Not just just Concept Cars.
Pre-Production cars (in auto shows or press releases), Test Cars (the ones that you see on camouflage), Special Edition Prototypes/Tuners (aka. Mugen, Mazdaspeed, TRD), Classic cars, Race cars, one of a kind cars, Military vehicles (Humvee and Willys), and crash test vehicles.

Just curious here, recently Ford auctioned almost all their concept cars like the Mustang Mach III and the Ford Indigo. I always wonder if they have a top secret wherehouse, or a factory compounded area, etc. :odd:
Like the Z Concept, RX-Evolv, Toyota TTE, Toyota 2000GT, Rinspeed E-Go Rocket, Mugen SS2200 Concept, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO. V Rallycar, Ferrari F2002 F1, #3 Chevy Monte Carlo, and the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish AWD.

Express @ your own risk. :)

I still can't get it, how do they keep all those cars in prestine condition, and keep all those cars in such a long time (Mercedes-Benz=100+ years) w/o even creating a public museum (all Japanesse cars)?

I think what Ford did was wrong, selling all those prototypes is such a waste of money. They should made a Ford museum dedicated only for the conceptcars of the past. Like now, Toyota is planning on that project but not on a concept car status, but on past production vehicles. Toyota right now is gathering some $$$$$$ and looking some "rare" cars that are eligable for museum showing, currently all of these cars are in a wherehouse in CA at the Toyota NA headquaters. I hope this museum will go through.

Currently in Japan Toyota has a museum dedicated to all of their cars, I don't know if it still on existance 'coz I saw this museum on TV back in the Phil. 6 years ago.

How 'bout thier classics, pre-productions, etc.?

Its not just Concept cars guys. :)

They'll be in a Private shiny showroom I reckon...

Did you want to know where they were so you could make them Vanish? Vanishing Boy? Man that's cheesey :cheese:

:Police:

most car company execs would probably bid for them or something, if nobody wanted them then they would probably auction them to the public or scrap em.

In America, pre-production cars are required BY LAW to be scrapped, and may never be titled. Period.

Frequently they are lent to magazines, aftermarket developers, etc. as project cars. They are also used as gopher cars at the originating factory - we had Durangos running around town at least 6 months before the retail deliveries began.

However, any use like this is only a temporary stay of execution. Eventually the pilot models are all scrapped.
