Which car has the best sound in GT4!?

Yep, like the seremonial intro..::)

- but even the Ford GT doesn`t at all sound like it. Generally the car-sound is a big dissapointment, specially the V8`s. In stead og the mighty roar of a revving V8 they all sounds like cruising around at 1500-2000 rpm, exept when adding racing-exhaust, then they end up sounding like some cheap no-name keyboard-immitation.
In GT2 the Chevy smallblock-sound wasn`t too far out, at least after adding racing-exhaust, and the Challenger had a good powerful sound. Too bad they hasn`t taken this more seriously, this is the second most important thing to make a good car-game- no.1 is off course the car-handling.

- for the record; two of my hobbies are tuning/racing classic US-cars and fullrange gourmet home-audio, guess that makes me kind of qualified on this topic.

The Volkswagen R32 sounds kickass in real life, but crappy in GT4, same with the BMW M3.

On GT4 though, the Viper SRT-10 stock, sounds pretty good.

Another good sounding car is the Lexus SC430 with a Racing Exhaust. (Don't look at me, my mom bought a purple one on GT4 :P )

Anybody who hates the sound should not only get better speakers, but should also get a decorder capable of Pro Logic II decoding and THEN come talk about the sound. I honestly don't know what people are talking about, the engines sound unique and insane with 5.1 surround sound decoded properly.

(In case anybody gets the idea that GT4 doesn't output in pro logic II, just look at the back of your game case)

I was speaking more to the GT3 > GT4 sound claims. I read that in GT3 the engines were recorded at 3/4 throttle and they changed it to full throttle for GT4. On top of that there's the new pro logic encoding to get it to the speakers as true surround.

Compared to real life, the graphics aren't even there yet..

Well, I haven't driven every car yet, but last night I found my current favorite, the Mazda RX-8 Concept LM Race Car (I think, the green and orange one). Seriously meaty idle noise and when flying down the straights at Sarthe in the replays it sounds like an F1 car passing by.

But I may be biased considering I drive an RX-8 IRL 👍

After 30% complete, and from what I've heard so far on a horrible mono tv,this is what I've come to-

1-There seems to be a conspiracy,or at least a very biased slant to the Japanese cars having more realistic sounds than most of the American/German/Italian cars....especially when tuned. The V8 muscle cars should sound UNGODLY with exhaust and tuning upgrades!!! And the AMG Mercs are way too subtle and quiet...in real life they sound quite mean, and even the twin turbo V12s have some rasp to them,at least from outside. The biggest disappointment is the tuning of most of the V8 cars. This is just on average,as some do sound great, like my 600hp Cobra R.

2-Examples-the Chevelle 454 SS and Buick Special sound pretty good w/stock exhaust, but are RUINED by any of the 3 exhaust upgrades.

Question-what does the Suzuki GSX-R sound like? It SHOULD sound amazing having that bike motor....

Anyways,I really need to set up a Dolby 5.1 system and turn it up.That should help a bit,but all-in-all I think they did a pretty good job. There is always room for improvement, and hopefully next time they will give the muscle cars and V8s better upgraded exhaust sounds.

I love the sound of the Amuse S2000 GT1. That is the best sounding car I have come across so far. Also very sexy 👍

I don't hate the sound, but some of the cars I hear in real life, sound nothing like the cars in the game...

remember though a car will always sound different if you are listening to the sound from in the car or from the side of the road passing by. take an F1 car for example, they sound very high-pitched and almost screechy as they pass by, but an onboard sound is much nicer i think because it sounds more meatier and smooth.

Althought I hate to drive this machine based on sheer power, the Dodge Viper (RT10 i think?? im not sure, the one you can buy new) stock sounds great at idle and when you rev the engine. Especially when you use the furthest back camera angle.
