What's your real life benchmark?

I had peugeot 207 that was tottaled and now i bought a Wolks Voyage... i really enjoyed the car and i hope it will be in GT5, but i really doubt it. =[

Im lucky enough to race a Westfield Sei in the nsw sprint series. So hoping there will be either a Caterham or a Westfiled in the new game, as long as it is a bit less floaty than the old one in gt4!

Hahahaha, do you really think that there's someone in this forum who knows what is a Volkswagen Voyage? bring a picture of the new model...

BTW, my picks are a 99hp Volkswagen Gol ( such a Lupo's cousin in South America, but smaller and cheaper..), a '92 120hp Volkswagen Voyage, we don't have nothing like autobahns or limitless highways, the max speed i've ever achieved was 160km/h (~ 100mph ), and the car was dangerously fast given the road conditions....

HAHAHAHA... True.
I don't know how to post pics, but. To be more specific, it is a Volkswagen Voyage model 2009 all in white. *-*
The peugeot in overall is better, more powerfull engine, and some caresses (is the right word ?) than the Voyage. But i always love sedan cars and the Voyage is the first one, and i'm really felt in love with it. \o\

If they have it, a Cobalt SS 170HP version would be perfect..
Or something like a 99 regal, lumina, grand prix, monte carlo, or impala
An 03 mustang gt would work, but they only have time for every japanese variant ever built, so I won't see that.

This is a voyage, as every car manufactured in Brazil, is cheap to maintain but costs 200% of an european equivalent car...which means ~ US$ 20.000..

Why my HTML tag is not working? Someone can explain to a newbie how to post an picture in the forum?
<img src="WHY THIS DON'T WORK??">

Caresses mean "carícias", and i'm sure that's not you were trying to say.....

BTW: Icaraí, BA, beach, sun, girls....oh man....i'm so bored of SP.......

I read this thread wrong.. Well.. a C5 Z06, and a G35 coupe just about does it for my speed/power. The Z06 was in car with a friend, going 155, which is the fastest I've been.

G'day guys! new member, been visiting for a while though.

for me up until about a month or two ago my benchmark was a Pug 306 GTi 6 - bloody fun, handled beautifully and threw it threw corners probably a bit faster than i should have... it taught me a lot (never learned the hard way though ;)) unfortunately it was ageing a bit, and i got rid of it before it cost me a fortune (had really low compression in one of the cylinders too, apparently, so not sure if i ever really saw its full potential).

Daily driver is now a 2003 toyota town-ace (van)....a bit of a step down, but it's got short gears that make up for it a bit... It's got about as much sound deadening as a mclaren F1, but unfortunately that's about all they've got in common :(

My G8 modified to right around 425 hp. Since most cars nowadays appear to be in this range of power (IS-F, M3, RS4, SRT8 anything, Camaro SS, among others) it should be relatively easy to get a handle on the performance of those.

currently own-

1968 Holden Monaro GTS 327 (HK)....thrashed to an inch of its life once a month maybe.
1988 Nissan Skyline GTS-X (HR 31).....thrashed daily until I got company car.
2003 Nissan Pulsar (N16) (wifes car).....thrashed daily (clutch still holds!) when I go to pick-up my daughter from the in-laws.

2009 Ford Falcon Wagon (BF).....best benchmark as its pushed to the limit every day with no conserns for mechanical sympathy or fear of bending it!!!!!

Previously owned-
1975 Mazda RX-3 Coupe......first car (13 B bridge port)
1988 Mazda 929 V6 (manual)......luxo barge
1982 Mazda 626.......$1000 junker with locked diff !!!!
1986 Holden Commodore VL.......rubbish car
1990 Nissan Skyline Silloette.......nice car

Driven-
BMW M5 (V10)
Porsche Caymen
Lots of XY GTs
Couple of HDT Commodores
a few HSV's including Walkie
plus most Japanese turbo cars

But the most notable car would be my cousins VY SS Commodore with 1000 HP.......6 speed manual, Turboed monster. It absolutly warps time!

My daily driver for three years now:
1997 Mazda Miata M-edition

I drive in an enthusiastic manner to say the least, and GT4 actually made me better (especially at finding apexes.) I've never taken it to the limit, tho, so I can't compare there. All-in-all, PD impressed me by making the Mx-5 feel so much more different than any other car, makes me want to go drive right now...

I OBJECT TO THAT STATEMENT GOOD SIR!

:dunce:
Objection sustained.....your Honor! I mean I like the look of VL's (calais, any HDT or HSV) but my one was a bog stock SL 5 speed that I bought as an in between car (that I shouldnt have bought)....and it just broke down all the time. Ended up selling it after 3 months of motoring hell (with some memorable wet weather drifting as the only high points) to some dude from QLD who wanted a reliable car to drive home from Sydney in......forgot to tell him about the blown alternator that happened the day before he bought it:guilty:

I used to enjoy my beloved M3 and 325i (both e36). Driven them on tracks several times until they were wrecked (and I was broke). None of these in GT5P although the M3 feels a lot similar to the Z4 on S1(spec II). The standard M3 in NFS Shift feels way too grippy and I felt nothing like it at all. Maybe it would if it is on semi-slick, but then never used them tyres yet.

Other cars driven on track enthuthiastically are standard Elise '96, slightly modded Evo 8, Celica GT '77 and Corona'77. My eldest brother (owner of the Elise '96/ Evo 8) and I agreed that GT5P simulates them very well (on S1 tyres spec II). I can't really compare the latter toyotas because none of them exists in any game. Probably has a little bit of that Datsun 240z feels in GT4.

Has a bit of go-karting competitions experiences as well. Of course it is silly to compare the game with reality, but minus the g-force to your body I would say the game is quite accurate once you get use to drive with a steering wheel in front of a monitor or TV. My pocket has gone shallower, so yes games or simulator like GT5P, LFS and I-racing have given me a good 'frugal' alternative hobby whenever I crave for the real life experience.

Currently drive VW Passat 1.8T and feels like the Daihatsu Copen in GT5P!! Haha..nothing special about this car lol&#8230; I'm hoping to get something decent that suite my appetite when the economy got better..:dopey:👍

Driving standard cars in the game definitely feel like the real thing. Most of the cars I've driven are represented realistically.
A GT5 Peugeot 106 Rallye in standard tune drives like the original. A group N suspension on a real Rallye is very similar to a hard setup on in GT on the same car.
Most of the rear wheel drive cars are also represented faithfully, but not all of them. The BMW 2002 Turbo handles like a pig in GT and in real life it can out-handle any modern day sport coupe. It's lighter and it has the same front and rear suspension like the Z3M Couple. In real life it handles like the Z3M with racing hard tires, just without the hp. And I should now, I have 3 2002, from standard to fully tuned 200hp NA race 02.
The older cars are also represented faithfully, the Jensen and the Jaguar E-type really roll in the corners and dive on hard breaking like all the coupes from that era. Haven't driven the Spitfire in GT to compare it with my brothers mk3. I'll do that soon and report.
I still can't decide what tires are the real equivalent. The comfort tires act like the worst budget tires you can buy and on some cars the sport soft compound are similar to a good Goodyear F1 Asymmetric.
