First off, i have a crap TV with mono sound, i know my taking my PS downstairs to the good TV sound is dramatically improved (bass especially) but overall i'm quite annoyed and disappointed with the noises of cars in GT4. I will never get bored of the Takata NSX though, gorgeous noise!

Think i'll make an effort to buy some of the recommendations..

ok my favourite car sound is the Woodone Supra and the R34 Skyline GTR (all models). You can notice the difference of the R34 GTR sound (especially in-cabin) it has a more *race car* sound than the other GTR's.
Also very happy with all the Mazda RX7 sounds. Love the idle noise. Sounds very much like a real rota baaaarp baaaaaarp baaaaaarp :)

I'm quite dissapointed with the sounds of the V8's. They don't have much depth and bass in them and if you install the racing muffler to - lets sayyyyyyyy a Corvette ZR1, it sounds like a little Mazda Miata 👎 Whats going on there!? The racing mufflers make the V8's sound like little lawnmower engines? Where's the beefy V8 grunt sound?!
Not very happy about that. Anyone else with the same experience? :indiff:

V8's don't sound like these!? Somebody please explain :grumpy: 👎 👎 Booooooooo to the GT4 V8 sound department
I was definitely disappointed also. I put a racing exhaust on a Z06 and it sounded like a Skyline...wth? Believe me I've heard Vettes with aftermarket exhausts and it sounds nothing like that.

Biggest disapointment of the entire game. I was stunned at how pitiful it was after hearing how PD was doing so much recording of actual engines.

First of all - nice signature Cobra :) 👍
Second - talk about recycling in game sounds huh!
I had the same experience too. I put a racing muffler on the Z06 and it sounded like an R33 Skyline GTR. Looks like someone didn't put much effort into the V8 sound recordings. Doesn't sound like those sounds were recorded from an actual car. Maybe the Skylines and all had been recorded but not the V8 racing mufflers. Probably got his little notetaker and recorded sound clips of Dukes Of Hazard from his tellie and up'd the tempo for the racing muffler 💡 :yuck:

Who knows

IMO - the old GT40 has the best sound.

You guys should really check out the demo of the GTR, though. Its sounds are breathtaking. Gearbox whine, MMMmmmmmmm.

Got damn that Panoz Esperante sounds hot I love the sound of that one.

Gt40 of course too.

Too bad the Mustang doesn't sound like it should. I still get excited everytime I hear that same car in NFS:U2.

I really like the sileighty with a sports muffler. It has a nice throaty sound to it in the low-mid revs.
The car i am probably most disappointed with is a viper.. Maybe it's just because i'm using the speakers built into the tv but it just doesn't sound like it has the 'muscle' :sly: that it does have.

omfg i love the amuse s200 gt1 its the shizznitz...you gotta hear it, it's right between not being much bass and not to much treble and has that great nfsu2 reving you gotta hear it to believe it. trust me you wont be disapointed.

And for you true enthusiasts, you have to hear what the 1.5 litre V16 that sits in the BRM V16 race car sounds like. Your hair will stand on end guaranteed.

amen to that. At least twice a year, I load up my small but cherished mp3 collection of the BRM V16. I absolutely love listening to the external fixed mic part - simply unreal. Favorite sound ever by far.

Is there any car that sounds remotely like this in GT4? <crossing fingers> :)

I just heard a clip of the BRM V16, cool tone, crazy. 💡 oh yeah, back on the topic, I like the GT-R Pace car bone stock (the only R34 I drove eversince the came out, I'm into the 32 and 33's). it is between that and the Gran Turismo Fourmula, I agreee it sounds like a F1 made 10 years before the game was made but it is cool downshifting fast and hearing it backfire every downshift (like the real one). mine is a Mercedes paintjob (Silver/Black) but i'm going to do the 24 Hours again to get a red one (FERARRI F1 FOREVER!)

What sound?? To me, the cars had nicer sound in GT3.
Now, they all sound alike 👎
Only a few have a little more punch, like the Skyline bla..bla..bla.. R34 👍
and Viper/GT40/Chapparallll, only if you use "rear view", then you can hear a little sound!! 👎 The HP32 in rear view, sounds gooooooood!! :indiff:

My fave for tone and accuracy is the '70 Charger. Hop it up fully but leave the exhaust stock and it sounds very much like a 440 Mopar big block, even at idle.
I can't stand driving it with the exhaust modded at all it just completely kills the character of the exhaust tone.

The JGTC Mobil 1 NSX sounds pretty good to. The exhaust tone has some teeth to it.

Im enjoying my camaro SS 350. FULLY LOADED. But im a bit dissapinted. I bought a BMW m5 and also made it fuly loaded. and it resmebles my camaro. Well as u can imagine my camaro sounds like a dragster. Some thing i wouldnt like my bmw to sound like. Maybe i shouldnt have given it 800hp?? ANy suggestions

DEFFO mate.... listen to the SLR and then the real life one. i seriously think there must be mistake. GT3 cars sounded much better... cars all sound whiney here. with a few exceptins, i thought polyphony might do a better job but im actually kinda disappointed

The McLaren has the distinct rumble at low revs like it counter part, but the engine on high revs is quite off. The needle at max rev for a gear is not as loud as it should be. The car is almost like it real life partner, but there are certain areas of the engine at high speeds that can be picked out.

well i didnt have time to read the entire list, and i havent played the entire lineup of cars... but i think my 800+hb Buik Special is pretty "special" sounding...
