Who else hates the Cape Ring?

Yeah, I hate it. There's absolutely no character, either as a circuit or an environment. What is it even supposed to be?? Some huge arcade track built in some strange baron landscape of pale green hills. The jumps are dumb, and also, I hate it. Has obviously had very little work put into it. Hate!

viva El-Capitan!

I hate Cape Ring. I'm glad i've finally completed every event there in A-Spec. Not going there again.. ever. Only time I would is if I had to in the seasonal events.

While I don't hate the track, I do hate the fact that they developed it instead of one or two real world tracks.

It's certainly not my favourite track, but how much more fun would it be if we could drive Spa or Hockenheim or Bathurst?

Edit: And the jump is ridiculous. It's pretty typical of the way GT is going, let's do a race in Le Mans cars with a jump in the middle of the track. Is this designed to entertain little kids?

Cape Ring... hmm, gets a tad tedious.
Now, add either 'North' or 'Periphery' to the end and I'm sold :sly:
I use Cape Ring North to tune my drift cars, and Periphery to just have a damn good race. It's a shame these variants aren't used more in A-Spec instead of the full Cape Ring, which can get boring on longer races, even in a fast (talking 300bhp+) car.

Got to love that track. You can just feel the power of your car when you power out through the corners. Its a very smooth flowing track.

Yeah, this track is the most ridiculously childish of all the fantasy tracks in the game.. I thought GT5 was serious about racing.

Cant stand the track myself, it feels as if it was ported from and old need for speed, particularly with the loop and the giant jumps.
The only part I do like is the Istanbul section.
Also the textures just assault your visual sensors! How fluorescent can the green get!

Have to disagree with the OP. This is my test track and one of my favourites! To say it doesn't flow means you're not driving it properly. Get your braking points right and set your car up properly and you'll find it gets better every time you drive it!

As for the Surroundings etc...Doesn't bother me, I'm focused on the road!

Tracks, cars... Just like dogs.

There are no bad dogs, just bad owners..!

Every track has its 'right car'. I really liked this one in the Audi TT DTM car. Felt about right for the shape. It's not the right course for an FGT, though!

Mind you, yes, I am a bit skeptical about the jump. There's really no point in it unless it unsettles your car as much as a real jump would (and a real jump like that would destroy most cars, anyway!). Mario Kart madness!

Cover it in gravel, and it would make an epic rally course though... ;)

I enjoy Cape Ring. Yes, the colours are a bit vivid and its mostly flat with no changes in camber (except the bowl) but it is an excellent machine test course for other reasons. The bowl is particularly demanding of mid engined cars and the jump whilst maybe seeming a bit ludicrous is useful also. Cars with front and rear down force have a huge advantage at the two jumps whilst the second jump can be used to balance the aero of your car in relation to its weight distribution.
Cape North is my pick as its not to long. The only thing this track is missing is a decent length straight.

I like it. Especially the inside -configuration. I can't believe people say this track has no flow and the elevation changes are boring!? Elevation changes make any track exciting!

For refrence-

I absolutely hate that long carasel. In a competitive race, if you have too much understeer and go over the top, theres so much green up there that you wont hit awall for a second or two. Its also good bye Top 10 finish...

Edit- Not the spinning up one, I love that
The banked half circle turn about 1 mile in

So, So, So boring, waste of my time, absolutely hate doing this specific track. 👎

I don't really enjoy the full version, although I use it as a test track due to the different types of corners. Other than that, it just has no flow to it.

I also HATE the jump, just ridiculous.

I like the long spiral though. Also the Periphery and Inside versions are quite enjoyable to drive.

Reminds me a LITTLE of Miller Motorsport Park's layout... :sly:

I love those corner names:lol:
