What would YOU find dissapointing in GT5?

I hope you're not talking about Jazz and Lounge music because it's part of the soul of Gran Turismo.

It might be a part of the soul, but you can't deny it, after days and days of listening to that mambo-jambo in Prologue it starts to eat your brain. I still don't feel like turning the music of from the options.

I think the Jazz music is classy. Too many race games try to be extreme and edgy with rock music and such. (back on topic) The Veryon must be a premium. It is such an iconic car and deserves to be treated as such. I would imagine that it will be since it was not modeled until after GT4.

This I can relate to as it is more classy in my opinion as well and although it remains a question of taste it's probably also the "safest" option as opposed to a rather cliche heavy rocktrack that makes me immediately turn off the menu music in a lot of other games.
Having said this, it does eventually ( and rather sooner than later ) become repetitive and annoying and after the novelty wears off I turn it off.:)

Any menu music can become annoying if there are not enough tracks.:ouch: Plus, the Jazz menu music does not have to be localized for each territory since there are no vocals.

Eh, agreed, the menu music is what makes GT unique among the genre. I understand picking randomly from contemporary rock bands for menu music would appeal to a younger age group, but then it'll just feel like every other game out there.

On a semi-related note; hey PD, be nostalgic and give us the old menu music from GT1. Mazda's and Honda's themes, please!

I think the best solution to this "problem" might be to extend the custom soundtrack options to the menu music as well, just an endless playlist of handpicked songs or the same one on repeat.:)

I like the music, because I have it turned off in races anyway, but the menu music is nice and inoffensive.

*remembers the glory days of Feeder*

I'd like to see custom music used more commonly... and I normally hate elevator jazz, but it does feel right with GT somehow...

I suppose part of it is that it's not all strictly "elevator music" in the sense that you probably wouldn't play it in an elevator / lift. Some of it is quite up-tempo, and very technically, er, demonstrative - as a (primarily rock) bassist, some of it is quite inspirational.

Anyway, I usually turn it all off eventually; even in the menus.
+1 for custom music.

Well, if most of the GTPSP cars are gonna be the standard cars than I'd be dissapointed if some of my favourite cars like the DeLorean, Lotus Esprit and the Jaguar XJ220 won't have interiors. :(

What are you talking about? The new sedan "non-hatchback" is in the current GamesCom demo.

That is the greatest news I've heard about GT5. Thanks a lot. [: I care more about this than any Ferrari or Lamborghini.

I must have missed that video, I'm going to search for it.

It has to have custom playlists/own music. racing 24 hours round nurburgring while listen to the same songs or engine note would be a prelude to insanity.

I have to say that after I found out PD has been at Bandimere Speedway taking photos and stuff, I will be quite disappointed if we will not get drag racing.

:tdown:embarrassed:nline punters; at least until I am invited to race and join a private lobby; or set up my private lobby:)

Or my G25 doesn't set up well (e.g. button mapping)!

Track editor can make a straight with grid starts????

I did not think of that. Even if there is no drag racing mode, we can create our own online. However, we will need to use a headset in order to sync our starts.

The "Las Vegas Drag Strip" is already in GT4, isn't that enough? I can't imagine real drag events in GT5, and honestly I don't need anything like that, but I'm sure that there will be at least one drag-racing-track in the game.

Explain why.
Because a real life drag strip (such as Bandimere Speedway or Infineon Raceway) would be so much more detailed, and most importantly it would have a "christmas tree", plus I prefer real life stuff to fantasy stuff any day of the week.

EDIT: You don't care because you're probably not into drag racing, but I happen to be a hardcore drag racing fan, so I do.

It's not a real drag strip, it's not much more than a fancy scenery for the 0-400m test in GT4.
Now, if PD included the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip and proper drag racing dynamics/rules, that would be another story.

or with same headset method you can have a buddy spectate and start it off... now that i think about, a play by play anouncement wouldnt be too bad either...lol

I love the new GT-R and the fact that it has a RWD mode! Hopefully it could be put in GT5 through an update and PD could make a way to use it's RWD mode.

Last I heard that was still just an internet rumor. If it is true, I'm guessing it will be more like 15/85 power split like other AWD cars, except it won't have on demand distribution so it will stay 15/85 no mater what the conditions.

Here's some details:

"We've already spoken about cosmetic changes — including the new tires. But speaking of putting rubber to the road, there's also a very interesting feature now enabled in the DBA-R35 — the ability to temporarily put the GT-R in a rear-wheel-drive-only 2WD mode. All you have to do is hold the transmission switch downward on fuel save mode (where snow mode used to be) for four seconds. The GT-R will then go rear drive only. It will be interesting to see how this feature will be used and what's possible with it. Of note, Nissan is encouraging owners to drive with the car in its default, all wheel drive mode. Wanna bet Nissan ties the warranty to AWD-only mode?"

I'd be severely dissapointed if these arent premium cars...

or if backfires were missing(though I suspect these will be in, given that details like skidmarks have been added in progeressively)..

Yes, but backfire is often overdone. It's much more dynamic than you might think.
If it's in I hope it will be realistic this time.
