I was wondering why a forum need make an agreement where ever word has to be typed and spelled correctly. It seems weird. We all know what we are saying, so why not make it so we don't have to be extremely proper. I don't have a problem with this, it just will make everyone life easier.

It doesn't.

We all know what we are saying, so why not make it so we don't have to be extremely proper.

Now imagine you are a Croatian with poor English reading skills, trying to participate in the largest single game series, single platform forum on the internet. Ow du u fink ud cope wiv dis?

GTPlanet requires you to use English, to not use textspeak, to use capitals appropriately and to use grammar to the best of your ability. It's not massively restrictive, nor is it terribly complex. We don't demand perfection, we ask for effort - the effort of using the official language of your country to the best standard you can manage. You agreed to this, so clearly you were fine with it when you joined up.

I don't have a problem with this, it just will make everyone life easier.

GTPlanet's rules are designed to allow as many people as possible to participate and to exclude as few people as possible. You read and agreed to them, so clearly you don't have a problem with them either. So why do we need to change them for this thread?

Admins and mods keep posting on my thread now and I didn't even do anything

Including expending the barest minimum effort to follow our rules despite three staff reminders.

 hahahahahahaha. Not like I did anything crazy, my PC does not just automatically fix and correct words

Irrelevant. There is no clause in the rules you agreed to which says "Oh, but it's fine to lazily skip required capitals if your PC doesn't automatically fix and correct words".

If your location is accurate, English is your country's official language (albeit US English). In English proper nouns, the start of sentences and the personal "I" are all capitals. That's four reminders from staff to abide by the rules you agreed to.

well not like I do it on purpose or nothing. haha

Well it's not like I do it on purpose or nothing. Haha.

Irrelevant. There's no clause in the rules you agreed to that says "Oh, but it's fine to be accidentally lazy.". Make the effort - that's all we ask - and you won't even do it accidentally.

Why did you agree to our rules if you're just going to ignore them? Do you make a habit of breaking promises and contracts?

Oh my god haha, OK you win.

It's nothing to do with winning. You read and agreed to our rules before you even put your username in - you ticked a little box to say you'd read and agreed to them. Now, either you did read and agree to them but choose to break the rules - which makes you untrustworthy - or you didn't read them - which makes you a liar and untrustworthy. But either way, you did agree to them and we will hold you to that.

If you have so little respect for yourself that you give away your word and break it for free, that's your problem. Making sure you don't break it here is ours. No-one should need this much reminding that they made a promise which is phenomenally easy to keep.

Ok as you wish, we shall never break the rules again in the history of the White Smoke Gang thread. Thanks for giving my thread more posts. So are you any good at drifting ?

do the moderators get paid???

Do the moderators get paid???

No we do not get paid, we like the site enough to dedicate some of our precious spare time to it. Most if not all of us have families and a part/fulltime job.

Ignoring moderator instructions (see the above posts) is not a wise thing to do.

^^I take two valuable lessons from the above posts...The moderators are a dedicated bunch whom devote their free time to regulate a website @ no profit for themselves; and they should be respected as such....I also see that the mods are more than capable to speak up for themselves, and should be allowed to do so...

No ? I did not think so. So now you stick to correcting peoples grammer and I shall stick to drifting.

To be fair slip is not in the wrong, he's only restating the rules that YOU agreed to, no matter how strict they may seem to you :)

.. and to be honest if you've been using keyboards for more than a few years of your life you should be able to touch type by now, it's not that hard.

It's like watching a handicapped child when I see peoples eyes fixed to their keyboard when they're typing, one letter at a time, not to mention they're only using their index fingers :D

Aww man.. they should give typing lessons in school :nervous:

I just switched to colemak keyboard layout.
20 words per minute on my first day !

used to have only 80 on qwerty
