Who else hates the Cape Ring?

Actually I like it. Lots of different corners, lots of elevation changes, and a whimsical element from the jump and the spiral. What I'd want from a pure fantasy track.

I really like this track, the pheriphery version, the full version is slightly too long for my taste.

I don't like how the ring part has that bump seam thing in it though.

I beg to differ.

I don't hate a track because the car setup is incorrect, mostly because I prefer driving cars stock. I'm not talking about lap times here, I'm talking about the way the track feels and it's layout. Go tell Mercedes their SLS car setup is incorrect because it makes me hate Cape Ring but it makes me love the Nordschleife. For the purpose of testing I prefer the almighty Nordscheife, La Sarthe, Monza, Top Gear Test Track, or Indy/Daytona road courses. Those tracks are fare more enjoyable, flowing, and demanding that the ridiculous cape ring. And then again, hitting the rev limiter on Mulsanne, losing my car on Wipperman, Understeering wildly on the corkscrew, or messing up on the first corner at Daytona (Which are al matters of driver skill and car setup) doesn't spoil my enjoyment of this tracks.

My lap time boards around TGTT, Monza, and La Sarthe are full. The Nordschleife one isn't because I almost always screw it, but I run around it quite often. Yet, I've never had the slightest desire to test my cars "a la Jeremy Clarkson" around Cape Ring.

If you find it that bad you honestly must not like hgoing fast, the track is meant to be tough and sketchy and it has a lot of transitions but is really fun if you know how to drive and control your car.

Am I the only one who forgets what configuration I'm on? "All right, here's the straightaway....oops, hairpin!" Doh! :dunce:

Exactly what happens to me yesterday :scared:

I love all the variations : Inside version is perfect for slow cars.
But the longest version is a bit... long.

It's a horrible track but I like it. I think the GT academy taught me to like it. There are parts that are great and there are parts that just don't mix. I am glad it's not in the endurance events though, the cheese would fall off your cracker during an 8 hour endurance race there.

It seems more like Kaz's attempt at a modern day Nürburgring.

I'm not particularly fond of it, I must admit. The landscaping is too 'tellytubbyish' with flowing green hills and perfect blue skies, the track is neither challenging, engaging nor enjoyable and the layout in my opinion is rather random and haphazard and for me, the hideous jump is just the final nail in it's lifeless coffin.

If it were a drink, it would be tablewine. If it were a car, it would be a Kia. If it were a city, it would me Munich. All perfectly well in their own right but lacking in absolutely everything that would ever make you choose them over something else.

very nice track, but to be honest I love all tracks! Cape Ring is very good for Online and Offline Drifts..

Cape Ring looks brilliant...but the full version is too long. Still, the Periphery is very awesome.

I don't mind the cape ring, its a good track and a worthy addition to the GT lineup I think. That being said the full version can sometimes get a bit tedious. But I find the most difficult part about it is remembering which version of the track I'm doing. I get the corners mixed up, which usually results in a large crash

I like the track, it can be challenging at times, but thats what I'm looking for in a track?

I wonder as anyone drifted the whole carousel???

Cape ring south is my favorite of its layouts. Not that that's saying much, it's an awful track.

I'd trade cape ring to get any number of gt4 tracks back in a heartbeat. The scenery is just tents and grass, and then there is the matter of that silly loop. Scenery is half of what makes GT-original tracks so much fun. Where did you go El Capitan? Costa di Amalfi?

GT5 was the last game I ever expected to see a drift spiral in. I got fully sick of those when Modnation Racers was released.

It`s ok. It is a bit long but overall its alright,it could be worse! The scenery is a bit stale and whats with the giant spiral? Other than that its ok.

I don't mind it, I think it's a little long but it's still a fun track to drive on.

Cape Ring is fun. It's actually one of my favorite tracks. I love how it has almost every type of corner there is while still managing to not be ridiculously time consuming (like the Nordschleiffe). IMHO, it's great for tuning cars.

I can't beleive so many people dislike this track, I think it's great. The full trick is a little long, but each of the variations are excellent for different styles of cars (inside track for lightweights and fwd, periphery for faster more powerful cars). It's up there with Deep Forest and Trial Mountain as a fictional track I'd build in real life if I could, although I would remove the (admittedly ridiculous) jump just after the large ring. Get your braking points right and a well setup car will flow from corner to corner.

By the way, where's the second jump. Apart from the aforementioned ring jump the only times I ever get airborne is when I seriously screw up.

I hate it. I can't stand the long version!!! It's sooooooooo boring. I like to race with underpowered cars to keep the racing competative but for the long version of cape ring I use the fastesd car possible I can. And then that seasonal with the kuble just made me angry. Even fully modded that race took forever:(:(:(:(

I for one enjoy the Cape Ring because of its sophistication but Circuit de Madrid is a whole different story.

:censored:I actually rather enjoy it. The outer ring is the most fun, followed by the full. I dont really use the north/souther versions, but they are about as good as the inside version (which I dont mind either)

But that jump is just 🤬

Overall they aren't too bad, but there are some corners that are just ridiculous.
Slowing down to a near stop, is just lame.

And it seems that the graphics of the tracks are just a bit worse than other tracks in Gt5.

It's a good test track, but not much fun to race on. Too long & the scenery is tired.

If you want a laugh, take your X1 & set downforce to min, raise ride height to max & go over that jump as fast as you can. Then watch the replay. I haven't tried them, but the FGT & the Veyron should be a laugh as well...
