Who else hates the Cape Ring?

I don't hate it; I just find it useless. It feels very artificial in its conception, the spiral bridge is a bit stupid.

I wish Driving Park from GT4 or Complex String from GT3 replaced Cape Ring.

Not only is Cape Ring my favourite track in GT5, it's upsurped Opera Paris as my favourite track in the whole Gran Turismo series. Nicely flowing and smoooooooth - none of those damn bumps you get halfway though a flat out corner that fire you into the armco like you get on the Nurburgring. Whenever I get fed up having missed a gold by a tenth again I just take a stock RX7 round the full Cape Ring and all is well with the world.

Hey, I think it's a fine track too, in all of the configurations.

There again, all of the Driving Park variants I thought were terrible, too tight and short for the car range available. Complex string though, great.

Cape ring gives you some good views too - I can't see why you guys have a problem...

Ermmm.

Cape ring is the test track for GT5. If you hate it, your car setup is incorrect as it tests almost all types of corner/banking and transition.

A real test of skill, not just the driver.
EXACTLY what I was going to post. 👍

This is my test course for all my "race modded" cars. I try and get them to 400 hp give or take, and have at it. More than that, I head to the Nurburgring.

The track is a blast, and I can race it for hours. If you guys think it's too long and challenging, you must really hate The Ring.

I enjoy the variations of the track with cars 500hp or less. The elevation changes can make using faster cars a headache. All in all, though, it's not that bad. If only more people online would brake for the hairpins.

Not the biggest fan of it. Like the periphery version, has a better flow IMO. I only enjoyed the full thing in the X1, then it all seems to come together.

Not particularly keen either. Autumn Ring, Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest etc all, despite being fantasy tracks, have a lot of character... the feel like real tracks and defining sections or corners and little quirks that make them challenging.

Cape Ring feels like a series of corners connect with straights... if you see what I mean. It feels like the new F1 tracks to me. Character-less and boring.

Took my lightly tuned Golf GTi around the Cape Ring Periphery track for the first time the other day and I was beaming from ear to ear - love it!

Some technical corners, sweeping bends, high speed sections... I really do like it :)

i like cape ring. i got the "human stop watch" trophy on it somehow! i find it quite enjoyable when you've got a good car beneath you. If its slow then i cant stand it because i dont find it a challenge.

also people have to remember this is a fictional track thought up by a game designer and not a professional track deisgner. thats got to count toward it not being as good as a real world circuit.

I love the ring mostly because its so long and diverse I never get bored. Cape ring is somewhat similar but its in between feeling like a circuit and a real "road" course like the ring is. With the ring you actually feel like you're going somewhere. For testing or online racing I would prefer a shorter track like cape ring south. For pure enjoyment I'd go to the ring.

Must be a special needs graduate. Ever heard of the Nurburgring? A place that actually exists.

I agree, Cape Ring is a terrible track, but hidden within it are two absolute blinders!

Cape Ring Inside is a small and fast track that is good for some close racing.

and:

Cape Ring Periphery is raced anti-clockwise to the Regular Cape Ring (which doesn't have a reverse), and again, is a superb track.

Agree 100%.👍

I hate the other variants, but the Cape Ring Periphery has awesome flow, and would be perfect without the ridiculous jumps. The full version is just awful, it has no flow and the three other variations are nearly as bad.

The full version is a bit too long, it would've been perfect if it were 1:30 for normal cars and ~1:05 - 1:10 for LM cars. But i love this track anyway.
My least favorites are Nurburgring GP and Circuit de la Sarthe (all versions).

I love it actually, it's one of my favorites. And yes, that includes all versions.

I'm not a big fan of the jump at the end of the round about or whatever you call it. Other than that, I like the way the track feels.

It's good that you can get so many variations out of it, but they're all lifeless and boring. The track has too much variety which just makes you feel like you're randomly ploughing through one of Kaz's doodles. It just doesn't have that flow which makes tracks like Spa such a pleasure to drive.

Really??? your attackin him with an insult because his opinion differs from yours.....wow intelligence just flows from you doesn't it! :indiff:

I don't mind Cape Ring, but 5 laps of the full course in every other series in A-Spec gets a little grating...

Except for the jump, I have no problem with the track. I actually like quite a few parts of it, however because of the jump I only really drive on Cape Ring South (no jump).

I have to admit, I REALLY, really do not like this track, don't know why but I don't like the flow of it at all.

The North and South sections are alright on their own, I just hate the Full varient of Cape Ring. I also don't like the fact that you have to race on the full version so many times in both A and B-Spec.
