Dude, I totally agree with you there, especially about the SLR. As Clarkson said at the time “it sounds like a Messershmit” :) After all, they both use supercharged Benz engines!

hahaha yeah true u know what im talikng about, MACLAREN says it sounds like a spitfire but MERCEDES says it sounds like a Messershmit. now i aint gonna tell you what i prefer (*cough* spitfire *cough*), but now tell me what you people believe.

The 1962 Buick Special, fully upgraded, the sound of that car idleing is awwwesome...sounds great.

no no NO, dont une it, that car dosnt need anything, i think it sounds horrible tuned, you can hear it whinning, i dont like it like that, ill give you an idea, leave it on standard, turn up your TV volume REEEEEALLY loud and lightly press accelerator, then give it a couple of seconds (enjoy the grumbling) then step on it, youll be like WOOOAAAAH. well thats what i think anyway.

👍 Me too.
I don't know if it was mentioned before, but the '63 ZO6 race car sounds real good too.

I posted this in another thread but it applies here too.

To me all the American V8's sound sorta beefy. That is until you put a racing exhaust on them. That's when they start sounding like a Honda Civic with one of those coffee can tailpipes. PD did a VERY crappy job of making ANY of the American cars sound like they're supposed to with something other than the stock exhaust. The first American pavement pounder that I put a racing exhaust on was the Cougar that you win for whatever it was. I almost rolled on the floor laughing my tush off at the sound that it made. My son had just driven a Honda Accord with a Sport exhaust and neither of us could tell the difference between the Accord with the Sport exhaust and the BIG V8 of the Cougar with a racing exhaust. If you want the rumble of the big beefy American V8's DON'T put a racing exhaust on them. Sad but true.

But to answer your question more directly, the Charger has a nice throaty sound to it. Not sure of any of the older Chevies or Fords. Haven't been able to bring myself to buy any of those yet. :D

Yeah I agree because the muffs on the game ain't the kind like a glass pack all they do is allow quicker air flow so you don't hear as much SOUND so if you keep just the regular muffular it will build up pressure and rumble trying to get out of the muffular.

Well, it's the same thing with the Chevys and Fords too. I learned not to buy exaust for the V8s because I know it will sound like its missing 2 cylinders. :indiff:

The Mercury Cougar, when tuned was one of my favourite sounding cars on GT2. When I saw it was back for GT4 I was straight in there with the tuning...what a disappointment! Not driven it since :(

If only PD could get it right because that car with a racing exaust would sound like the world is coming to an end.

The old Ford GT40 race car, havn't got time to read the whole thread and I apologise if it has been said before.

The A/C Cobra sounds better than the Shelby Cobra I think as the noise is deeper in the A/C and more ground shaking. :D

American Car: The Ford RS200 fully tuned (including Racing Exhaust, Stg 3 Turbo) has the nicest engine sound in GT4 for me so far, especially between 5-6000rpm

Australian Car: The FPV F6 Typhoon has a damn good sound too with a standard exhaust

European Car: The BMW M5 (standard exhaust) + lots of wind noise

Japanese Car: ummmm....................R33 Skyline GTR

So...All you guys say that the sounds in the game are "lame" ?

The best sounding car in the game is a Prius on its electric motor... ;)

I'm kidding, but I do like the sound of the highest-horsepower Mercedes convertible in the game with all the power upgrades (I can't remember the name [sorry] but it was an AMG, and it's the one before the McLaren in the lineup). It rides like a boat, though, unless the suspension is tuned just right.

Hi all i'm new here.

I'm really dissapointed in the sound of teh Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. It should have been like on Top Gear you know the low gorgeling sound but in stead it's more like a high F1 sound.

I think te Amuse Carbon R(Tuned Nissan Skyline GT-R) has the best sound and it looks great really different. The power destribution is crap though..

I really like the AMUSE CarbonR (Skyline) and the Takata Dome NSX. The Pagani Zonda LM Race Car is pretty nice as well.

And about the AMUSE CarbonR, it is not a GT-R because it is RWD.

1. Audi Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline ('37) (great sound ...to bad you only can drive it on N-Ring

2. Chaparral 2D Race Car ('67) Love the sound of that racecar... and the 3 speed transmission

3. Peugeot 905 Race Car ('92) .....

Other Great sounds in my Ears.... Toyota 7 Race Car ('70). TVR Cerbera Speed Six ('97) (Fully Tuned). Volkswagen Golf I GTi ('76).

Any1 knows how the tank-car sounds???

Any1 knows how the tank-car sounds???

it can rev to a whopping 4000rpm (redline 3000rpm) it is a 30litre V12

it tops out at around 250km/h (155mph for people who find km/h unbearable)

it sounds like a hot rod basically. you cant race with it, only free run.
