What's your real life benchmark?

I drove a 2011 BMW M3 with the DCT at BMW's NA facility in South Carolina (M mode with TC on). In GT5 a stock M3 with TC set at 1, is pretty close. The car is heavy but still corners hard. It is also very easy to upset mid corner because the throttle is SOOOOOO responsive. This aspect is a little lost in GT5. But I would say the general feel of the car is about 85% accurate. Heavy but very composed. In GT5 without TC the car is WAY too oversteery. The car actually has a bit of natural understeer bias in real life.

Cars I have driven hard.

BMW M3 E36
BMW M3 E46
Cadillac XLR-V, CTS-V, STS-V
350Z
S13, S14, S15 Silvia
WRX
Eclipse GSX
R32 Skyline
MR2 Turbo

'92 911, e36 m3, e36 325i, '93 miata - driven these at the track, including New Hampshire Motor Speedway (road course), Watkins Glen, New Jersey Motorsport Park, Mont Tremblant...going to Mosport for the first time next year...

I also ice race the 325i - more like autocross on a frozen lake, but still pretty fun.

I occasionally race go-karts - new league starting up in January.

I drive a Highly modified Evo 7, almost daily.. which is a pain having a screamer pipe on it, On the other days, I drive a nissan tiida..

So of course, I've got an Evo 7 on GT5, Not quite as loud as my real one though :P

My car is a 400+ bhp (1200kg) 2wd Sierra cosworth, the only car I have in my garage at the mo' that comes close, in terms of dynamics, is the 458 with weight reduction +3. all that's missing is the turbo 'surge' (similar to the v-tech issue below). Being able to adjust boost pressure with a detriment to engine life would be cool..or at least being able to see what boost tuned cars are running rather than just the boost gauge.

Fiancés car/daily driver is an EP9 Civic typeR..obviously got one in game and IMO doesn't feel much like the real thing. The real car is very responsive to your inputs with the steering feeling almost 'flighty' when driving after the cossie.

Another disappointment was the lack of v-tech on the Honda's. When you approach 6000rpm and the v-tech kicks there is a notable increase in power (which can cause loss of traction in wet/damp conditions, or on an unloaded wheel..i.e mid corner) and a definate change in engine note. With the amount of manufacturers using variable valve timing you'd have thought it may have been implemented.

I currently drive Audi A3, 1.8 TDI, S-Line. (160HP)

The A3 in the game is a quattro 3.2. I think it feels very realistic. Its not a super sports car, but has a good acceleration for a car of that type. They feel very similar, and that impressed me!

fiat punto speedgear 80hp , ford focus sw 115hp , toyota sprinter trueno 116hp , reanault megane 100hp , testarossa 390hp - the last one only drove once.

I had an '05 Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 JTS (166 bhp - sold it). I must say the 3.2 version in GT4 and GT5 is pretty accurate. It understeers a lot and is only composed in turns when driven slowly. But then again, it's an FF - these are all the same.

Im 26yrs old and have had the priviliage to drive my old mans cars, he changes them everyyear practically... cars i have driven over the years:

1994 3.0 Twin Turbo Toyota Supra (Skunk Racing Touring Car Replica)
1997 2.0 Twin Turbo Toyota MR2
2002 2.0 Mitsubishi Evo VII
1985 2.0 Porshe 911 Turbo
2008 2.0 Audi RS4
1954 3.8 Jaguar C-Type
1966 1.5 VW Beetle

My highlight was driving the C-Type to the highest pub in England and back... OMG what a drive! 500+bhp in a car that old was rediculas! Serious piece of kit!

...and a Ford Ka. :guilty: (A courtesy car while my Golf was in the shop)

Needless to say I have them all, except the Ka'ck in my GT garage.

Driven

Pug 306 2.0 HDI
Opel Astra 1.6 & 2.0TD
Mustang GT '04 6.0?
Caamaro z28 02 i think. the owner had a massive pair of Baloons so i dont remember much about the car.. cept the noise... it had straight pipes which sounded insane and made for a nice light show at night.
Scoobie WRX '05 A lot harder to drive in real life than in the game.... was on gravel though....
BMW 325i Best noise in the world ever? :)
Alfa romeo 156 1.8ts (daily driver) incidentally the 155 from GT 2 i think was my fav GT car of all time. the 2.0
I know the alfa is not a fast road car and i know what is considering i've driven 4 cars with over 300 bhp and have been in two with over 500 bhp (one of which was a gt40 replica with a turbocharged small block chevy engine. the other being a second z28 that was bored out and supercharged)
However it is easily doable to get wheel spin up to 60mph in the alpha ( if you horse it :) ) in the game however the cars that I would consider run of the mill or even sporty are so lame. I had a BMc Direct induction airkit on the Alfa romeo and it sounded so bad ass. Reeally gutteral at low revs and then almost a vtec roar over 6000 rpm. the standard cars in the game really sound so lame even when tuned in some instances.
Also i've driven a MIVEC Lancer '98 and that thing sounds like armageddon when your behind the wheel at 8000rpm none of the 1.6 engines in the game even come close lol.
And why does the game put its foot on the clutch when i pull the handbrake (especially considering there is no clutch button for me to use when i deem it appropriate see forza 3. ) and i have to stand on the brake pedal of the 156 to get it to lock any wheels .... seems like the brakes in the game ARE upgraded on all vehicles before we even get the game!

Well the only car I have owned that is in the game is the mini. Which doesn't handle as well in the game as it does in real life.

Other cars that I've driven that are in the game are Lotus Elise 111r, Aston Martin DB9, Lamborghini Gallardo - everything else I've driven are boring hatchbacks.

Well I am 29 years old, and I was lucky enough to drive some pretty sweet cars.

Owned:

1988 G-Class 250 GD
Golf IV TDI (chipped to 130 HP / 320 NM)
Golf IV GTI (5 Cylinder, Some modifications around 180 HP)
Mercedes A-Class 160 cdi (Company car, sucked badly, still chipped it, still sucked)
Golf IV R32 (GREAT car, awesome sound, some mods incl. camshafts, CAI and custom tune, around 290 hp. Awesome sound as well)
Nissan Quashqai 2.0 Dci (again chipped, nice winter car)

Next Years car: Black Nissan 370 Z

Driven: Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole (had a racing exhaust, incredible earth shattering sound, great looks (better than on fotos), very high forces needed to operate steering, brakes, etc)

This is actually me driving :) BTW the title is wrong, its not the anniversary edition but the 5000 quattrovalvole

Ferrari 550 Maranello (most beautifull Ferrari ever imo)
Ferrari 360 Spider
Ferrari 430 Spider

Mercedes C43 AMG
Mercedes C32 AMG
Mercedes E55 AMG
Mercedes SL55 AMG
Mercedes S 400 CDI

Me again :)

Mercedes S 500 (different modelyears)
Mercedes CLK 320 convertible

Porsche Cayman S

BMW E46 M3
BMW 323 ti

Tracks driven on:

Zaandvoort
Sachsenring
Hockenheimring
Nürburging
Nordschleife (lots and lots of times)

I generally use a car / track combination that I am very familiar with. In this case it would be for example the R32 on the Nordschleife. Unfortunately GT5 does not do very well with this particular car, way too much lift of oversteer.

Maybe it is the chassis that is a little damaged, I was too cheap to repair it yet.

The HGP Golf on the other hand is great! The F430 is pretty well done as well, the only aspect that lacks in most of the cars is the engine sound. It just lacks the real grunt and generall livelyness of the cars.
