have a T500+TH8A setup waiting for GT Sport. My T300 on my PC rig could be swapped around in an emergency, though....However I will admit to being very tempted by the new TM wheel. We shall see :)

Its a shame my G27 wont work with PS4, I haven't played online in a while, I need to buy a playseat along with a new wheel!! Anyone know what Amazon trade ins are like for older wheels (mines 2 yr old in good shape). I need lower back comfort, I dont know if the revolution, evolution are going to be better than the cheap playseat challenge seat.... laying back like you can in the challenge is good for me as it opens up the angle and reclines me.

I'm thinking of a T150 with a good computer monitor with low grey to grey... I remember in the old days I could go just as fast with my DFGT as I could with the G27 on GT5. I'm hoping for an essentially free wheel so I can spend on playseat. Trading in a G27 for a T150 should be a break even, I dont know what prices are but I'd have to pay $150-200 with a T300 trade in. The G29 is pricier at times, depending on when you buy. I could always trade in for that too if the deal is good.

I use a Fanatec CSR with Clubsport pedals. I consider the CSR as good enough, as I don't really need stronger FFB. Obviously it would be nice to have the option for stronger or more detailed FFB, and it would be nice to have official PS4 support, but for that I'd have to buy either a T300 or T500, and those run at $500 and $700 Aussie dollars respectively, and the T300 comes with DFGT quality pedals.

The pedals, to me, are far more important than the wheel, and I'm just not willing to downgrade back to a pot brake or plastic pedals. With this in mind, I'd have to either get a T500, and buy an aftermarket load cell brake upgrade for it, which would cost me upwards of $1000, or buy a T300, and an adapter to use my CSPs with it, which would cost around $800, and I've read people having issues with those adapters at times, so it's not guaranteed to work all the time.

My best option really is to build a GimX and use the G25-G29 emulator capability of that, and use my CSR in PS3 mode, which itself emulates a G25. However this seems to be a bit of a pain to set up, and I'm not sure if it will work 100%.

So for me, if GTS turns out to be a definite must buy, then I'll build a GimX first and see if it works in Driveclub, and if it does, only then will I buy GTS. I'm not spending $800 - $1000 on a toy steering wheel just to play one game, and I'm not interested in playing sims with a controller anymore.

Really wish Sony didn't prevent first party devs from supporting non-official wheels, but it's not gonna break my balls if I'm limited to Pcars, AC, Dirt Rally, SLRE, and probably Pcars 2 in a year or so. I don't really need GTS.

Come on guys, driving force gt...!? This wheel is already over 10 years old. It's a shame to not support the Logitech wheel G27 but still the T500...
I know this peripherals are pretty expensive, so is the PS4.
Do yourself a favor and try a T300 or G29. They are way better than the driving force gt.

maybe you dont consider that people dont have 300-400€/$ to spend on a wheel after they invested the same amount for a PS4 and they still have a working DFGT...

It's one of the reasons i still have to buy a PS4...
seriously sony do you want me to throw away my G27 and my 23 PS3 games to invest 1000€ in one PS4 one wheel and 2/3 games?
i already have a PS2 near my PS3 to play my old gen fav games that i cannot put in PS3 and i dont feel the need to have 3 consoles in My living room...

So please pay some respect to people having to play on a budget cause maybe they have a family to run or a house to pay or simply not such a big budget...

Couldn't have put it better myself.

The DFGT works really well for its price. Its a great entry level wheel for people that dont want to spend much on one and its great value for the price.

If i lived in NA or EU, i'd go for a Fanatec CSW setup. Nothing too fancy though. I've tried it and it felt amazing. But in my country, i'd be able to put a small, 2nd hand, track day car together with that money.

Used to have a CSR, but sold it to pay for the PS4 and a G29 bundle, which is quite good - good FFB, nice leather, reliable, fully supported and great, great new pedals which really impressed me.

$$$ - CSW v2 base, CSW v3 pedals
$$ - T300 series wheel, T3PA pedals
$ - G29

Actually I was assuming that even in Brazil the T150 is the cheapest 'decent' PS4 wheel, so it's a valid option for those who find the G29 too expensive...

The T150 is the same price basically, slightly cheaper actually. The problem is availability. Independent imports only. Logitech stuff has official distribution here so...

But that's a good point. Never tried it (main reason i didn't mention it) but being belt driven, i'd say the T150 is definitely a great buy on that price range, anywhere... The big downside here would be the pedals - G29's are much better (so i've read/heard), so ups and downs on both models i guess.

Sucks both the G29 and the T300 sell H-pattern shifters separately. Can't I just hack my PS4 to make my G27 work? :P Given, I'll probably wait for a wheel till GT7. My big video game expense this year is gonna be that VR helmet.

The G27 shifter supposedly works with the G29. Just the buttons won't work.

I'm sorry for the people who don't have the extra money on side, but also pay respect for a hobby which is quit expensive.
But there is nothing to hope about to get the driving force gt running on the PS4 without any dongle I'd there is one! Just sell it an get a wheel which the PS4 supports, like a T 150.
That's just my 2 cent

There is an unofficial tool to make it work on the PS4 and its cheap and not very hard to implement, and it seems it works well.
I'll try everything possible to make it work before selling it.
Since it also works on PC I could sell it relatively easy but I dont feel like paying so much for a T300 or a G29

More than a year to late for me. Had also the G27 and was satisfied. But after the change to the T300 with the TM 28 Leather GT whe and the T3PA Pro Pedals... A whole new level of gaming experience. It was super expensive for sure, at the time I could easy afford it, now? I don't know if I would have the money for it...

The point is also, the bad community at Project cars on the PS4. Very unclean driving. So you can have the most expensive wheel on earth, you won't have a good time with it as log there are these jokers on the road
