DappaDaRealistTheres alot of good car sounds in GT4 , but can someone tell me why the Audi R8, Toyota Minolta 89 and the genki silvia all sound like tuned skylines (RB26) despite the fact that both the audi and the toyota have V8 twin turbos and the genki silvia has an sr20 2litre turbo.
They shouldn't sound like tuned skylines, but they are pretty dull engine notes in real life. If anything I think the sound for the R8 is a bit too raspy. It's very loud but very dull. And the same goes for the Toyota, even though it had a V8, it was actually a dull engine note. Also I think that the Toyota GT1 sounds a little too raspy (it also used a V8). Again it sounded like the Audi and was very plain and dull and not to exciting. I find some of the Le Mans prototypes are either too meaty or way not meaty enough. The only ones which come close are the Sauber (had a big raspy V8) and Mazda.
Has anyone heard the Jaguar XJ9R yet? I haven't heard it yet, and in theory it should sound virtually the same as the Lister as the Lister basically used virtually the same engine as the Jaguar. Which leeds me onto say I thought the Lister sounds great and accurate.
I was very very dissapointed with the McLaren F1 and the BMW LMR, they should of had shreiking V12 and both of them sounded like poo in a can being chucked around.
I haven't got very far in the game yet so I don't know what half the cars sound like. But all in all I think PD have done a phenominal job and it's definatly the best GT they've done yet. I'm finding the AI very competitive and some good racing going on.
One little thing, I think the Elise sounds pretty sexy and I was impressed they'd taken into consideration of the fact that the higher you rev the elise, when you reach certain revs it comes onto the power cam and you get more power like the car in real life. Nice little touch!
m0j0NL: The chaparals had V8's. Would of been a nice little touch if they made you drive them only as automatics, and you couldn't drive them as manual.
