how bout none..... the engine sound in this game blows just like GT3 and all the rest.

if they did it right, the '69 Camaro, or the Chevelle SS would sound the best, but NOOOO, big V8s sound like weed whackers!

Not trying to flame or anything... But it seems that in every thead like this, there are always 3 or 4 people putting this car down.

Dunno how that one got in there? :dunce:

Honestly I use to love skylines, but their over hyped now-a-days. Seems everyone and their brother who's seen F&F and 2F2F are now die-hard skyline fans.

Great car, but 90% of their fan base no know nothing about it. Not saying thats you Max_DC, just the skylines fan base in general.

i didnt think that this car was in the fast and the furious

i know it was in the 2nd one, which was an awful film, but didnt see it in the 1st one

I'll second that motion. The sound in GT4, though improved over GT3, completely sucks!

Add in the C5-R, Saleen S7, Shelby Cobra & Mustang, Plymouth 'Cuda, Dodge Charger, Panoz GTR-1, Pontiac GTO, 1963 & 1969 Corvettes... You get where I'm going with this list. Go to a real race and walk through the paddock when the Saleen S7 comes rolling by you. Or go stand by Corvette's garage space in the morning when they fire up their 427 cubic inch beast. They sound exceptionally awesome! There is so much throaty roar and bass in an American V-8 that either P.D. couldn't capture or couldn't replicate accurately so they made the cars sound like they have a whiny little 4 or 6 cylinder. New cars with catalytic converters don't sound as throaty as an older or race prepped car, but the new ZO6 and Mustang Cobra R don't sound as they should either.

I bought the Courage C60 prototype with the Judd V-10 just because I needed a prototype and it had the Judd V-10. That Judd is a sweet sounding screamer. I also like the way a Volkswagen/Audi VR6 sounds. The R32 dropped the ball as far as sound is concerned in GT4.

I grade Polyphony Digital and Sony a big, fat, juicy F in their sound department.

I dare the game developers take audio clips from GT4 to the ALMS or Grand-Am Cup and tell the guys that "this" is what a C5-R or Judd V-10 sounds like. The teams would simply laugh in their face and fire the real car up. I have a feeling that the game developers would look at each other and pee themselves. Like in Crocodile Dundee, "That ain't a knife ... this is a knife." Get the sound right or sub-contract to a company who can.

None of 'em, the muscle cars aren't loud enough, the exhaust notes for all the cars aren't raspy enough when tuned, and there isn't enough bass.

My sleeper '73 Charger with a 318 sounds better than all these cars, and that's funny because it only has flowmasters to enhance its small block sound.

Theres alot of good car sounds in GT4 , but can someone tell me why the Audi R8, Toyota Minolta 89 and the genki silvia all sound like tuned skylines (RB26) despite the fact that both the audi and the toyota have V8 twin turbos and the genki silvia has an sr20 2litre turbo.
Because you've never been inside a LMP car IRL?

nicest sounding car in the game is the sound of the honda nsx-R completeley stock, between about 3,500 rpm to the cut out point the sound if fantastic and i think many people will agree with me

found another one - audi RS6 (i like the avant better)

in one magazine i read, they say that the develpers actually use microphones to record sound of cars, but to be honest, it sounds like they were not functioning properly, most cars sound totally s**t.

None of my cars even have sound besides a whistle in bumper cam. Looking out the rear view, or outside the car they sound different, but its damn hard to drive like that.

Ahh its gotta be either the 787B/SLR McLaren(stock)/Sauber. I also like the sound of the Zonda C12S when its stock. It sounded much better in GT3 the Zonda. The old Miata's sound when stock is alright too.

Hmmm..I don't recall any of the V8's in this game sounding like any of these cars....

Nice video of a dyno day. Nothing quite like a Whipplecharged Mustang eh? ;) đź‘Ť

I wish Kenne Bell was in the Tuner Village. Before he really got his hands wet in Mustangs he was tuning the Buick Grand Nationals. Likewise, Callaway tuned VW Rabbits (Golf I) before he started getting deep into General Motors.

FLIPPIN AMAZING SOUND, BEAT THAT SUCKERS
:D We could... if only Polyphony Digital had more accurately recorded the sounds of the cars. Most any V-8 over 302 cubic inches (hell, even the Shelby Mustang's 289) without a catalytic converter sounds absolutely beautiful. The new cars sound hot too when given a muffler upgrade: Corvette with Borla or Mustang with Flowmaster, for example.

It's not in the game, but you all should hear my dad's '63 Avanti. It's a factory Paxton supercharged 5L built in the days when they didn't care about gasoline. There is so much valve overlap that raw fuel just gets dumped down the exhaust piping. The exhaust came with glasspacks stock and decent sized tips. That car, at 7000 RPM sounds like a dragon clearing its throat.
