Does anybody else have this issue:

When in 'bumper-cam' mode, the RR cars like the RUF and air-cooled VW's don't have any engine sound-- at all.

I can hear the wind, and if I go into a tunnel, I can hear the engine echoing off the walls, but no engine sound at all. It's like they forgot to include the sound file.

I'm an ACVW nut, so this bothers me a lot.
thats relativley what it would be like in real life, maybe it has been stretched (alot) but SCEJ tryed really hard to give u obvious differences in engine noices to enhance the experience. d'you think that the designers ever heard what a V8 or even super charged V8 sounds like?

Nope C5R does not sound anything remotely close to its real life counterpart. I have been to the Petit LeMans, and when the C5R goes by at wide open throttle, it shakes the trees and your ear drums. Its such a deep bellowing growl. It gives me the shivers thinking about it.

Atleast PD changed the exhaust sound on the C5R instead of just a humm now it rattles but still no V8 growl.

The buick special sounds pretty cool too.

My favorite sounding car is the Toyota GT-One. I think that's one mean sounding car, man I can always tell when that thing is behind me when i'm racing it!

Super Bird, Callaway C12, all honda S2000s and NSXs, all skylines and silvias, Aston Martin Vanquish. 👍

dishonorable mention goes to the HPA R32 and the Chevelle SS 454. :yuck: 👎

I recently purchased one of these used because I remember how much fun the one I had in GT2 was. This car sounds exactly as a real BZ-R does and there are enough modified BZ-R's in Jamaica to make a comparison with. Excellent sound. Really sounds like a 4A-G

super supra
woodone Supra :)

I had a Woodone Supra in GT4 Prologue and it was the best engine sound in the game. I've had GT4 for 2 days now and have aquired the Woodone Supra again. It sounds nothing like it did in Prologue though. It used to sound like a howling banshee at low revs but now it just sounds like......something else.

What's with that?

i havew a couple things to say..

1. I have noticed that when you tune a car to the max...i think they don't know what it would sound like. Take the '70 chevelle. fully tuned it sounds like a mufled v-10 race car or something. So, if you leave it "stock" maybe the sound is right(i lost my garage and can't check for myself).

2. My fav sounding cars so far are the cobra, '63 zo6 race car, and the superbird(at idle). Those are some sweet sounding cars.

so the muscle cars sound better stock? cos i was a bit disappointed at the sound of my fully tuned cuda. anyway my fav has to be chaparrel 2d

Oh yeah, a fully modded Ginetta sounds like a Skyline and since the Ginettas only came with a little 4 cylinder engine, that was a bit disconcerting. If they made it sounds like a Levin BZ-R that would have been decent

I've found that a lot of the cars sound awful with the race exhaust. I've been leaving a lot of mine stock or sport exhaust, sacrificing horsepower just so it doesn't sound like I'm riding astride a Hoover doing laps around Laguna Seca.

Hmm, I would have to go with my tuned ford GT. It almost sounds like the GT from the commerical, sure you all remember tha ford GT commerical, "the one"

I tried to start two threads on the same topic as this one, I have no idea how I missed it. :guilty:

I've come to the conclusion that the Ford V8's are the best. I'm damn sick of the annoying whine of Japanese cars.

The Ford GT's, the GT40, the stock Shelby and AC Cobra's all have amazing engines.

is there any good sounding V8's, you know, the real low gurgle/spitting sound :D

Alright, the car with the most vicious exhaust note I have ever heard is the fully-tuned 2005 Mustang.

So far, the stock Superbird sounds best for me. My race exhaust Charger sounded MUCH better with the stock exhaust, doesn't even sound like a V8 now.
Yeah most of the cars don't even sound like V8's anymore. 👎 after exhaust. I left most of mine stock.

the aston v12s especially the db7 and db9 sound very realistic and absolutely massive! the biggest smile i get with the GT350 though the chargers and cudas are hot but that shelby ford v8...the transition from rumble to spitting to screaming is a one and only! im glad that they got the air cooled porsche engine in the 86 ruf that sounds great too if u stay on the track long enough to listen to it anyway:)

The shelby cobra 427 is the best sounding V8 in the game! Crank the volume and listen to the beautiful idel then rev it. But it sounds better i think when it is completly stock about 485 horespower! 👍

I just won the Chaparral 2D Race Car, and it sounds yummy, only car so far that has the real V8 sound (or does it have a V10?), and it also rocks like a mad man, so far ive used it to win 3 endurances and the Gran Turismo Championship.
