In the 4 prior installments of Gran Turismo there has yet to have been a single Australian track in the game, and GT 4 saw only 3 or 4 cars featured.

Australia is an accepted part of the racing world. We've had the Adelaide F1 grand prix, the current Albert Park F1 circuit, Indy Car and equivalent at Surfer's Paradise, the V8 Supecars in the Bathurst 1000 and Targa Tasmania as a world wide attended rally event.

Strong talk is coming from the Forza Motorsport developers that Australian cars will be there in force and have yet to deny or confirm Australian tracks in FM3, though it is hottly tipped to feature.

It's about time Australia and it's tracks were embraced by the GT development team. Bathurst is a standout track and has to be included, whilst Albert Park or Surfer's Paradise could be argued as deserving inclusion.

Australian cars such as EJ Holden, Holden Monaro, Ford GT, Torana's, Ford XR6 and XR8's, SS Commodore's, Ford Falcon are all classic cars and some of our ute's are as good as anywhere in the world. GT5 should easily feature 15-20 Australian makes and models.

The Bathurst mountain will test the GT drivers and if they include the endurance event even better!

I really wouldn't be shedding any tears if we get no Australian cars (I'm sure we will though). Bathurst and Albert park would be the only tracks I can see as being included. There's a significant jump in the number of tracks in this iteration by the looks of things (95 odd tracks even if that includes variations is still a lot more than any previous GT and even GT mobile which has the largest track library thus far of 35 tracks and 60 variations) so I wouldn't be suprised to at least see bathurst.

i'm not sweating on either aussie track or cars... yes i'd love them too be there, but probably wont see any in the full game, so dont wanna be let down.

I would love too see Bathurst and Surfers Paradise! ...V8 supercars will be a welcome addition. I still remember the glory days of the TOCA series. Now its all down the crapper (grid).

I did a YouTube video in the past on my ideas regarding Australia and New Zealand in GT5. Maybe we'll get newer details, so I wouldn't fear too much on this for right now.

and what about the ve range? the new walkinshaw model. the 7litre and the charged ls3.

xr6 turbo is defenently a must aswell..

if there is nothing of australia in there than i am outraged

gee

Just including Bathurst and a few Australian cars would make me extremely happy.

Mainly because of the Tasman Series, Bruce McLaren, and Formula one/two back in the 60’s. I’m pretty sure downforce was first tested and discovered for race cars in NZ, too.

Sorry for the vague answer… I’m not exactly a history buff.

Bathurst is an awesome track which should be in any game. Its a brutally technical track and even though it can be hard to over take cleanly, it really sorts the good drivers from the average ones. A good driver can easily be several seconds faster than the rest of the field.

Dean Evans is also a professional driver, where as most of the other drivers in that videos were Pay to Race drivers.

Good effort none the less.

Dean Evans would beg to differ about Bathurst being hard to overtake on.

Reminds me of a racing game when you set the AI difficulty too low :P I think that's a bit of an abonormallity, he's overtaking everywhere, on the outside, on the inside, under brakes, under throttle, even squeezing between two other cars. ;) Driving against people of equal skill and I find its hard to overtake on most games I've played on Bathurst.

Got damn he´s an awesome driver!

Bathurst is an outstanding track,I played it in DTM race driver 3 a many times and love it... I hope it will be in GT5

Very true. Near the top of the hill I thought there was a definite accident about to occur seeing Dean go to the right while the Yellow and Green elises were next to each other. Then thankfully the Yellow elise let off as there was no way they were getting through 3 wide.

Actually need to give some credit to the other drivers considering some of the moves Dean pulled they managed to avoid contact.

In reality GT has hardly scratched the surface of the whole world. 13(I think) real tracks (not counting variations) thus far in all the GT iterations is well.... nothing! There are so many tracks that would be amazing to have.

+1 👍

Is the license so expensive for an real track?

So they don´t have to pay for it when they name it different? like cote d azur?

I remember Forza 1 had a track called "Blue Mountains". It was obviously trying to be bathurst. Even though it wasn't the same track, you could see the track layout was similar to bathurst, the scenery was similar, and even though the name of the track is "Bathurst", in real life Bathurst is the name of a town which is at the foot of a mountain range known as the blue mountains.

I'm not sure how much it actually *costs* them to lisence a track though I'd be interested to know. Since if you look at a games like the Simbin series (GTR, GTR2, RACE07, STCC and GTR evo) they have quite a lot of real life tracks, and I can't imagine they have anywhere near the finance that PD or Turn10 has available to them. That said, Simbin had the lisence to the entire FIA GT series, which I'm guessing came with a lisence to all the tracks, but it'd be interesting to know exactly how it works.

Another one is the TOCA series, they had large amounts of real tracks. Including quite a few Australian tracks from the V8 supercar series.

Bathurst is just one of those tracks I love because its so unique. Phillip Island is great too, but at the end of the day, its just another track. Bathurst is a winding bitch of a road with evil camber changes, annoying hill crest corners and an extremely scary decent down the mountain, especially in a fast heavy car.

Yes i would like more V8 Supercars in GT5, more than one anyways! Also would like to see Phillip Island, in the game! Raced it in Moto GP4 and Toca 3.

I would definitely like to see more variety of cars and tracks in GT... mainly cars.

I mean, have you seen the number of Japanese manufacturers in the arcade mode selection screen in GT4? It's insane, and I haven't even completed the game yet (memory corruption, argh)

I completly agree. I would love to see Bathurst in GT5. With, at least, a couple of modern V8 Supercars (Ford & Holden).
Im not Australian but i think Bathurst is a legendary track that deserves to be in lots of racing games. Kinda like Nurburgring, wich nowadays is all over video racing games (wich is great).
I know a lot of Australian tracks thanks to Toca series and rFactor and i find them very good tracks. Unfortunatly is not expected to see them in GT5. Except Bathurst. If not in the release, at least in a future DLC.
