Which Standard car are you looking most forward to using in GT5? No wishlists!

It's not a wishlist. All these cars are confirmed to be in the game because they were in the previous games (GT4/PSP).

It's not about cars you hope are in, it's cars you know are in and are most excited about actually driving. It's completely different and, in my opinion, exactly the kind of joyful pondering this forum needs. And people are ruining it.
^ Thank you. That was exactly the reason I created this thread.

That itself is not a confirmation. As I recall, the info on the GT5 site says that the 800 standard cars are from past GT games. Which games and which cars is not listed. While we assume that it's mainly GT4/GTPSP, we aren't 100% certain.

Yeah, but 99% certain is far closer than I think is worth arguing over. The fact of the matter is that GT5 at least has to have all of the cars from GTPSP (though hopefully not the stupid variations), which means around 700 cars or so; and that an overwhelmingly large majority of them will be Standard cars at launch. And it is almost certain that the cars missing from GT4 will return to GT5 as well, and they will likely be Stadards also.

So what is the harm in asking what returning cars people will be looking forward to driving in GT5? If someone says a car they would like from GT4 to drive in GT5, and it turns out that PD made it a Premium, what difference does it really make?

CLK55 AMG and all other MB cars.

To me, no difference.
However I'm not the one that put NO WISHLISTS in the thread title.

That has nothing to do with anything. I simply posted that because I don't want people posting wishlists, because it epically misses the point of the thread and GTP has far more than enough of those already anyways.

This thread was made on the perfectly reasonable assumption that nearly all of the cars from GT4/GTPSP would be returning as Standard cars. I could have titled it "Which returning car are you looking most forward to using in GT5?," but I felt that most of the people on GTP were able to comprehend that all of the Standard cars were obviously going to be returning from some previous game in the series; and I'm personally more interested, for whatever reason, in what people are looking forward to driving from the cars that are likely to be Standard models.

it's a 1993 honda civic si hatchback (eg6) for me and i'll set it up for auto cross like my car :)

That, the GT40 road car, the BMW 328Ci and the Nissan 350z Detroit Motor Show concept car. And the Mini for those who owned the NTSC version of GT4. There may be others as well (aside from the Diablo and Porsche, obviously), but those are what come to mind immediately.

Ah, cheers. I wouldn't mind all of those back (and the Diablo should be able to return now, ideally). If there's the modern equivalent to the 328Ci as a Premium, all the better I suppose.

Edit: Plus all of the Formula 1 cars and the special version of the Evo VI T.M.E.

Edit 2: Plus the FTO LM.

Hm, yeah, I do wonder if the GT3 F1 cars will make their return. Even more far-fetched would be if they could be labelled as their real-life versions... it'd be nice.

The FTO LM's in GT4 though . I know it's always been tweaked in each different game, but it's still roughly similar.

Among other,I was about to name some Ferraris and Lamborghinis but they seem to be all premium, and from my point of view one badge that must or at least should be all premiums is alfa,I don't really care for a 90's japanese family car crappy interior, but I will love to see Alfas Interiors.

The great thing about video-game Alfa interiors; the electronics can't crap out on you ;). I kid, I kid, I do love Alfas.

I always felt "wishlist" was a terrible, inaccurate title. In the spirit of your original post, I feel "hunt through the interwebs and name a car that hasn't already been listed in the great list of EVERY CAR EVAR!, even if it exists no further than as a sketch on a piece of paper".

I have a feeling this will be premium. It's one of Japan's finest ever racing cars and it's been featured relatively prominently in the series so far. As a comparison, the 787B is another Japanese legend and it's premium. Plus the GT-One wasn't in the standard cars video when other cars like the CLK-GTR and V12 LMR were.

(about Toyota GT-ONE)
I'm praying for that! But I think only new Lemans (and JGT) cars will be premiums...:guilty: (it makes sense for me)

I dunno.

In GT it looked like this:

As far as GT2 I can't comment, as I've never owned it in GT2, but from what I've seen it looks pretty much identical.

Then in GT3 it looks like this:

Pretty much the same car but with the post-1997 foglights (I tried to find a pic of the green one, to no avail). It even has the same sponsorship logos in the same location.
Basically, from GT to GT3 it was the same car. It even had roughly the same performance (weight and power) throughout the series.

However, in GT4 it looks like this:

And this is despite PD lifting pretty much all of the other LM cars directly from GT3 without modeling changes.

I'd say that PD certainly replaced the FTO LM with the FTO Super Touring, but I wouldn't say it was close enough to be the same car.

The 787B isn't a new Le Mans car and it's premium. The Tom's Supra isn't a new Super GT/JGTC car either.

Those 3 babies no doubt, but 190EvoII the most.

GTPSP intro shot, thanx to CoolColJ for the grab.

Excellent thread Toronado 👍

I'm looking forward to driving all the Zonda's (listed below) again with the new physics and comparing them to the more recent Zonda's...assuming the F, Cinque etc are included :scared:

  • Pagani Zonda C12 6L (2000) 402 hp
  • Pagani Zonda C12S 7L (2000) 543 hp
  • Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 (2002 ) 547 hp

I dunno.

Hm, wow, I forgot how different it really was in GT4. It is interesting that PD has latched onto it and kept tinkering each game, while other LM's come and go, or stay the same between games (well, the RX-7 LM has changed a lot too). I can't remember off hand roughly what class of car the GT4 one competed with; essentially it had similar specs to the DTM's, right?

I'm curious what LM's we can expect PD to throw into the mix this time around. Maybe they'll finally answer for the mysterious disappearances of the Del Sol LM and Cerbera LM (since both normal road versions exist in GT4).

Oh, another car I will probably own fairly early; the '70 Galant. Such a sweet ride 👍

1990 Corvette ZR1! My grandfather owns one, takes fantastic care of it. Mint condition, and hugely fun even to be a passenger in. Can't imagine how it'll sound in the game.

Not to use wishlist, I used this GTP Master Car List reference and had to choose between:

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Audi R8 LMS (PlayStation Abt Nur 24, '09)
Audi R10 TDI (Le Mans, '06)
Ferrari Enzo ('02)
Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni ('09)
Maserati GranTurismo S ('08)
Tesla Roadster Sport ('08)

Not clear to me still what will be premium or not, anyway will probably stick to bumper view on my small screen.

The winner is: Audi R8 LMS (PlayStation Abt Nur 24, '09)

But the others will follow soon if I have the credits.

Sadly, I believe that this will indeeed be a Premium car (not that it matters to me what the difference is, anyway:sly:)
After looking at that list, I've decided to choose the R32 Skyline and drive that (fav car series of all time.)

The R8 LMS is confirmed as a standard car. Or is this a completely different car?

The black LMS is. Technically, the car he mentioned isn't confirmed as a Standard... it's just incredibly likely to be, since it's just a different paint job.

Like I said, show me the official car list and I'll contribute. Until then, like most things on here at the moment, it's people posting for the sake of it, clutching at anything remotely news-related.

The Mazda 787B is premium? That car will be epic to drive in GT5. I just hope they get the sound right on it for once, it always sounded good but it was nothing like it sounds in real life.

Call me strange (and you would be correct to do so), but I really look forward to driving the Mistubishi Legnum VR4 Wagon if it returns.

It's really just fun to drive that thing.

And, of course, the Tommy Kaira ZZII would be nice as well.

1. Evo VIII/IX MR GSR
2. Impreza 22B
3. Integra Type R (DC2)
4. Gallardo LP-560

7.F40
8. Corvette ZR1 (09)
