What would YOU find dissapointing in GT5?

I would hate it if the game didn't include road cars from 2005 to 2010. Mercedes has evolved it's saloon cars over that period, so I would like to see that.

That is one of my biggest fears. Not just MB but audi, BMW and others. It's not looking good though.

I'd be disappointed if the used car lineup didn't feature a new 0 mileage car every once in a while, I thought that was neato and collected every used car with 0 mileage though not nessecarily in the color I wanted.

Did the same thing, still do in GT4. Though I do settle for the 6.2 mile cars as well.

Odd prize cars for particular races, lack of mundane European cars, certain cars not being available depending on the region and the criteria for certain tests, prizes etc. being different depending on the region.

Well the my favortie sedan, the C63 AMG, is in the most recent trailer. That's one, otherwise agreed.

If there is no Pontiac Fiero. The Ford GT and Fiero are the only mid engine American cars. They are so unique and cool they deserve to be in the game. Plus I have one and I want to drive it in GT.

I would be disappointed if settings don't allow you to change ballast balance to left/right sides of the car. It's a feature in nearly all NASCAR games

If I can't run over the pit-crew like Yamamoto did

Somewhat off topic...but hasn't every Japanese driver from Sato to now run over someone wearing the same color overalls? I think you're on to something there...

Completely off topic; I read an article somewhere on how F1 can become interesting again; Ban the teams from using electricity & compressed air. Think about that for a while and it starts to seem brilliant.

Carry on.

If there isn't an equal ratio between Japanese and non-Japanese cars in the Used car Lots. Then i'll be dissapointed.

WHich previous GT game has made you think that it would be any other way?

My biggest gripe (albeit minor) is that so many great cars have come out during GT5 development, that they might not be in the game. I can live with DLC if they choose to go down that road, as I reckon releasing new cars and races would really extend the already lone life of the game. I'd hate to have to wait for GT6 for cars like (for example) the Renault Megane R.26R, imo a great car that will be noticeably staid and outdated by GT6.

I'll be disappointed if there is a steady stream of DLC. It's been over five years and I'm hoping we get something that's complete and not a series of monthly micro-transactions. Because. if I'm honest, I'd buy each and every one, and I don't want to explain that to the Mrs. after the purchase of the PS3, game, wheel, stand...

Also, if online play is hosted by a player like it was in GT5P. I know there will be lobbies so I'm hoping that's indicative of a fast server side environment for super, lag free racing.

The biggest hurdle PD has to overcome is engine sounds. My expectation is GT5 will sound better than Shift, Fartza, PGR, Motorstorm, and hopefully iRacing.

DMC Delorean

Edit:
Wait thats RR isn't it?

I could deal with this if it came as packages of premium cars, like when when we got the Evora, GTbyCitroen and the California all in the one pack (albeit for free). New tracks and events would be alright too. Basically, I could deal with it if dlc included new game features of different kinds, rather than just re skinned cars or something. Something like a set of classic cars for one (Fezza 250GTO, Lambo 350GT, Jag XKSS for example) or cool show modified cars like the AM Corvette or BuWicked from GT4. Maybe new tracks. It could also help make the development for GT6 more gradual too.

Basically, I don't have a problem with DLC if it is genuinely adding something to the game. Rockstar are good examples of this imo.

Will be disappointed if there isn't up to date selection of European road cars.

Particularly things like the Alfa Romeo Mito & Giulietta Cloverleaf and Fiat Abarth Punto / 500 - bang up to date, fun, good for the early races.

I'm hoping for an Alfa celebration to mark their centenary - and given that the second or third page of the "Apex" car table had only got to the Brera, there must be 12 or 24 "A" manufacture cars before it (Accura, Abarth, Alfa...?)

I'm hoping not to be disappointed by engine sounds. I felt let down in GT4 when I bought the 3.2 V6 Alfa GT Coupe and Fiat Coupe 2.0 20v Turbo - both have very distinctive engine notes in real life, but not in GT4. The old (non GM sourced) Alfa V6 is widely touted as one of the best sounding production road car engines.

Wow, we know there are probably close to 100 tracks and over 1000 cars, with NASCAR, WRC and other modes we don't even know of, yet you are concerned that what you get will not be "complete"? What do you want, his blood?!

They only thing they need to be careful of with DLC is not not milk it too much. That means not releasing wave after wave of "standard > premium" conversions. A few of those is fine, but leave that to GT6. They also don't want to go releasing every new car that launches, because that would further diminish the value in GT6. Tracks though...you can never have too many, and I'd love to see tracks and game modes/challenges being the focus of DLC rather than the cars.

Regarding the topic itself, the things I continue to be most disappointed with in GT game in general are the engine sounds and tyre screeching. They have improved the latter to a degree, but sometimes GT5 can sound a bit too weedy.

I am hoping we get streamlined car & tuning part purchase screens. I am so fed up with having to do numerous clicks to do anything, with half of them confirming stuff that I know I just asked for. Yes I know I bought that car 2 seconds ago. Yes I know I bought a turbo, of course I want to install it and I know I just installed it. Very poorly designed interface all the way through the GT series.

At the very least there should be the ability to create preset settings for buying my favourite parts, such as mild tuning (cpu, exhaust, stage1 weight, suspension or whatever) or best of everything

This is my biggest grumble too 👍

A set of tick boxes next to items and a 'checkout' at the end would suffice for me. Items bought should automatically be fitted as a matter of course too to eliminate all the pop-up messages confirming previous actions. The options to fit/unfit items bought should be available at the garage section.

A "shopping cart" system would be the best in my opinion.

Haha, it's been so long since I played a full GT game that I forgot about the terrible system for purchasing and installing parts. Definitely needs simplifying with some kind of shopping basket approach, along with the option to install (or not) individual items prior to checking out.

The old system wasn't so bad when you had little cash and only added one or two things at a time, but when you had loads of money and could pretty much max out a car, it took ages!

Perhaps an alternative/additional approach could be for them to sell kits, where parts are carefully matched to give you "low", "medium" and "high" performance upgrades in one go for example. Great for those who are not so bothered about picking and choosing individual components.

lol, i hated that so much! do you want to buy turbo stage kit 1? yes. do you want to install it? yes. are you sure? yes. haha, that would be funny if they added the are you sure part

I am with those who want improved engine sounds. Especially for cams. I want to hear my beautiful muscle car sitting at the line camming. Music to my ears.

i agree with you. i love muscle cars because of their big sounds. but i also wish the sounds of the car change when i install different parts (ie turbo, exhaust, intake)

I think I'd also be disappointed if there was a premium Kia Soul in the game.

Funny the multiple menu part installation is mentioned. That did take ages to deck out multiple cars when you had tonnes of cash.

+1 for a faster interface.
